That was the last meal I ate. The slurry coming down the tube was a warm and tasteless sludge that I lacked the ability to halt. It would help keep the last bits of my body functioning as they performed the transposition. It’s strange that this memory remains clear to me. The last spasm of a dying brain seizing perhaps?
