Blizzard is opening the doors to the next round of Diablo IV testing, with the 3.2.0 Public Test Realm (PTR) running from August 4 at 10:00 a.m. PDT to August 11 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. It's your chance to try out a batch of features and changes headed to the base game across both the Eternal and Seasonal Realms ahead of Season 15 - and, ahead of BlizzCon.
The whole point of the PTR is to let players test a selection of updates before the season goes live, including new legacy Uniques, Soul Splinters, character Rebirth, the new Horadric Post, and more. Blizzard uses feedback gathered during this window to fine-tune balance, squash bugs, and polish these new systems before they hit the live game, so be prepared for more bugs than usual.
You can provide feedback through the in-game feedback tool of the Diablo IV PTR forums. Pressing the ESC key in the in-game menu will bring up the Report a Bug menu. You can select the dropdown filter and select the in-game feedback tool to provide feedback without leaving the game.
Why does this PTR feel a little different?
If the 3.2.0 offering looks slimmer or stranger than you're used to, that's on purpose. Blizzard says it's holding cards back for BlizzCon, and didn't want everything coming with Season 15 to be visible before it gets a chance to talk it through in more detail.
Quote From Blizzard We have more to share at BlizzCon, and we didn't want all that's coming with Season 15 to be available before we get a chance to talk more about it. BlizzCon awaits...
If you're already planning your BlizzCon weekend, we've got you covered - the BlizzCon 2026 digital bundles are already live, along with free rewards for Heroes of the Storm and StarCraft II players.
What are Soul Splinters?
Soul Splinters are new Unique socketables that provide power "with a bite" - each one pairs a strong buff with a real drawback, so you'll want to think carefully about how they fit into a build. They come in five rarities (Common, Magic, Rare, Legendary, and Unique), can be upgraded in the Horadric Cube, and slot into jewelry while providing elemental and physical resistances.

The values below scale between the different Item Quality tiers:
Quote From Blizzard
Splinter of Anguish
250/175/2625/4375 Fire Resistance
You gain 15/20/25/35%[+] Critical Strike Chance and Attack Speed, but your Primary Resource Costs are increased by 30%.
Splinter of Sin
250/175/2625/4375 Lightning Resistance
You gain 10/20/30/40%[x] Maximum Health, but your Maximum Primary Resource is reduced by 30%.
Splinter of Lies
250/175/2625/4375 Cold Resistance
You gain 40/60/80/100% increased Gold Drop Rate, Crafting Material Drop Rate, and 25% Bonus Experience, but you are always Weakened and Vulnerable.
Splinter of the Black Soulstone
7/20/30/50 All Stats
Killing enemies absorbs a soul for 15 seconds. Each soul increases your damage by 2/3/4/5%[x], but increases your damage taken by 0.5%. This effect stacks but does not refresh.
Splinter of Pain
250/175/2625/4375 Poison Resistance
You gain 10/20/30/40% Damage Reduction, but you lose 30% Movement Speed.
Splinter of the Mother
250/175/2625/4375 Physical Resistance
You are Unhindered. Touching enemies makes them Vulnerable for 10 seconds. After touching 100/150/200/250 enemies, you are Stunned for 4 seconds.
Splinter of Hellfire
35/50/375/625 Resistance to All Elements
You deal 40/60/80/100%[x] increased damage but lose 100% Critical Strike Chance.
Splinter of Damnation
250/175/2625/4375 Shadow Resistance
Killing an Elite Pack increases Monster Power by 1 for 10/15/20/25 seconds.

What new activities are on the PTR?
Two encounter types are being put through their paces, though Blizzard is clear that these builds exist to test the underlying systems - the final Season 15 versions will feature different content.
Challenge Dungeons - Entered through portals that open in the Overland, these pit you against a fearsome boss. In Torment difficulties, you can dial the fight up to three Torment tiers above your current difficulty for greater rewards.
Overland Ambush - While roaming the Overland, on rare occasions a demon will start hunting you. You'll get a warning that you're about to become prey and have 30 seconds to flee or fight. Blizzard bills it as a difficult encounter meant to test Sanctuary's strongest warriors.
Which Legacy Uniques are coming back?
Ten legacy Uniques have been pulled from Sanctuary's distant past, drawn from the original Diablo, Diablo II, and Diablo III - the kind of gear veteran players will recognize on sight. Five will be usable by all classes, and five will be available to a mix of classes. These are permanent additions available in all versions of Diablo IV.

All Classes:
Leoric's Crown (Helm)
Nemesis Bracers (Gloves)
Ring of Royal Grandeur (Ring)
Stone of Jordan (Ring)
Squirt's Blouse (Chest) - Squirt's Necklace incorporated into a Chest piece

Multiple Classes:
Arioc's Needle (2H Polearm) - Barbarian, Druid, Spiritborn
Henri's Perquisition (Offhand Focus) - Sorcerer, Necromancer, Warlock
In-Geom (1H Sword) - Barbarian, Druid, Rogue, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock
The Furnace (2H Mace) - Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock
Messerschmidt's Reaver (2H Axe) - Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock (coming in Season 15, not testable on the PTR)
These play like typical Uniques in terms of power and utility. The Unique affixes stay reminiscent of their original powers but may be adjusted to fit current itemization. Leoric's Crown is a good example - it originally increased the effect of any non-Legendary gem socketed into the helm by 75-100%, while in Diablo IV it counts as Jewelry and increases the effect of any gem socketed into the helm by 75-100%.
What's changing with Mythic Uniques?
Blizzard is reworking Mythic Uniques and Iconic Mythics to make the system simpler, offer more crafting choices, and give you far more control over that one major carry piece. The methods to create Mythic Uniques stay the same, but the outcomes are now far more deterministic.
There are two crafting paths:
Horadric Cube - Upgrade Direct Item to Mythic. This is more expensive than the Blacksmith or Jeweler recipes, but it's a total 1:1 transfer with the random factors gone. Feed in an ideal item with dialed-in Tempering and Masterworking, and you'll get a Mythic-ized version with all affixes and modifications retained. You can't use it on an Unmodifiable item, so be careful with Transfiguring a prized candidate.
Jeweler (Rune Crafting > Mythic Uniques) - Combines Resplendent Sparks and Runes. You choose a slot (1-Handed Weapon, Ring, and so on) and get a random class-specific Mythic Unique from that slot.
Items made via the Horadric Cube's Upgrade Direct recipe carry a Crafted tag, and you can equip only one Crafted-tag item at a time. Mythic Uniques created through the Jeweler's method won't have that tag.
What else is on the way?
The 3.2.0 PTR also previews new Mythic and Unique Charms, character Rebirth, and the new Horadric Post, plus the returning Codex - with plenty more being held back until BlizzCon. Blizzard is once again asking players to jump in, break things, and share feedback so it can refine everything before Season 15 goes live.

What is the Horadric Post you ask?

Quote From Blizzard The Horadric Post is a new way for the Diablo IV team to deliver rewards and messages directly to your account. During PTR, you'll receive an early commemorative reward to help us test the system before Season 15.
The Horadric Post will occasionally contain important deliveries directly to your account, carrying rewards, supplies, and commemorative items.
This system is one-way, a blessed PO box straight from the ether.
Will you be diving into the PTR to test out Soul Splinters and the returning Legacy Uniques, or holding out for the full BlizzCon reveal? Let us know in the comments.
