Big news for those making purchases on the Epic Games Store, or who constantly buy stuff in their games. Every purchase is now netting you 20% of your money spent as Epic Rewards, which you can then use as a way to discount future purchases. They last for 25 months from the date of purchase and are added to your account 14 days after the purchase is made.

Let's say you spend 10 USD on a game. The default Epic Rewards rate is 5%, so you'd only get 0.50 USD. With the new 20% rate (which is NOT permanent), you'd get back 2 USD. Next time you purchase a 10 USD game, you'll only need to pay 8 USD, but you'll get back 1.60 USD from that transaction. Rinse and repeat. Side note: If you do make any purchase from the Epic store, don't forget to use OUTOFGAMES at checkout, it helps us a lot.

For games developed by Epic - which for now includes Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League, this change is permanent, and you'll always get 20% back. For purchases in the store, this is a special promotion that will only last until the 31st of August. There have been boosts for the Epic Rewards in the past, but not this high.

Keep in mind, you'll only get the rewards by using Epic's payment processor. So getting V-bucks from a third party or games from sites other than Epic won't give you those rewards. This whole thing is likely in response to Apple now being forced to allow third party payment methods on their platforms, which is also why Fortnite is going back to Apple devices.

Quote From Epic Games

Starting today, when you make a purchase in Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys using Epic’s payment system globally on PC, iOS, Android, and the web, you’ll get 20% back in Epic Rewards. You can spend your rewards in Fortnite and our other games, or on the Epic Games Store when you use Epic’s payment system. These 20% rewards in Epic's games are here to stay.

Also, we are boosting Epic Rewards from 5% to 20% for all Epic Games Store purchases using Epic's payment system through August 31. This includes games from other companies that are distributed through the Epic Games Store.
