The Steam Deck Is Back in Stock... With a Massive Price Increase

Published 22 hours ago by

If you've been looking into getting a Steam Deck, we have good news and bad news. The good news is that it's finally back in stock! The bad news is that said stock was likely acquired after the RAM and storage prices went into the stratosphere. Well, ok, both Nintendo and Sony increase their prices recently, how much are we talking? 50 USD? 100?

200 USD for the 512GB model, 300 for the 1TB, at least on the Steam Store. This puts the former model at 789 USD, and the latter at 949. And unfortunately, these are the cheapest options, as the 256GB model has been discontinued. This does not bode well for the price of the Steam Machine.

What are your thoughts on these increases? Did you manage to get a Deck, and if not, will you, or are you looking for alternatives? Let us know in the comments below!

  • For folks who want a Steam Deck without the big price increase, Valve also has refurbished systems available!

The prices are $629 USD and $759 USD respectively, a solid chunk of change to go towards games. More info on their refurb process can be found on that page, it's pretty neat!
