Knytt Classic Has Been Added to Steam and GoG

Internet users from the late 2000s might remember an indie game called Knytt. It was developed by a single person from Sweden by the alias of "Nifflas" and released as freeware. Catching on a simple platformer-metroidvania combo, it eventually spawned two sequel games, Knytt Stories and Knytt Underground.

The game celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and in honor of that, developer BitKid has released a port of the game on Steam and GoG, with controller support, achievements, and tons more.

The fun doesn't stop there though because it's entirely free. I can't guarantee that it'll stay that way forever, so you should get it as soon as you can. Still, it costs absolutely nothing to add another game to ever-growing Steam backlog with a taste of early internet nostalgia.

Did you play the original Knytt way back when? Are you picking up the modern port? Let us know in the comments below.
