Random Champion card removed from vaults

I just read this on the most recent news article on the Legends of Runeterra website:

I'm not sure how I feel about this. An expedition token is nice but I really liked the idea of consistently getting a champion each week. I also can't find the exact rewards you can get for expeditions so if someone else does please let me know. If it's not too difficult to get a champion card from expeditions (or enough shards to craft one) I can understand and like this change much better.

 

EDIT: Okay nevermind, in the video in which they explain expeditions they say that you're guaranteed a champion card from expeditions regardless of how many wins you get, which actually makes this change to the vault rewards pretty awesome (Unless you really hate playing expeditions I guess).

        For some reason I was searching for this information for a while, and of course I find it right after I make a thread about it here lol. I guess it's at least nice to spread this information so more people know about it.

          Same here. I also don't recall hearing that, though I do vaguely recall being guaranteed to get enough shards to buy another run if you get past a certain threshold. I forget what numbers are required, though.

            It requires 3000 shards to enter an expedition, which is exactly the same amount that is required to craft a specific champion card. I don't remember if we started at 0 shards but I currently have about 5000, which includes shards I've gotten so far from region rewards, so I would not be surprised if I got exactly 3000 shards from my 7-win expedition.

              7 wins in expanditions should give 3000 shards to go "infitite" that's how it works..

              I think the token is much better than a random champion since expanditions are fun and you get the random champion in the end but they said in the level 10 vaults.. wonder if they are in the level 13 vaults... looking forward to tomorrow to actually get a nice amount of cards to try new decks

                Regarding champions from vaults: from what I can tell, you're never guaranteed a champion, but everything has a random chance at upgrades and higher levels give more stuff so statistically you improve your odds.  That said, I'm staring at these numbers and I don't see how anyone actually gets a champion vault in practice, since even the diamond chests only have basic capsules which start with 4 commons and 1 rare.  E.g., the odds of hitting a basic capsule -> epic capsule upgrade are 10% and then hitting the single epic from the capsule for a -> Rarity + 1 is 10% for 1% total chance of a random champion per module?  If that's true, then the difference of getting at least 1 champion at Level 13 versus Level 10 is 8.6% versus 5.9%--hardly anything to write home about.

                I'm starting to think more and more that the only viable way to get 3 champions of a kind is to buy champion wildcards with real world cash, which is kinda a bummer.

                  You are guaranteed with that expedition token. I'll tell you how. Expeditions gives a random champion card even you can't get any wins. So basically you can go for an expedition and end it instantly without playing and you'll get a random guaranteed champion even you don't like to play Expeditions.

                  It is better than a normal Champion reward for Vaults like before. Because one Expedition Token can give you more than 1 Champion card.

                   

                  For who wonders, I got my 7 wins on expeditions(Both Trials were 7 wins), It gave 3500 shards + 1 Diamond Chest + 1 Champion Card(it upgraded into champion Wildcard). So that token has potentially more than 1 champion card and that's better than the older state of Vaults.

                  Crafting a Champion with shards is perfectly viable. You get a lot of extra random value by doing an Expedition, and that's balanced against the phenomenal value of creating exactly the Champion you need. Both options are good; it just depends on your needs at the moment, your long-term goals, and your level of patience.

           it isnt complete trough,  i sorry for the confusion it was written  expedition token yesterday   and double is right 3500 on 7 is your free run, i didn't get 7 win on mine so couldnt confirm.
