SUPERVIVE is Shutting Down in February 2026 Due to a Lack of Attention

We've got some sad news today, and that's the end of updates for Theorycraft Game's SUPERVIVE. The developers put out a fireside chat video with their Executive Producer, Jess Nam, talking about the move to sunset the game.

So, why are they sunsetting the game? With SUPERVIVE being out for a little over a year now, Theorycraft Games was unable to capture enough attention and excitement to sustain further development of the game. They have noticed that players may come and try the game, but they don't stick around long-term. This doesn't work out as the game is "ambitious and expensive to support".

Jess states that the team wasn't perfect and that they "fell short" and "tried to do too much" in places with SUPERVIVE, but they have learned many lessons from the game and will take this knowledge forward.

On February 25, 2026, SUPERVIVE will no longer be able to be logged into and will be delisted from Steam. If you ever wanted to give the game a try, you've got a couple of months left to give it a shot. In-game purchases with real money have been disabled.

Once shut down, the game will no longer be possible to play. The team says that they had looked into making a standalone version of the game but it was too much work to modify the code and content to be hostable by a player.

Patch 2.0.4

SUPERVIVE's 2.0.4 patch will still be going live this week featuring a new prototype game mode (Prisma Party), balance to the hunter, and a final bundle of completed skins which will be made available to all players for free. This will be the last planned patch for SUPERVIVE.

Refunds?

SUPERVIVE is allowing players to submit refund requests for any purchases made since September 16, 2025, or from 90 days before the sunset announcement. You can submit a refund request via player support.

Where Does Theorycraft Go Next?

Theorycraft is not going away. They are currently working on their next game and have stated that we should expect them to go dark for a while during this phase. It's a sad day for SUPERVIVE fans, of which they had a very passionate community, but we hope to see Theorycraft try more new and innovative games next.

We can expect their next game to look "very different" from SUPERVIVE and overall they hope to forge in a new direction for Theorycraft. High quality, sharply focused games, somewhere between Indie and AAA is where the team says they are heading.
