Guide
Hello There!
As soon as i saw Reno coming back to standard, i knew i had to try and make a Highlander Deck. I decided to go with Paladin for now because i always kinda like the Control-ish Paladin Route.
Also, this deck is not on the cheap side so F2P or Budget Players should be advised that this list is not Budget Friendly!! :) - if you have the cards you sureley can go for it but this is a theorycraft and has not been tested - so do not craft anything explicitly for this deck because right now i do not now how it will perform :)
The Gameplan :
We play the Control Route with this deck and try to fight for board control until we can put out Big Threats like Ragnaros, Lightlord or Brasswing for example. We also have quite the healing in the deck but Reno Jackson is there to save you from early aggresion. I also included Youthful Brewmaster so we can bounce Reno or other Stuff like Alexstrasza the Life-Binder or even Kazakus, Golem Shaper etc.
I put Kazakus in because we only play 1 other 4 Drop so it should be fairly easy to activate him. We also should be able to deal pretty well against aggro and early aggression with stuff like Doomsayer, Equality + City Tax or even Wild Pyromancer in combo with Equality to clear big things :)
One of the downsides - we do not have a lot of draw. Acolyte of Pain and Flash of Light help us out a little bit and also later on Varian, King of Stormwind can provide a little bit of draw but still you should think about your mulligan because if you draw all the big stuff and can not deal with early aggression it could be hard to bounce back.
Cards you should look for the mulligan:
Mistress of Mixtures, Blessed Goods, Righteous Protector or even Sir Finley Mrrgglton help you out early. If Sir Finley could also get you the Warlock Hero Power to draw cards and the healing we have should be enough to compensate for the Hero Power. But you should pick a hero power according to what you're playing against. Against Aggro for example i would advise to pick (if possible) something to protect you like Warrior Armor or Priest Healing.
Tech cards:
Well not sure if they are realy tech cards but i guess you could swap them if the meta is different than what i thought it would be. Cards like Rustrot Viper or Far Watch Post could be changed. The Viper is in their because i think there could be some dangerous weapons in the meta and the Watch Post is just there to slow down some decks. Also the Youthful Brewmaster is not a must have - i just thought he could be useful to bounce healing etc. We could also rethink Cariel Roame so our Kazakus would always be active but that's a choice every player should make for themselves :)
Hope you have fun with the new expansion and if you try this deck i would love some feedback!
Good Luck and have fun !
Edit:
I made a small change - i took out Kazakus, Golem Shaper and put in Ambassador Faelin. Works better because the Colossal minions are pretty good.
