Now THIS is a great spell if there is any: taking out an attacker/blocker for 1 turn is not too bad but not worth a card. When it comes attached to a +1/+1 grant for 2 mana it is actually very strong because it will make the combat phase of the turn you play this card really awkward for the opponent.
It is better on offence than it is on defence since it doesn't cover open attacks but it's a really good card for aggro/midrange decks for sure
