Escape From Tarkov's Kolotun Event End Date Confirmed

Battlestate Games has confirmed the end dates for the Kolotun event and the Christmas Tree availability in your hideout in Escape From Tarkov.

Announced on Telegram, we now know that Kolotun quest chain is going away on January 8, 2026. This gives us just under 3 days from the time we're posting about it to finish up the quest chain and earn your very own limited-time achievement, Whiteout. The Christmas Tree in your hideout will be sticking around a bit longer, allowing you to use your ornaments to craft and final items you want to make.

"Kolotun" in-game event in #EscapefromTarkov is available for completion until January 8th 9AM GMT / 4AM EST.

● The achievement and in-game tasks will be unavailable for earning and completing after the event ends;
● Christmas Tree Hideout module will be available for use until January 19th 9AM GMT / 4AM EST.

So, what should you be focusing on in the next few days? First off, make sure you finish the quests. There is some great experience to be earned from all the event tasks and with that some rewards and reputation with the traders as well. Second, you'll want to start farming in-game Christmas Tree areas hard for ornaments and presents (great way to get materials for things) so that you can take advantage of Christmas Tree crafts.

The best crafts to make use of are:

  • 20x White Ornament
  • 2x Shyshka
  • 2x Tangerine
• LEDX
  • 30x White Ornament
  • 2x Purple Ornament
  • 1x Shyshka

  • 1x White Ornament
  • 1x Purple Ornament
• Whiskey
  • 2x Purple Ornament
• Injectors - Various, depends on your gameplay, check them all out.

There are also various guns and backpacks available.

The LEDX is a clear winning item, being used in the following:

• Level 35 Private Clinic quest which rewards you with a T H I C C Item Case;
• Level 38 Crisis quest which unlocks more injector crafts at your Medstation;
• The Medstation Level 3 upgrade;
• Bartering for the T H I C C Item Case on Loyalty Level 4 Therapist.

The T H I C C Item Case is easily the best mid-game case available in Escape From Tarkov, so crafting as many LEDX which can be difficult to find during raids is the smartest call. The Ballistic Plate Case though can also be handy if you don't have one already, or you've maxed your current one out. Whiskey is also handy as you can use it towards an alternative barter of the T H I C C Item Case - can you tell I love my cases T H I C C? I'm also a big fan of the M.U.L.E injector which increase your weight limit by 50%, making it easier to get out of raids with the largest backpacks filled with goodies, or if you're crazy, one of those new Mazoni golden dumbbells; The injectors can also be handy if you need to finish the Samples quest which, normally, making a M.U.L.E would require several other injectors on the Medstation, making the ornament-driven craft a no-brainer.

Additionally, if you want to go on a spree of killing Santa, you can fill up your inventory with Santa bags which are very visually distinct. I'm personally a big fan of the Santa backpack because friends that I play with love to shoot me even though I am quite clear about where I am going to be so sticking out like a sore thumb with the red and white bag makes for an easy target from enemy players but at least my friends don't freak out.
