ARC Raiders has rolled out Store Update 1.40.0, and it's bringing two fresh colour variants for the Volare outfit alongside a brand new event called Phantom Targets. Developer Embark also used the announcement to acknowledge a couple of issues the community has been reporting, including a Queen and Matriarch stomp exploit and some PC launch errors.
What's new in Store Update 1.40.0?
The headline additions here are cosmetic and event-based. Embark is adding new looks to the wardrobe and launching the first part of a new Player Project. Here's the quick rundown:

What is the Phantom Targets event?
The new event kicks off a fresh storyline for Raiders to dig into. According to Embark, Shani has noticed some discrepant surveillance data but hasn't yet pinned down the source, so it's up to you to head out and investigate the strange readings.
In the first part of the Phantom Targets Player Project, you'll fix up faulty Antennas to triangulate the signals and take on the ARC with unconventional strategies. The second part of the Project is set to arrive with the 1.42 Update on August 18, alongside the Phantom Targets Event itself.
What about the Queen and Matriarch stomp exploit?
Embark confirmed it has seen the community's reports about the Queen and Matriarch stomp damage going through walls and landing from too far away. In its own words:

This follows the studio's recent cadence of regular store drops, like the Store Update 1.38.0 that added Torpedo colour variants and tweaked matchmaking as the Fourth Expedition departed.
