One of Sony's biggest State of Play presentations happened earlier today (or late yesterday, depending on who you ask), and it had quite a number of announcements. In this article, we'll look over all of them, split into two major sections: New Announcements, and Updates on What We Knew. We'll also mention if the games will come to other platforms, since a lot of the announcements are third party. Let's get into it!
New Announcements
Kena: Scars of Kosmora - PS5, Steam, Epic
Kicking the presentation off, we have a sequel to 2021's Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Travel the world and help restless spirits pass to the afterlife, while also helping heal the world around you, all wrapped in a nice Pixar art style. The game is slated to release later this year.
Legacy of Kain: Defience Remastered - PS4 and 5, Xbox One and Series, Switch 1 and 2, Steam, Epic, GOG
The 4th game in the Legacy of Kain series. Follow the vampire lord Kaine and his lieutenant Raziel as they travel back in time to learn what led to the world becoming corrupt and doomed. The game releases on March 21st.
Legacy of Kain: Ascendance - PS4 and 5, Xbox One and Series, Switch 1 and 2, Steam, Epic, GOG
Ok, this one wasn't actually part of the State of Play stream, but it's lumped with the other trailers on the PlayStation YouTube channel, and it's a new Kain game, so I'm counting it. This is a metroidvania set in the Legacy of Kain universe with 3 protagonists: Kain, Raziel, and newcomer Elaleth, who was introduced in the "The Dead Shall Rise" graphic novel.
Brigandine Abyss - PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Steam
A new game in the Bringadine series, which are turn-based tactics games set in a fantasy world with an anime art-style. Control six different protagonists as they try to stop an evil empire from conquering the continent. Game is slated to launch later this year.
Dead or Alive 6 Last Round - PS5, Xbox Series, Steam
A remaster of the 2019 Dead or Alive 6, updated for modern consoles. Launches June 25th.
Dead or Alive New Project - PS5, probably others
We also got a titser, I mean teaser for a brand-new entry in the series. No release date for this one.
Crimson Moon - PS5, Xbox Series, Steam, Epic
You are a nephelim, a half-human-half-angel being tasked with protecting humanity from demonic hordes. Face the enemy alone or with a friend in this action-souls-like with adaptive difficulty and interesting monster design. Coming later this year.
Neva: Prologue - PC, Mac, PS4 and 4, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch
DLC for Neva, which is already out on multiple platforms. Learn how the two main characters meet, and help them on their journey. Releases February 19th.
Yakoh Shinobi Ops - PS5, Steam
An isometric stealth game set in Japan (probably, the game has Shinobi in the title). Control one of 4 playable characters as you sneak around and try to assassinate your target. The game is slated to release in 2027.
Project Windless - PS5, probably others
An action game set in the world of The Bird That Drinks Tears, a Korean high-fantasy setting. The pitch from the trailer seems pretty simple: Foghorn Leghorn in the Korean equivalent of Lord of the Rings, with Dinasty Warriors-like combat.
METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol.2 - PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 1 and 2, Steam
Konami had a really strong showing at this State of Play. Kicking things off with the second Metal Gear collection, this one including MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots, a game that was never released outside the PlayStation 3 due to its reliance on the hardware. The collection also includes MGS: Peace Walker, MGS: Ghost Babel, and a digital soundtrack.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse - PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, Steam
A brand new metroidvania set in the Castlevania universe, focusing on Trevor Belmont, though it doesn't look like he's the playable character. Game relases later this year.
Silent Hill: Townfall - PS5, Steam, Epic
A brand-new entry in the Silent Hill franchise, following Simon Ordell as he tries to uncover the mysteries of the island of St. Amelia. The game is developed by Annapurna Interactive and Screen Burn, and will release later this year.
Rev. Noir - PS5
Finally from Konami, we have a brand-new IP, an action JRPG set in a fantasy world. Not many details about the game, other than the protagonist must stop the "light fall".
Untitled John Wick Game - PS5, Xbox Series, Steam
Yeah. John Wick is getting a game. We got a short glimpse at gameplay, and we know it's developed by Saber Interactive, but we don't know much else about the game at the moment.
God of War Trilogy - PS5
Zeus! Your son has returned! He brings remakes of the God of War trilogy, staring Kratos' orignal voice actor, TC Carson! Unfortunately, we'll have to wait a while for these, as they've just started development.
God of War Sons of Sparta - PS5
But if you need your God of War fix, the State of Play ended with the announcement of Sons of Sparta, a prequel exploring Kratos' life with his brother, Deimos. The game is a 2D pixel-art metroidvania, letting you play as the two young spartans before Deimos was taken away. Oh, and it's out NOW!
Updates on What We Knew

Like Ghost of Tsushima before it, Yotei is getting a free multiplayer mode. Team up with a group of firends to take down various mythological monsters, including yokai versions of the Yotei Six from the main story. Launches on March 10th. Hopefully the legends storyteller won't be spread all across the map this time.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach - PC
Death Stranding 2 is coming to PC, too. The port will be handled by Nixxes, who have handled most of Sony's ports and have a good (though not spotless) record. The game will be available on March 19th. Already out on PS5.
