Skate. Season 5 'Big Air Retreat' Adds a Mountain-Sized Mega Park & More

Skate. Season 5, "Big Air Retreat," and it is landing on September 8. This one is a big deal for anyone who has been grinding through San Vansterdam, because Season 5 expands the city with an epic new destination, deeper social systems and an overhauled approach to progression, building on everything Full Circle has learned from players over the past year.

The headline attraction is the S.U.M.R. Camp Mega Park, a mountain-sized skate playground built for speed and creativity. It features over 30 unique runs designed for verticality, flow and discovery, and it sits alongside further evolutions in progression, social systems and live seasonal content.

What is the S.U.M.R. Camp Mega Park?

The S.U.M.R. Camp Mega Park is the centerpiece of the season, a massive mountain destination built for big air, big speed and vertical exploration. It is packed with huge ramps and over 30 unique lines to explore, and Full Circle is billing it as a bigger, wilder playground than Skate 2 and Skate 3.

  • Accessible via water taxi.

  • Initially available through the skate.Premium Pass at launch.

  • Broader access rolling out mid-season.

What new tricks and gameplay improvements are coming?

Season 5 adds fresh moves and traversal tweaks to keep your lines feeling smooth:

  • Underflips with sixteen variations.

  • Expanded Footplant mechanics, with four footplant variants refined to feel smoother and more natural.

  • Pumping improvements for smoother traversal.

How big are the new Meetups and Block Parties?

Block Parties become an official Meetup mode in Season 5, supporting up to 150 players in casual, competitive, drop-in skate events across San Vansterdam. There are four Block Party types to jump into:

  • Invitational

  • Pro Comp

  • Mixer

  • Block Blitz

Players can also create Spot Battles through the Throwdowns menu, choosing their preferred location and competitor count.

What is changing in San Vansterdam?

The city itself is getting some love too. Season 5 brings S.U.M.R. Camp inspired touches to San Vansterdam's Block Party Plaza, giving the space a more relaxed, rustic look, while construction begins at the former Hedgemont Community park. Arriving mid-season, Parry Point Park is a new street skating destination in Hedgemont along Blue Light Beach.

How does the progression overhaul work?

Season 5 introduces a revised progression system centered on Bounties, including Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Endless, Crew and Event Bounties. On top of that, players can complete non-expiring Challenges, weekly Spotlight Challenges, OTLs and Speedlines to earn rewards and progress through the skate.Pass.

What about new cosmetics and brands?

Naturally, there is a fresh haul of gear inspired by the Big Air theme, alongside new cosmetics, materials and brand integration. skate.Pass holders will be able to enjoy new brands including adidas Terrex, Carpet Company, Baker and Deathwish. Season 5 also welcomes new cosmetics partners including Converse, Online Ceramics, Primitive and more, plus refreshed cosmetics from existing brands such as Nike SB, Vans, Dickies and adidas.
