I appreciated they didn't give mage a way to generate Preparation. Think about Wand Thief is a vice versa version and gives rogue spells, Wild would be damned until the end of time with this card.
I hope they playtested this in wild a bit :)
This is pretty cool! You can get a lot of value from this and it will enable some interesting combo possibilities. Getting this from Kalecgos when you have a board already could be nuts!

Maiev Shadowsong on Archmage Antonidas (you're gonna need a Coin, easiest from Licensed Adventurer), wait two turns, then play Sorcerer's Apprentice X2, this, the two new Apprentices, and Fireball your opponent to death.
I think it is not the best way of doing this.
I thought about the easiest way to make OTK with this... and seems like you need The Coin with Licensed Adventurer if going first with quest. so The combo is:
play 2 Sorcerer's Apprentices play Potion of Illusion twice (they are discounted so it is only 8 mana)
Then on 10 mana you go:
Archmage Antonidas
The Coin (get first fireball)
4x 1 mana Sorcerer's Apprentice
EZ win no need for Maiev shenanigans
Or you can just run both second Potion of Illusion and Maiev Shadowsong and whichever you draw first enables your combo

Now this.. this is a card. Day 1, crafting 2 x golden. There are some legitimately cool combo enablers for Wild in this expansion.
Looks powerful, but its mostly going into rogue. Maybe highlander mage can use it to get another Malygos, Aspect of Magic but that's basically it.
There's plenty of stuff you can do with this in rogue, especially given that galakrond and togwaggle gives out 0-1 mana cards to take advantage of it. But at the moment, it might just be too expensive and too gimmicky to fit into either class.
Does help out with cards like Jandice Barov, for a massive 10 mana play.
Now the 1/1 copy of Jandice Barov
for 1 mana seems to be much more better :). Not only that you get another Jandice for 1 mana, but you get both 5 mana minions she summon for 1 mana. I think there might be some great options.

But I'm curious how this type of cards works with Rattlegore. Does 1/1 copy summons 8/8 or nothing? What if you use it on weaker Rattlegore? Does 1/1 copy remembers it was 5/5 before?
if you target an 8/8 rattlegore, then the 1/1 version will summon a 7/7
