PlayStation's Days of Play returns on May 28th! This is their annual celebration/sales season where their stuff gets cheaper for a while, including subscriptions and hardware. They've also announced tomorrow's Essential line-up (because they hate me), as well as added more games to the Extra tier. Let's get into it!

Essential

First things first, tomorrow's Essential line-up... today! We've got all the games that are coming to PS Plus Essential revealed:

  • NBA 2K25 | PS5, PS4
  • Alone in the Dark (2024) | PS5
  • Bomb Rush Cyberfunk | PS5, PS4
  • Destiny 2: The Final Shape (expansion) | PS5, PS4

The Destiny 2 expansion comes out on May 28th, while everything else arrives June 3rd. This is also your last chance to claim last month's games, which are available until June 2nd.

Extra

Extra players are getting a few more games this month. This is in addition to the regular update, which should arrive in about two weeks' time (one a Wednesday, Sony!). Here's what's coming:

  • Another Crab’s Treasure | PS5 (May 29)
  • Skull and Bones | PS5 (June 2)
  • Destiny 2: Legacy Collection | PS5, PS4 (June 4)
  • Grand Theft Auto III Definitive Edition | PS4, PS5 (June 10)

It's interesting to note that the games all arrive on different days. Remains to be seen if this just for this event, or if this is the new normal and Sony is moving towards a more flexible schedule akin to Microsoft's Game Pass.

Premium

Premium subscriber are getting two more games added to their selection, Riven and Myst, along with game trails for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Sid Meier's Civilization VII.

Hardware and Software Sales

PlayStation consoles will be on sale across all regions. The console will be available for 400 USD/510 CAD in select stores (a discount of 120 USD/160 CAD) and for 400 EUR/340 GBP/65980 Yen, though there was a price increase recently for some model in certain regions.

Every other accessory is also getting a 20-50 USD sale. Most noteworthy is the PSVR2, which is 50 USD off on top of the price decrease from a while ago, so this is a great time if you want to get into VR, including on PC with their adapter.

PS Plus is getting an up to 33% discount across the board, both for new subscribers and those who want to upgrade. Existing users won't be able to prolong their subscription without upgrading, though. There's also a 10% discount on purchases on Sony Pictures Core for PS Plus subs.

Lastly, there'll be a sale on the PS Store for a number of games, but that's not live yet and we don't know exact prices.
