Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have released the Confrontation Update, the final major update of a content-packed second year for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Also known as Patch 14, the PvP-focused update is available now for free on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and it arrives alongside two new cosmetic DLCs for the Salamanders and Raptors.
What's in the Confrontation Update?
PvP is the star of the patch. The update adds two new arenas for Eternal War, plus fresh weekly rewards, a new Terminus boss, and a big batch of Heroic weapon variants and armour pieces to earn. Here's the rundown of what Patch 14 brings across all game modes:
Two new PvP arenas: Sanctum and Facility, Eternal War's sixth and seventh playable maps.
New Weekly PvP rewards and Ordeals: Earn Accolades and cosmetic rewards by playing Eternal War matches and completing Datavault challenges.
New Terminus enemy: The Thousand Sons' Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer joins the fray. You may encounter him in every Operation involving Chaos and throughout Siege waves.
Six Heroic weapon variants: Spend Accolades to unlock a new Melta Rifle variant, a new Chainsword, a Bolt Carbine Combi-Flamer, a new Power Fist with integrated Meltagun, a Deathwatch-inspired Stalker Bolt Rifle, and the Executioner's Axe variant for the Thunder Hammer.
Three Heroic armour pieces: Earn a new Ultramarines pauldron and two Deathwatch cosmetics with Patch 14's new breastplate and left gauntlet.

What are the new DLCs?
On top of the free content, the Confrontation Update ships with two cosmetic DLCs for all Season Pass 2 owners. The Salamanders Champion Pack 2 lets you set your enemies ablaze with a new champion skin for the Heavy class and a Multi-Melta skin, while the Raptors Cosmetic Pack delivers five unique armour pieces honouring the chapter's signature combat doctrine.

Closing out Year 2
Focus and Saber framed Patch 14 as the last big drop of Space Marine 2's second year, and they're clearly proud of how packed it's been. Here's how the studios put it:
