You thought that we'd be done with new game announcements just because we're one week away from 2025. Think again!

Genki has just recently posted a gameplay video for a new Tokyo Xtreme Racer (or "Shutoku Battle" as it's known as in Japan) game. The existence of the project has been known for a few months, but this is the first time we've actually seen anything definitively tied to the new game. This is the first time the series will have a proper non spin-off or non-mobile release since 2006, so you can understand how fans of the series were amped up upon the reveal. The franchise has been dormant for an extremely long time, and now it's making a bold comeback.

The game is set to be released on Steam at some point in 2025. We don't know much yet other than the gameplay footage video that the company posted.

Additionally, I'd like to highlight this particular still image:

It seems that Genki has taken a page directly out of Polyphony Digital's book because the car name layout is identical to that of Gran Turismo 7. We can also take a brief look at the car list and take note of the fact that, I believe this is only the second racing game in existence to feature either the fourth generation Mazda3, or the third generation Suzuki Swift, both of which are also in Gran Turismo 7. Of course though, who wouldn't want to look at the glorious fourth generation Toyota Supra?

What do you think of the gameplay video for the new Tokyo Xtreme Racer? Do you think you'll pick it up? Let us know in the comments below.
