This is everything you need to know about Kolotun's Christmas event quest series and how to complete all of the new tasks.

How to Complete All of Kolotun's Event Tasks in Escape From Tarkov's Christmas Event

Update January 5: Kolotun ends on January 8.
Update December 31: The Whiteout achievement is now available by completing "A Small Celebration".

Kolotun, Escape From Tarkov's 2025-2026 Christmas event started on December 24, 2025 and with it comes a new series of Tasks to complete.  We're going to walk you through each of the tasks and show you the easiest way to complete them.

Everything starts by going to Prapor and picking up the first task, Missing in Action. Let's go and get ourselves the Whiteout achievement and unlock Ragman's New Year Ushanka Hat.

Missing in Action

This task released on December 24, 2025.

The first task comes from Prapor who is asking us to stash items around Woods, Reserve, and Interchange. All the items are provided as initial equipment, so don't worry about having to go collect them - unless you die.

There is one location you must visit on each of the three maps, stashing three different objects on your visit.

Objectives

  • Stash a Pack of Arseniy buckwheat at the Scav house on Woods
  • Stash a Bottle of Tarkovskaya vodka at the Scav house on Woods
  • Stash an Iskra ration pack at the Scav house on  Woods
  • Stash a Pack of Arseniy buckwheat at the guard barrack on Reserve
  • Stash a Bottle of Tarkovskaya vodka at the guard barrack on Reserve
  • Stash an Iskra ration pack at the guard barrack on  Reserve
  • Stash a Pack of Arseniy buckwheat at the Path to River shack on Interchange
  • Stash a Bottle of Tarkovskaya vodka at the Path to River shack on Interchange
  • Stash an Iskra ration pack at the Path to River shack on  Interchange

Results

  • 5000 EXP
  • +0.01 Rep with Prapor
  • 21110 Roubles
  • 1x 5.45x39mm 7N40 ammo pack (120 pcs)
  • 3x AK-12 5.45x39 early model 30-round magazine
  • 1x Kalashnikov AK-12 5.45x39 assault rifle

Completing the Task

This quest is quite easy and thankfully, all the placements only take five seconds each instead of the 15-30 you see in Tarkov's other tasks, which makes it easy to get in and get out. You don't even need to successfully exfil, so if you really want to, you could run around with a pistol and minimal protection and just die instead of running around more - but where's the fun in that?

Start by heading to Woods with your three items - Vodka, Buckwheat, and Iskra, and make your way over to the Scav house, located near the Outskirts extract point. Once there, enter the house and place the items. They decorated, it's so pretty.

The lonely house, which always has some fun Scav action.

Go inside and place the items near the boxes. Easy in, easy out.

The next part of the quest, we're going to visit Reserve. Once again, with Vodka, Buckwheat, and Iskra in-hand, make your way over to the guard barrack, in the north-west corner of the map behind the train station.

  • You will need to go into the left-side guard barracks.
  • Once entering, turn right and go into the small room with the knocked over table and two shelving units.
  • You can "Place" the items by walking up to the table.

The easiest extract therefore will be at the train station, so find a spot to camp and wait for the train to take you home, or run across the map and visit your other favourite extract.

Go to the right once inside, the room is ahead.

Place your items here.

Finally, we get to visit Interchange and one of the new spots added in the 1.0 update - don't forget to bring your items. Path to River is an extract located in front of the mall, on the other side of the rail tracks and it is here that we need to place the final three items. A small shack near the barrier at the edge of the new camp is where everything is going to be left, so stash the items and get out!

This area is certainly going to be hotly contested, much like all the areas you will need to visit, but this was already a great place to loot so be in high guard. If you want to use the camp as your exfil, you'll need a green signaling flare to do so, so plan accordingly.

Place the items near the locker.

Clearing the Way

This task released on December 24, 2025.

Our second task takes us to Customs with the Skier, and it's a very simple one - kill 20 targets. You don't need our help for this one, take your favourite gun and equipment and get to fighting! If you hear gunfire, run in that direction and get your rewards.

Results

  • 12000 EXP
  • +0.0.1 Rep with Skier
  • 50664 Roubles
  • 2x Set of files "Master"
  • 2x Smoked Chimney drain cleaner

Kolotun

This task released on December 24, 2025.

Our third task in the series comes from Jaeger, who gives us the task that is the namesake of the event, Kolotun.

Kolotun requires that you extract from every single map, other than Labs and Terminal, when you have a Frostbite effect.

This is not a particularly difficult task, just time consuming. Jump into each map, find an exfil, and wait around until your character has Frostbite. You'll want to pick extract points which are outdoors so that you can keep your status effect with no chance of it going away.

Results

  • 18000 EXP
  • +0.01 Rep with Jaeger
  • 75996 Roubles
  • 2x Dry fuel
  • 2x Metal fuel tank
  • 5x .308 ME ammo pack (20 pcs)
  • 1x Marlin MXLR .308 ME lever-action rifle

Come by the Fire

This task released on December 25, 2025.

This one will require 4x MS2000 Marker and take place on the Woods map. Not only do you need to equip a Pompon hat (provided) to kill 5 targets on Woods, but you also must mark "spots" from "Skier's route".

Results

  • 10000 Exp
  • +0.01 Rep with Skier
  • 42000 Roubles
  • 1× TDI KRISS Vector Gen.2 9x19 submachine gun
  • 4× Glock 9x19 "Big Stick" 33-round magazine
  • 4× 9x19mm AP 6.3 ammo pack (50 pcs)

Completing the Task

You're going to be on your own for the kills, since its Woods though we're recommending you stick to long-range weapons and that you stay as stealthy as possible.

For the remaining parts of the task though, there are four spots we need to visit, so obtain 4x MS2000 Marker from Prapor let's go visit them! You can do these in any order, ideally hitting them up in whatever order makes the most sense depending on where you spawned from. No extraction from the map is necessary so if you die, don't worry. Just make sure you make use of your Special slots on your character so if you do die, you don't lose three of your MS2000 Markers. The entire route takes place on the east side of the map, so at least we don't have to run all over. We're going from the EMERCOM Camp up towards the Vehicle Extract at the north-eastern bridge.

The first location takes us to the big tent inside of the EMERCOM Camp. It is very difficult to miss and there are usually people around it so put on your Pompon hat and go to town. Once you've placed your marker at the tent, and defend it, we're moving on.

The second location is inside the ZB-106 Bunker. This is located in the west of the Eastern Rocks Exfil. The green smoke isn't always there, but it's sure nice when it is.

The third location is at the Old Sawmill. You will want to go to the house that has the large antenna coming out of it to place your marker.

The fourth and final location is in the north-eastern village. There is a small house with a large yard that is at the north-western side of the village. Place your marker here and with some luck, you may be able to take the vehicle extract to get out.

Knuckle Sandwich

This task released on December 25, 2025.

This task requires stashing 4x TP-200 TNT Brick at the same locations from the first quest. Gah, if only Prapor knew that he wanted to sabotage Skier before we went through all that effort. Since the locations are the exact same, look above at the previous quest to see where to go. The bricks of TNT are provided to you by Prapor, so don't worry about needing your own.

If you had resistance when doing the previous quest, you may want to accomplish this over multiple runs in Woods to save on having to buy additional bricks of TNT since you can't utilize the same trick of keeping them in your Special slots.

You will also need to kill 15 targets on Woods while wearing the Ushanka ear flap hat. This will likely take you a couple of games, so again, don't worry about visiting all 4 TNT spots in one round.

Results

  • 15000 Exp
  • +0.01 Rep with Prapor
  • 63000 Roubles
  • 2x Electric Drill
  • 2x Spark Plug

Community Goal - Pick a Side

This task released on December 29, 2025.

You can side with Prapor or Skier and take part in two new tasks. Both have their own choice of headwear that will help contribute to an overall PMC kill total for that task. These tasks are slightly different between PVP and PVE, with the PVP version of the tasks requiring that you only kill players of the opposing side.

Stay Frosty - Prapor

  • PVP - Eliminate PMC operatives in Pompon hats while wearing a Ushanka ear flap hat
  • PVE - Eliminate PMC operatives while wearing a Ushanka ear flap hat

Skiing With Skier - Skier

  • PVP - Eliminate PMC operatives in Ushanka ear flap hats while wearing a Pompon hat
  • PVE - Eliminate PMC operatives while wearing a Pompon ear flap hat

A Small Celebration

This task released on December 31, 2025.

Ragman is joining in on the Kolotun fun with a new task to celebrate the new year and he wants nothing to do with the ongoing Prapor and Skier fued. This one is easy, you just need to shoot off a firework, eat some salad, and drink a vodka.

Results

  • Event achievement: Whiteout
  • You can now purchase
  • 20000 Exp
  • +0.01 Rep with Ragman
  • 90000 Roubles
  • 2x Crye Precision AVS plate carrier (Ranger Green) (2)
  • 1x Ballistic plate case

Completing the Task

The two easiest parts of this don't even require going into a raid to complete. Eating Salad and drinking Vodka outside of raid will also give you credit for the quest, making two thirds of this simple. If you don't want to hunt down either of them, buy them off the Flea Market. Now for the other part of the quest, launching the firework, you're in luck because it's at least provided to you.

You can launch the firework at any Christmas Tree that is setup in-raid; I'm personally a big fan of visiting the tree on Customs because it feels the safest for me, but by this point, you likely have a favourite tree as well. The firework will fit in your special slot, so put it in the slot as to not lose it if you end up dying mid-raid.

This will reward you with a Festive Airdrop Supply Crate too, so stick around and wait for some epic looting to begin.

BTR Driver

The BTR Driver has a task as well! This is not a part of the main line of tasks, but a couple of topographical survey maps is a great reward.

Cold Start

This task released on December 24, 2025.

Completing cold start is simple as it only requires handing in 4x Fuel Conditioner to the BTR Driver. These do not have to be found in raid so you can buy them on the flea market to complete the task. The BTR Driver can be found on Woods and Streets of Tarkov.

This quest will reward you with 13000 Exp, 2x Topographical Survey Maps, and 50000 Roubles.

Thanks for reading and congratulations on completing your new set of tasks for the Kolotun event and earning the Whiteout acheivement. What was your favourite part?
