We're back after our weekend break to give you... Magehunter cards. Or rather, Mage AND Hunter cards. No I'm not making a joke about Sean Plott, that's too easy.
Colossals are back! When you summon a Colossal minion, it'll split up into multiple different appendages that have their own effects, and created one GIANT threat on the board.
Herald and Shatter are also two new keywords in Cataclysm. Herald cards build up the strength of your Colossal, by summoning a Soldier with the same ability as the appendages. Shatter cards split into two cards when they're added to your hand, going to the left and right-most spots in your hand, and merge back into one card when they're adjacent in your hand.
We've got all of the information about the set right here, and don't forget that as the first set of the year, there will also be a new Core set. You can found out about the new Core set right here, and there's also the ongoing Rally the Dragonflights event that you can sign up for to give every player some new cards.
We've got a collection of cards below for today.

Archmage Kalec - Its enough of a gamechanger for mage, to perhaps encourage something that isnt combo. At current moment theres not enough revealed to show what this can do but you can rarely go wrong with a card like this. Only problem is obviously building around a card that cant be tutored, so the later you draw this card the more likely you'll be losing the game.
Spellweaver's Brilliance - I think this card is OP but theres still a chance it sees zero play because mage is shit, or the meta turns into control. Basically this card is a follow up to just about every AoE in mage's arsenal, and cards like sleet storm will ensure this card comes down as early as possible for tempo. Only mage deck that wont play this is combo, it even has a decent chance of appearing in aggro decks.
Ebonscale Scout & Stonetalon Striker - There's definitely an effort to create a sort of dragon hunter that rapidly scales out of control if they ever find the cheap dragons from their deck, and that pretty much sums up this, and indeed all cards that are like this. You pretty much need alot of draw options, and a good deal of cheap dragons. Does hunter have any of these cards? Draw alone is moot, so just pray hard theres loads of cheap dragons revealed later otherwise all these great cards turns to shit.
Confront the Tol'vir - Theres just no chance this doesnt see any play. Its effect is just too good, and at a price of 3 mana, it seems a bit far too good. Not sure what the interactions would look like after you get tolvir carver to reduce the 1st copy to 1 mana, play it, and will the 2nd copy result in a forever loop?
