At the cost of two less health, Ironbeak Owl lets you silence any minion and can bypass Taunts. That card isn't even run, and the health difference doesn't really matter much since you shouldn't expect Magehunter to survive and attack again most of the time. Demon Hunter already has a bunch of good cards; they don't want to be running a situational card like this.
I think this card is absurdly strong because it works in so many different situation. Many have said that Consume Magic makes this card irrelevant, but the abundance of Evasive minions and minions with annoying effects but not Consume Magic worth effects is ubiquitous.
Being able to invalidate more taunt, deathrattle, and healing minions is really strong for a class that looks to aggro the opponent down quickly.
I think you will not put this and Consume Magic in one deck, as you do not need that many Silence cards. In any other class though this will be guaranteed to see a lot of play as a tech card.
Imho I think Spellbreaker is better, because you silence something and have a 4/3 on board. On the other hand, Magehunter will not survive the hit, you can silence, but no minion still on board
I think I hate this card more than any other Demon Hunter card right now. Every single 'evasive' minion just got punked. They remove Spellbreaker, then print this just for the one class that doesn't need it...

Useful for taking out multiple Blood Heralds, I guess.

So if this strikes a deathrattle or a reborn with 2 or less health, will it silence it before the effect is triggered?
It says "Whenever," so yes.
