False Flag - a "new" deck concept
For those who don't know what false Flag in reality is: it means that someone pretends to be someone else as he commits something bad (for example starts a conflict with another country in the name of a third country)
Now what does that (well used political) strategy to do with LoR?
Now: we usually show flag at the start of the game as we show regions and Champions that we use.
There have been some decent championless decks in the past and thought myself: why not going false flag with your deck?
You pretend to be another deck by putting established Champion combinations into a deck (as a 1 off ofc) and build your deck in an absolute opposite flavour to catch people offguard.
For example: you pretend to be control as Swain Twisted Fate but play Pirate aggro.
But what about you: have you encountered these decks already, do you like the idea, do you think it is worth it to build and play such decks?

So you basically suggest to play suboptimal decks with bad draws to confuse your opponen??
-=alfi=-
Suboptimal decks yes but bad draws... i mean Twisted Fate and Swain aren't bad draws in pirate aggro in general. You won't chose Champions that completely suck if you don't play around them like Heimerdinger.
Yet you should not underestimate the meaning of your mulligan and first plays you do. If your opponent realizes the false flag in turn 3 it might be too late already...
Well if you're talking about false flags, there are also other ways to do it and I know one that has worked pretty well. During the EU climbing grind in Masters to qualify for the tournament, freshlobster used a Warmother's deck that ran 0 Warmother's and instead focuses the matchups so it's better against Lee Sin by running 3 copies of Flash Freeze. I don't know how the deck works only that it does work and it got him to top 8 Masters in EU. Obviously, I think that this is a deck that probably won't work elsewhere but if you want to try it.

Take my words with a grain of salt. I'm unranked and only play casuals lmao.
I have use this strategy myself sometimes with aggro bannerman splash targon disguised as Lux-ASol in hope that people will mulligan for late game ofc.
Long story short it's sometimes work against slower deck, while against fast deck it's just basically like any normal match.
But when you draw either Lux or Asol (or both) early then you kinda screwed.
I acutally did it by playing a Teemo/Heimerdinger deck with only 1x Teemo in the Gauntled.
Expectation: Players would select an anti-aggro deck to face it while in fact its late game control designed to beat it.
Reality: That deck was banned almost 100% of the time. (Guess everyone hates Teemo lol)

There is a reason why my sejuani deck got 3 copies of Blade's Edge and 3 copies of Death's Hand (aside the fact that they are meant as a plunder trigger)
I haven’t done this, but I’ve done something similar in gauntlets. In the pick and ban games I’ll often put in my sub-optimal deep deck to lure peoples bans away from the deck I prefer
It's funny you mention this. All last season, I got to Gold 1 by playing a Commander Ledros stall deck with this concept. Basically, I swapped out Trundle for a single copy of Kalista, so it looked like I was playing the hyper aggro Kalista deck. The best part was that the stall deck uses the same regions as the aggro deck. I could only imagine my opponent's confusion when I suddenly played Avalanche to wipe their board.
I did this with a Poro Cannon/Vonn Yip deck. I put in Vi and Sejuani as 1 copy each. Then I went full poros all over them. And, of course, Vi and Sejuani are both totally fine (especially Vi when you're playing 1 drops like crazy).
But I guarantee not a single one of my opponents saw my champions and said to themselves, "Hm, I bet this is a poros deck with Vonn Yip."
