PokemonXP is This Weekend! Pokopia Gets a World Championships Cloud Island

Grab your snacks and clear your weekend, because from Aug. 28-31 Trainers around the world are coming together to celebrate PokemonXP and the 2026 Pokemon World Championships, whether they're in San Francisco in person or watching from the couch at home. There's genuinely something here for everyone, and we've got the full rundown below.

How Can You Watch PokemonXP and the 2026 World Championships?

You can tune in on both Twitch and YouTube to catch all the action. The Opening Ceremonies kick off at 5:00 p.m. BST on Friday, Aug. 28, and the competition runs all weekend long.

What Is the Pokemon Pokopia Cloud Island?

Starting this weekend, players can visit a special Cloud Island in Pokemon Pokopia inspired by PokemonXP and the 2026 Pokemon World Championships. There's a small catch, though: the Cloud Island only becomes available once the password is revealed after the Opening Ceremonies wrap up on the PokemonXP broadcast, so you'll want to be watching live to grab it as soon as possible.

Pokemon Pokopia and Part 1: Bubbly Basin of the Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass paid DLC are available now for Nintendo Switch 2. Part 2 of the Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass will be available later this year.
