Sidequest Update - October 20, 2026

Micro Menu

  • The Health and Energy bars are taller with bigger numbers, so they're much easier to read.

  • Each bar now shows a live countdown on its right to when it's full again.

  • A new currency row under the Energy bar shows your Gold and any event currencies you hold. Hover or tap one to see the exact amount, what it's for, and when the event ends. It updates live whenever you earn or spend.

  • The Professions button now opens a list of every workshop (The Forge, Loom, Tannery, Kitchen, and Sawmill) so you can jump straight to the one you want.

  • Your Health now updates right away when you switch gear sets, equip or unequip something, or change class.

  • The micro menu now sits at the bottom of the screen instead of floating above an empty gap.

  • If you have no active scavenger hunt, the Scavenger Hunt button takes you to the activity listing with scavenger hunts already selected.

    • We will soon have more hunts, don't you worry!

Bosses

  • Every boss swing now casts your class spell: Smash, Fireball, or Shoot. If you know more than one spell, a small ability bar lets you pick which one to use, and it remembers your choice.

    • Yeah that's right, more abilities confirmed to be coming. Just sit tight!

    • Class levels are going to becoming a thing in the future. I'm going to make a dedicated post about that within the next week or so, or maybe a video, to talk about it because it's a massive change that's going to happen and it will 100% feel weird to start with but it's going to be good for the game overall.

  • Boss effects like Scorched, Burning, Brittle, and Corroded now update live for everyone watching, with a countdown on each one.

  • Names in the Top Damage list now link to each player's profile. This annoyed me so much and I don't know why I didn't fix it.

Loot

  • Grey foes (the ones far below your level) now drop loot much more often.

    • This was a bug. There was always supposed to be a chance that they'd drop nothing - you were too strong and just toasted them entirely - but not as low as it was.

  • Recipe scrolls for recipes a trainer already teaches for Gold no longer drop from humanoids, Oozefest bosses, or trick-or-treating. Existing scrolls are still in your inventories.

Donations

  • Donating to the war effort drives (fish, candy, meals, ore, and wood) now uses the same pick-several picker as Militia donations, so you can hand in a whole pile at once.

    • I understand it may seem silly to click on Maple Wood and then get the same multi-select popup, just trust me on this one for now - I don't want to mess with Oozefest.

  • Tap a stack to add all of it, or use the - and + buttons to give only part of a stack.

  • Donation lists now show your least rare items first.

Workshops

  • On desktop, hovering your mouse on a recipe in the list for a second shows the item's tooltip, the same one the database uses. It won't pop up while you're scrolling.

  • Pattern and recipe scroll tooltips now say "Recipe Already Known" on the last line when you've already learned it. This shows everywhere item tooltips appear, including the marketplace.

  • Your Gold is no longer shown in the workshop headers.

Inventory and Gear

  • Rings can now go in the Ring 2 slot when you add them to several gear sets. A ring takes a free slot first instead of pushing out the one already there, and the Gear Sets picker lets you choose Ring 1 or Ring 2 for each set.

  • "View in Database" and "Put in Shop" in item menus are now real links, so middle-click and Ctrl-click open them in a new tab.

  • Selling an item to the vendor now shows a toast with the item's icon and a link to its database page.

  • Opening the marketplace Sell page now clears your "new item" highlights, like the inventory does.

  • The "new item" glow no longer animates on phones and tablets, which was making the inventory hard to use on some devices due to lag when you found a ton of new items.

  • When you look at someone else's gear on their profile, click a piece to see its tooltip with a "View in the Database" link.

Sidequest Database

  • The database search box now suggests items and creatures as you type. Use the arrow keys and Enter, or click a suggestion to go straight to it.

Art

  • Game Meat, Beast Bone, and Well-Done Steak finally have icons.
