What Are You Playing? - Ambitious August 2026

We're already on August on this year? Holy shit.

To start off, I finished Easy Delivery Co., and I have a review of it right here (go read it!). I'm still grinding out that achievement on Super Woden GP.

I tried to play Denshattack, but then found out that my old computer can't play it. Learn from my mistake and read the required specs of the game before impulse buying it.

I'm slowly, but surely working my way through my backlog. I have a shit-ton of motorcycle racing games that I need to play. I'm currently on MotoGP 15.

  • Oh boy, another month has gone by and it feels like just yesterday it was July 1. RIP time.

    This month I'm planning on playing RuneScape Dragonwilds, I'd like to chill with some Pokopia with that new update hitting in the middle of the month, and Path of Exile 2 is certainly going to get some more play.

    Also I'll be playing Reelfest here on Out of Games! Oh and my Steam game page goes live this month so I'll be sure to break the news when that happens so I'll be playing that too (though I've been playing that quite a bit during development haha).

    Path of Exile 2 - I'm still having fun with it, not playing it daily anymore but I'm sitting at almost 170 hours for the expansion. My review has been a work in progress for the update, and I just feel that it's too wordy. There's just so much I have to say about the game and it's turned into such a wild essay that it's difficult to digest. I really wish i had of recorded most of my gameplay because it would have made for an amazing video essay. I'm still finalizing the wording, I'm really looking to get this out sometime this month to then have going into the full release later this year as a comparison point. The game is so solid though. Anyone who loves an ARPG and maybe found Path of Exile 1 to be too much, Path of Exile 2 does a better job at that, at least for now because the game is a bit simpler. That's not to say it's dumbed down, because it isn't, but it doesn't have as many seasonal systems yet and we're looking at incredible quality of life changes. The passive points tree is still intimidating for new players, but it's easy to just embrace it because it isn't as penalizing to respec down the line.

    It's called Connie and the Essence of Chaos. It's basically a Rayman 1 clone. As in like, the developer of the game is a Rayman fan game creator (and created Rayman Redemption, which is basically Rayman 1+), and the game makes absolutely zero attempt to disguise itself as a Rayman clone.

  • How is everyone's experience with Reelfest coming along? I've been sure not to miss a single day of the daily challenges, and I've currently caught 26/30 fish. At night, I've been honing in on getting that Legendary one. Eventually, I'm going to get it!

      I haven't been playing much this month so far with work on the site, work on Clickbait Tycoon finishing up for the Early Access launch this week, and just misc life stuff. However, I did login to POE2 this weekend and got some more maps in to say goodbye to my build. I've effectively finished everything I need to at this point for the league and now we're just waiting for the 1.0 release.

      I did also bust out Half-Life 2 of all things for a few hours. Just to explore that mid-2000s game design while getting a little nostalgia for things. It's so funny how low quality all the textures and poly counts are but the gameplay still feels pretty good and everything is so cohesive that it vibes anyway.

        Does Path of Exile 2's 1.0 release have an ETA/date? I bought into the early access and enjoyed the game, but I decided to hold off continuing until the 1.0 to experience it in full.

        • Not at exact date but that date is going to be announced in November at ExileCon. As far as I'm aware the 2026 launch has not changed so Nov/Dev is the estimated arrival.

  • Still playing DragonSword: Awakening in stops and starts - it's an MMO for singleplayers, practically, so it often feels like there's too much to do and I become drained. I've added in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix from the Steam collection: my plan is to skip KH1 (I don't like it anymore), finish KH2, replay Birth By Sleep, then finally progress in the series with Dream Drop Distance, Aqua's side story, and finish with Kingdom Hearts III. I've never completed the series before, but it feels daunting to replay the whole thing to get on the same page for the last game (at least until KH4 comes out next year).

    Beyond that, I've been playing multiplayer games again, with some fellow trans friends. Borderlands 3, Seamless Elden Ring mod, Monster Hunter: Wilds; I even reinstalled Marvel Rivals. Maybe I can overcome the negativity I now feel for competitive games, with someone by my side to play with.
