Fable Delayed: Xbox Pushes Release to February 2027, New Look Coming June 7

XBOX has announced that the upcoming Fable game, which was due to release in Fall 2026 now has a revised release date of February 2027. According to XBOX, this is d ue to give it the "dedicated moment it deserves".

Quote From XBOX

In order to plan our game launches through the holidays, in a way that works best for players, we’re moving Fable to February 2027 so it can have the dedicated moment it deserves. We’re excited to be giving players a major new look at Fable, as well as our broader lineup, at XBOX Games Showcase on June 7.

Considering that Grand Theft Auto is expected in November, which will easily be the largest game release of the year, it makes a lot of sense to space out big releases away from that. Competing with Grand Theft Auto, and the other AAA titles are are certainly going to come out in Fall, could turn a game from an overwhelming success to just a successful launch.

Waiting a few extra months does suck for everyone who was looking forward to the release of Fable's newest title, however, we still will be getting to see more from the game in the upcoming Summer Game Fest!

Quote From Fable

We know this stings, but it won’t be much longer before you’re back in Albion making morally questionable decisions.

We’ll be sharing some big Fable reveals @XBOX Showcase on June 7th, so be sure to tune in.
