Insomniac Games pulled back the curtain on Marvel's Wolverine at San Diego Comic-Con today, dropping a brand-new Story Trailer and a stack of fresh details ahead of the game's September launch. If you couldn't make it to the "Marvel's Wolverine: Deep Cuts" panel in person, don't worry - we've got you covered on everything that went down.
What does the new Story Trailer reveal?
The panel kicked off with a surprise: a brand-new Story Trailer. It sets the stage with an enraged Logan confronting Jean Grey in an abrupt, vulnerable moment. The trailer also puts the spotlight on The Hand, one of the game's new enemy factions, alongside Deathstrike, one of the big bads Logan will square off against.
Insomniac also dropped new art from the game showing Logan going head-to-head with The Hand in their trademark red garb. According to the studio, Logan and The Hand share a history that players will uncover as they tear through the story.
The MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls crossover
Here's a fun one for fighting-game fans. Insomniac announced a collaboration with Arc System Works that brings Wolverine's suit from MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls into Marvel's Wolverine, offering a stylized alternate look that can be unlocked through game progression on Day 1.
The crossover goes both ways, too. The Marvel's Wolverine Battle Reborn suit will be available in MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls - and best of all, it'll be free for all MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls players starting September 1.
Who composed the music?
The panel revealed that award-winning composer David Fleming crafted the music for Marvel's Wolverine. Insomniac says Fleming delivers enormous impact to the story, with musical cues and swells that dynamically shift alongside Logan's intense journey around the globe. A track from the game is already available to listen to, and the full soundtrack releases on August 28, 2026.
There's a digital prequel comic, too
Want to get up to speed before the main story? Insomniac has you covered with a prequel comic written by Narrative Director Walt Williams, with art by Luke Ross and a cover by Iban Coello.

The prequel comic sets up Logan's arduous relationship with members of Team X in a mission to protect mutant kind.
It's available starting today as an exclusive SDCC giveaway, and you can also read it online via Marvel Unlimited.
When does Marvel's Wolverine release?
Marvel's Wolverine releases on September 15, 2026 exclusively for PlayStation 5. You can wishlist and pre-order the Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions via the PlayStation Store, and the Standard Edition is also available to pre-order through PlayStation Direct.
