New Horrifying Visuals Coming to Escape From Tarkov - Nikita Showcases a New Preview of the Tech

Battlestate Games' Head of Studio, Nikita Buyanov, published a preview of some of the new effects that Escape From Tarkov is going to soon be able to contain. During yesterday's TarkovTV which discussed what we would be seeing in 2026, one of the big points was new immersive features would be coming into the game.

The video, seen below, showcases a Shoreline-looking map with a body bag sliding into a room and the door locking, making for quite a horrifying experience with the background music used in the video. Blood begins to flow from under the door, after which the player turns around, only to see another door they get closer to start to shake. Turning more and moving down the hallway, a gust of wind rattles papers and lockers down the long hallway.

These effects, which would be used in more story-driven content in the game to enrich the experience, aren't due to be seen until later in 2026 according to the TarkovTV stream. This turns Tarkov into a game that is horrifying to play at times up another level, which should make for some incredible events. It might be a bit too much if content like this was used in the game world on every map, so we'll have to wait and see exactly what kind of more immersive content on the base maps Battlestate has planned for us.

Outside of sliding bodies, spilling blood, and gusty wind with flying objects, we also know that keypads you have to input each individual button press to unlock a door will be coming as well, and we can expect car alarms that can be triggered when a car gets shot. Great immersion additions and hopefully, those car alarms aren't going to trigger an entire zombie horde, which we will be getting a large Halloween event next year with Zombies, so the expectation has been set.

What do you think of the new special effects? What are you looking forward to most for Escape From Tarkov in 2026?
