Street Fighter 6 Year 4 Kicks Off Today as Yasmine Becomes the Roster's First Filipino Fighter

Street Fighter 6 Year 4 is officially underway, and today Yasmine becomes the first Filipino martial artist to join the roster, arriving across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. She kicks things off by asking us to choose between the Way of the Oni or the Way of the Fist, and we are more than happy to cut loose alongside her.

Yasmine learned the art of Eskrima alongside her Kuya (older brother) under the guidance of her Lolo (grandfather). Now she is out to dice up the competition with her Karambit knife in Fighting Ground and the Battle Hub, all while setting out to find her missing brother.

Who is Yasmine and how does she fight?

Yasmine favors high-speed combat techniques that chip away at opponents using precise cuts. Her aggressive and often acrobatic style gives her plenty of options for chasing down opponents or extending her combos. Successfully executing her moves places Yasmine in an amped state known as Bayani Mode.

She is the first character to be released from the Year 4 roster, which also includes Arjun, Tifa from the FINAL FANTASY VII Remake Series, and Bosch.

How do you unlock Yasmine and her outfits?

Yasmine is available now for players who own or purchase the Year 4 Character Pass or Year 4 Ultimate Pass. She comes with two looks to show off:

  • Outfit 1 showcases her in Eskrima combat attire.

  • Outfit 2 depicts Yasmine in her school uniform between bouts. It can be unlocked by maxing out her Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or with Fighter Coins.

What is changing for the rest of the roster?

Yasmine's release coincides with Battle Balance adjustments for the entire Street Fighter 6 roster, so it is worth checking out the Battle Change List to see what is new for your main.

Quote From STREET FIGHTER 6

This battle adjustment was done with the aim of shifting the game's balance by looking at every character and making adjustments.

While we believe the game's balance has reached a reasonably stable state thanks to repeated adjustments, the relative strength of each character has not shifted significantly in recent updates. Due to this, we decided to implement changes specifically to shake things up.

Please note that there are no adjustments applied universally to all characters.

Modern Control Adjustments
With this battle adjustments we've updated certain normal moves (ones that utilize the attack button) and special moves (ones that utilize the SP button) for specific characters. Additionally, for moves that are performed by pressing Down+SP, you can now select the strength of the special move by inputting SP with Down-back, Down or Down-Forward.

This adjustment requires players to relearn specific moves and adds a layer of complexity to the controls, but were done with the aim of improving usability and providing Modern control players with a larger range of options while in the neutral. Please note that Assisted Combos have also been updated for some characters to reflect these changes. Please refer to the character-specific sections for full details.

What is the Way of the Oni x The Way of the Fist event?

On August 7, the Way of the Oni x The Way of the Fist collaboration event begins. Here is what to expect:

  • All players who log in during the event will receive special colors.

  • The Battle Hub gets an Onimusha-inspired makeover.

  • A special Street Voter runs to commemorate the event, with the theme "Your Favorite Genma."

  • Obtain additional votes to earn Genma stickers and camera frames.
