Number of Gaming Devices You Own
Demon's Poll today made me think about it and man, it's kinda wild just how many devices I have that are purpose-held for gaming.
Nintendo 64
Nintendo GameCube
Nintendo Wii
Nintendo WiiU
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch 2
PlayStation 4
PlayStation 5
XBOX One X
XBOX Series X
Analogue Pocket
Analogue 3D
Gameboy Advanced SP
Gameboy Color
3 clone Gameboys I bought at various times directly from China.
My Gaming PC
My Mac Studio I do game on, though it isn't purpose-built for gaming.
Also my phone can play games too but I don't know if I would personally consider it a gaming device anymore since I don't actively play any mobile games
There is almost certainly another device that I have not remembered. My PlayStation 2 sadly died a long time ago, and my original GameCube and N64 also met similar fates. I'd love to know exactly where my original N64 went... I know it's somewhere and I'm certain it does work but last known status was dead due to falling down a set of stairs. I never had an XBOX 360 or a PS3 so I'm lucky on that front. My cousins got our SNES at some point IIRC; I know they got our NES which is kinda bullshit because we had a solid game library back in the day and they didnt really appreciate it since it ended up getting donated away when they got some other console. I've been lucky outside of those two scenarios in that I have mostly original hardware.
I bought my newer N64 off ebay because I always wanted a funtastic icy colored N64 and the price was right when I picked it up - I paid $100 for it, an expansion pack, and two controllers. My non-original GameCube was purchased for $20 from GameStop and shipped from the US to Canada for free which I still don't understand how that one worked out for them as being worth it but the hilarious thing was I actually traded someone 2 thousand gold on World of Warcraft for a $50 GameStop Gift Card back in Wrath of the Lich King. I can't remember what I did with the rest of the gift card, I think I gave it to someone else though. To this day, it still works though I really wanted a Purple GameCube (My OG one was Platinum) and they sent me a Black one instead.
The chinese knockoff gameboys are an interesting bunch. The software and hardware is somewhat decent and the games run well. But honestly its more of a novelty to fool around with and I've not actually made any decent progress on any game on them; I'd rather enjoy them on my Analogue Pocket.
So what is your gaming hardware story? What hardware do you have kicking around? Are you playing anything on older devices at this point or just sticking to your PC or Phone?
