  • Way too slow, I don't expect to see this in constructed.

  • I don't see this anywhere tbh. Arena would require deliberately drafting a 10 drop just to corrupt this, Duels is way to fast for this to be playable, and I can't think of a deck this would fit in in standard constructed. Maybe, just maybe as a follow up to N'Zoth, in a deck that also runs Y'Shaarj? It would require an impossibly slow meta to even be considered, let alone playable though.

  • corrupt a 9 cost card.. I thought it would be much bigger deal.. oh well.

  • They said there would be something at 9 mana with a huge Corrupt effect. Is this it? I mean, handbuff it and you've got a major power play. Otherwise, it's strong, but not crazy.

  • god this is good if you can play a 10 cost minion before this

    TOTAL CORRUPTION

    TOTAL POWAAAAAAA

  • Hmmm, warrior has +5/+5 spell for a taunt minion in hand. Even without corruption 3x 9/9 will be annoying as hell.

What's the most powerful card in Hearthstone?

    A credit card.

  • I can see memes, but other than that too expensive... if you can play this safely you already won anyway even without it. I suppose in Arena you might want it (even if not corrupted)

  • Yeah, I don't think this will work out. It's really slow and the payoff isn't strong enough to justify the slow speed.

  • Deck of Chaos. But I doubt there are enough cards to build around that specific synergy.

  • Seems too hard to corrupt for what it does.  Deck of Chaos might like it, but thats still a lot of setup.

  • I think it could see play in a mediocre Druid deck. Survival of the Fittest for 10 mana. Next turn fill your board with 8/8 taunts. That's not a great play because it'd be better to have SotF hit medium things for consistency, playability, and value, but it would be a fun as hell closer.

Slow you say? Just to get the full effect you would need your Old god(s) to have fumbled .. which ain't good news in first place

  • I think card is the win con itself, so you need to build around it. Sort of reminds me of Chef Nomi decks. I don't think you can slot this in any deck.

Honestly not sure how to build it correctly. I'm thinking on the lines of 2 of this, 2 10 cost cards, Deck of Chaos if warlock, and the rest survival or draw cards.

  • Honestly, I was hoping for something a bit more radical than this. There simply isn't enough payoff for the cost. Sure, getting a board full of 4/4s is nice, but not worth the effort. I was hoping that the 9 mana corrupt card would be more of an odd build-around, possibly combo enabling card. But it is just an extra board of stats.

The only way I think this will see play is in a Shudderwock deck which may use C'thun or soemthing to corrupt it, and then copy the battlecry getting a board full of Shudderwocks. But usually by the time you get infinite shudderwocks, you have already won.

  • The only class that will use this card unironically is warrior, as a sort of last resort after a nzoth play, since that will likely revive your Armagedillo, which will in turn make this a 6/6 at least.

But if you play nzoth and still not grab the win, then there's really something seriously wrong with your built, or your opponent is playing absolutely nothing but removal.

Outside of that very small niche, I don't see it. On its own, its decent, but gets value traded by nearly everything, so you can't just play it on its own. And if the idea is to buff it then play it on 9. Well, you'd have to have godlike skills to not just die before turn 9 in my opinion.

One amusing thing you can do is to play this in a Deck of Chaos built. Then its a 4 mana load your board with 9/4s. But that's admitably a highroll where its even outshined by Malygos who can simply win the game outright.

    Agree.

Handbuff is the only one archetype that can play that card, and warrior is the only one class that can handbuff that card.

  • It's more a super meme card I feel. You'd want to target this minion with lots of hand buffs and cards like Feat of Strength, I'm sure there's better ways to have fun though

    0
  • Even with Deck of Chaos, if you draw this before it, it's a dead card. 2/5

  • Way to slow, and the corrupt is extremely hard to pull off. congratulations HS team, you managed to print a worse Hir'eek, the Bat. Good job!

Also if you think: ''hey wouldn't this work with Shudderwock?" Nope, Shudderwock often wants some board space, the corrupt is way to hard to trigger, AND Doppelgangster is better in every way shape and form.

RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.

  • I am asking how the interaction between this card and Deck of Chaos will work.

If if can get corrupted the on 7 turn with a 5 mana card, then you suddenly will have a 9/4 full board on turn 8, well if you are alive by that turn.

    Hope it works!

  • The flavor is on  point you'd have to be a clown to play this except maybe with deck of chaos but I just feel like a board full of 4/4s regardless of taunt doesnt validates the 10 mana to corrupt and the 9 mana to summon

    Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds

  • Good with Imprisoned Satyr or Survival of the Fittest.

  • This seems like a fun meme card to play. You can shadowstep it with Rogue, and get it back from Y’shaarj.

This ain't no place for a hero

  • Super slow, grindy decks will probably find a use for this. Filling your board with this f*cking clown three times in one game (play two copies of it, then the extra one you'll get from Y'shaarj) will give your opponents headaches.

It's still terrible on its own though, so I doubt it'll really see play.

  • Slow, way too slow.

    0
  • Deck of Chaos and all the Priest cost reduction might allow this to see some fringe play in Standard.

    0
  • Spooky clown is just too slow.  Does seem fun with shudderwock in wild though.

  • Too costly for what it does, at 4 hp it's still in range of flamestrike

    All hail the banshee queen.

    0
  • I think this will prove hard to corrupt as having this in hand plus your one to two 10 cost cards looks inconsistent. Even with Survival of the Fittest, you have to spend an entire turn to set up Carnival Clown

    For glory, honor, and gold!

    0
  • At least it has taunt. Without that it would be full on 0 stars. 28/28 stats for having dropped a previous 10-mana bomb sounds good on paper, but do you often need that kind of board refill?

    0
  • On one hand this seems like a decent card and effect, but I'm not sure about the consistency. Most 10 mana cards that would be used to corrupt this card would be used as some kind of finisher. Myabe some high value control decks would use this to prepare against some Old God shenanigans.

Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.

  • Another card to throw together with Deck of Chaos and lose many, many games with. There may be a place for this in an ultra-grindy Control vs Control situation... but I doubt it.

    Welcome to the site!

    0
  • At first I thought it was good, but then I looked at the cost; no deck is going to be able to corrupt this consistently, and 3 4/4 taunts seems weak. Even 7 4/4 taunts, while a threatening swing, isn't enough to overcome the fact that Soul Mirror or Twisting Nether are cards.

    0
  • This card is not a bad card and if buffed and corrupted it will definitely slow things down.

    0
  • Pretty interesting that Blizzard used as this card's art a picture of every person who puts it into their deck.

I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.

  • Bit expensive and hard to corrupt, so I doubt it'll see much play, unfortunately
