Well, it was bound to happen eventually. Nintendo just announced it's increasing the price of its Nintendo Switch systems across the board in Japan, and for the Switch 2 in the rest of the world.
For the worldwide audience, the price increase will happen on September 1st, so there's still time to snag one before it goes up (assuming retailer don't increase the price pre-emptively). Here's a breakdown (not an exhaustive list):
US: From 449.99 USD to 499.99 USD.
Canada: From 629.99 CAD to 679.99 CAD.
Europe: From 469.99 EUR to 499.99 EUR.
Things are quite a bit bleaker in Japan. Starting May 25th, the price of both the Switch 2 and all models of the original Switch will go up, as well as the price of Nintendo Online memberships. Furthermore, the price of playing cards and Hanafuda/Kabufuda cards will now be Open Price. Check Nintendo's official statement for a detailed breakdown.
