When Does Nightwave End in Warframe? (2026 Guide)

Updated 6 hours ago by

Wondering when the current Warframe Nightwave ends? Here's the latest on Nora's Mix: Time Tempests, how end dates work, and how to spot the countdown.

When Does Nightwave End in Warframe? (2026 Guide)

Short answer: Digital Extremes almost never announces a hard end date for a Nightwave season up front. The current season, Nora's Mix: Time Tempests, launched on April 8, 2026, and as of now there's no official end date confirmed. The reliable in-game signal is the countdown timer that shows up once the season has two weeks left, so that's your real warning to finish your ranks.

The Current Nightwave Season at a Glance

Nora's Mix: Time Tempests is the season running right now. It began on April 8th, 2026 and is built around a past, present, and future time theme. It's a Nora's Mix season, which means it's an interim pass without a serialized story, focused on cosmetics and gameplay rewards rather than lore.

It runs the standard structure: 30 ranks using Time Tempests Cred as the season currency, and you can keep going past max rank into Prestige ranks for extra Cred. The rewards pair nicely with Protea Caladrius and Caliban Orfeo, and include new Augment Mods and matching cosmetics.

So When Does It Actually End?

Here's the honest version: no official end date has been announced yet. Warframe seasons run for variable lengths, and DE typically reveals the end only when the next thing is ready to ship.

What we can do is estimate based on history. Recent seasons have run anywhere from around 104 to 157 days, so a season that started April 8 lands somewhere in the late-summer to early-fall 2026 window if it follows the usual cadence. Treat that as a rough projection, not a promise. The in-game countdown is the only date you should fully trust.

Recent Season Lengths for Context

  • Vol. 6 - May 15 to Sep 3, 2024 (about 111 days)

  • Vol. 7 - Sep 3, 2024 to Feb 6, 2025 (about 157 days)

  • Vol. 8 - Feb 6 to May 21, 2025 (about 104 days)

  • Vol. 9 - May 21 to Oct 27, 2025 (about 100 days)

  • Dreams of the Dead - Oct 27, 2025 to Apr 8, 2026 (about 163 days)

As you can see, the gap between seasons swings by almost two months, which is why nobody can give you an exact end date until DE does.

How to Know When the Season Is Almost Over

The game tells you directly. A countdown timer appears in the Nightwave menu once the current season has two weeks remaining. That's your cue to clear out anything you've been putting off.

To check it, open Nightwave from the Orbiter's Navigation console, the banner on the lower-right of the main menu, or by interacting with the Radio Scanner to the right of your Orbiter ramp. If you don't see a timer yet, the season still has more than two weeks left.

What You Need to Finish Before It Ends

When a Nightwave season ends, a few things reset, so plan around them:

  • Spend your Cred. The season's Cred currency expires when the season ends. Any unspent Cred can only be sold from your inventory for 5,000 Credits each, which is a bad trade. Buy what you want from the Cred Offerings store before it closes.

  • The store goes offline. During the downtime between seasons (including Intermissions), the Cred Offerings store is inaccessible until the next season starts. Remember the shop rotates its stock every 7 days, so grab time-sensitive items like Nitain Extract, Orokin Catalysts, and Reactors when they're up.

  • Your rank resets. Everyone starts the next season at rank 0. Your past ranks are still viewable in the Tune In screen, but progress doesn't carry over.

How Nightwave Ranking Works

Each rank needs 10,000 Standing, and you earn Standing by completing Acts (challenges). They come in three tiers:

  • Daily Acts - the easiest, worth 1,000 Standing each, with new ones introduced daily that last 3 days.

  • Weekly Acts - worth 4,500 Standing each.

  • Elite Weekly Acts - the hardest, worth 7,000 Standing each.

Weekly and Elite Weekly challenges refresh every Sunday at 00:00 UTC. If you miss a weekly, it goes on reserve so you can catch up later, which is handy if you skip a week. Realistically, knocking out your weeklies and elite weeklies each week is the fastest path to maxing the season well before any countdown appears.

What's Coming After Time Tempests

DE has teased that Nightwave Series 4 follows this season, which would be the first full story-driven Series since Series 3: Glassmaker back in 2020 to 2021. No name or start date has been confirmed yet, so for now Time Tempests is what you're working through.

Bottom Line

There's no confirmed end date for Nora's Mix: Time Tempests right now. Based on recent season lengths it's likely to wrap sometime in the late-summer or early-fall 2026 range, but the only date you should act on is the two-week countdown that appears in your Nightwave menu. When you see it, spend your Cred, grab any rotating store items you want, and finish your remaining ranks before everything resets.
