Level 50 Hero Portraits

What level 50 reward portrait are you going to choose, or have already chosen?
I hit 50 last night, and can't make up my mind between Garrosh, Valeera, Gul'Dan and possibly Rexxar. Would be interested to know what everyone else is going for, and the thinking behind it.

May all your legendaries be golden.
I’ve been thinking between Illidan and Valeera, mainly because I want an alternate hero to play DH with. Valeera bcs I think it looks the nicest.
Pick whatever you feel I guess, its only a skin after all. Except Anduin; he looks absolutely atrocious.
This ain't no place for a hero
For me it was kinda hard, because I don´t like the look of the skins. Only one I like is Gul'Dan, but I´m heading towards 1000 win Warlock portrait, which is the best imo, so I went with Rexxar, because I´m a Hunter main with many S/W decks, so I can have different skin for every deck now.

Probably priest for me. I like it more than the 1000 win portrait, although default Anduin's already pretty good. I do play my fair share of priests, so its my first choice.
Rogue's good, but I kinda like Maiev as my rogue main anyway, and the default Valeera isn't really bad herself. Thrall's a good one too, but since we get to choose only one I'll have to pass this time.
I'm going to have to decide soon-ish, too and haven't really made up my mind either. My problem is that Blizzard has not provided us with Hero Power borders for the 1.000 wins portraits and I do like to brag about my 1.000 wins with Mage and Hunter. So those two are ruled out for me. Demon Hunter, Priest and Shaman just don't look good in my eyes. Warlock and Warrior are nice enough, but for those classes I prefer my N'Zoth and Deathwing skins. Which leaves me with Druid, Rogue and Paladin. I'll probably go with Paladin, because I like the default Druid skin and Blizzard will hopefully provide us with a male Rogue skin with one of the next expansions.

Gul'dan? Yuck, I'll put that one off for another 9 expansions :P Seriously though, it's good that different people like different ones as it would feel less significant if everyone picks the same one. I'm with @Alleria on my general thoughts though: there aren't many that I really like, and I prefer the less cartoon-y artwork of the basic portraits in most cases.
I personally went with Valeera because I'm a rogue main and am probably biased so thought she looked the best anyway. She also has the advantage that she is a lot more unique than many options when compared to alternative portraits of the same characters. That will likely continue when she eventually gets her Book of Heroes one and the Tavern Pass ones, especially with regards to the colour palette since red with green and gold details has always been her style (she is a proud blood elf after all) so she's unlikely to be going with black and orange again.
In the end though, there are no wrong choices, and even if you later decide you prefer another, it'll only be 4 months before you can choose it. (I'm assuming these will be around for 10 expansions.)
I can honestly say that I don't think I've seen such a petulant and entitled post on these forums until now.
First off, your hero power border goes from plain to gold when you hit 500 wins. In addition, your hero and hero power becomes an animated "gif" at 500 wins. Then at 1000 wins you get an alternate hero portrait. You don't need further benefits. You don't need a "hero power border" for 1000 wins. Your reward at 1000 wins is the alternate hero portrait.
Lastly, your wording echoes my first statement: petulant and entitled. "Blizzard has not provided us" instead of "It would have been nice if blizzard updated the hero power to reflect 1k wins". How about you enjoy the game for what it is? And if Blizzard decides to make additional rewards, great. If not, no skin off your nose. If you constantly need validation and digital accolades from playing a game then nothing will ever make you happy.

I have a few levels left but I'm leaning towards Garrosh when I get there. Of the classes I don't have an alternative portrait for, I think he's got the best. On the other hand I play very little Warrior now as I don't have any of the key legendaries.
Unfortunately I don't like the new Thrall at all, otherwise the choice would be easy. Illidan's and Rexxar's new portraits is also kinda meh imho.
Thanks for your feedback, I'll try and be more careful with my choice of words in the future, maybe look up some stuff before I post. I had thought "to provide" was a fairly neutral verb.
That said, I do think it's a weird or even flat out bad business model that you get a reward at 1.000 wins which is not compatible with stuff you have spent real money on (I'm talking about skins like Lazul or Sylvanas here, not the reward track skins). It almost looks like Blizzard cares about long time players (1.000 wins portraits) and about players that are okay with spending money on the game (purchasable skins), but not about those who fit both of these criteria. And the fact that this is a rather small issue can be an argument for implementing the feature as well: it shouldn't be that much of an effort for the devs. This problem occurs a second time when I have to choose between a 1.000 wins skin and a reward track skin, which makes it a criteria for my personal choice. Having a platin/diamond/whatever Hero Power would solve the issue and is my idea of constructive criticsm.
I won't answer your second paragraph because that's too personal for this discussion. If you're interested about what I enjoy in Hearthstone and where I draw confidence from in life, feel free to send me a PM. OP had asked which skin we have chosen or will choose and why and I've tried to answer both of those questions. That wasn't meant to be petulant and entitled, but then this is the internet. You don't see my face, you don't hear my voice, you don't know my background story. And even if you did, we could still agree to disagree. By the way: Which skin is your favorite and why?

Got Valeera, because the normal one is cool, the 1000 wins it's a halloween costume, and the one at lvl 50 gives me the feel of "Kingsbane Rogue".
It's a shame we don't get a few different voice lines, like a new greet when the match starts against another rogue, but, it's just for the sake of it so...
BTW Garrosh and Rexxar look cool.

I main mage so take a Wild guess

Garrosh?

I still have 5 levels to think about it, but it will be either Malfurion, Valeera, or Jaina (in that order currently). I probably like Valeera the best when looking at all portraits in isolation, but the standard Valeera and Maiev are great too. Malfurion is not much behind though and a massive improvement over all other Druid portraits in my opinion. Finally, a druid that means business. However, I don't play druid that much as I don't like the current playstyle of "draw your ramp or concede". Jaina is somewhere in between - I like mage but don't have any alternative portraits, and it's a decent upgrade. Still somehow less impressive than Malfurion and Valeera.
I guess that I'm in the minority that doesn't like Gul'dan that much - his armor is too warrior-like for my taste. It is however a big improvement over his standard portrait though. But I still prefer Nimsy for my warlock.
Garrosh looks cool too but unlike Gul'dan, he has a bad-ass standard portrait that just oozes 'warrior' all over so I don't think it's actually an improvement (plus, I don't play warrior much)
I was between Valeera and Illidan because both look nice to me and I have favorites in the other classes that I like to use.
Ultimately I chose Valeera because when I hit 1000 wins with Illidan (still way off) I know I’m only ever going to use the Demonic Illidan portrait anyway.
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
No! He’s going with that Lawbringer Uther who is so strong he’s reading a book while kicking ass

I'm getting Valeera for sure. It's the best looking one in my opinion. Next expansion I'm getting Illidan since I like that shot over his base portrait and I'm never getting 1,000 DH wins (although I'll probably still never use it - I'm just so sick of Illidan's voice. I'd rather stick with Aranna).
After that it'll be open season. Priest and Shaman are off the table until they're what's left, but otherwise it's whoever I'm feeling.

I'm the only one who stops to see if he's dead.
Hmm. Turns out he's dead.
Absolutely mage, such a powerful pink
I was just about to start a thread to inquire the same - glad I checked first - this being said, I have soon to make up my mind too, and I was kinda hesitant between Valeera and Illidan, which both look cooler than their original counterpart, and possibly my favorite art from the lot. On one hand, I know I'd be playing my fair share of Rogue, and on the other, this new portrait for DH could be an incentive to play this class a little more, maybe? But my heart is with Gul'Dan, even if I'm not that found of that portrait in particular - though call!

Anyone have any idea how many weeks we have left?
I mainly play priest, but agreed with the others, it kinda looks like doo doo compared to the other portraits. I also think Valeera (rogue) looks the best, but Illidan (demon hunter) and Malfurion (druid) also look sick. I'll probably end up choosing one of those three.
Also, someone said they're gonna choose another hero next.. will these hero skins be available again when the battle pass resets next expansion?
Well, there isn´t anything confirmed yet afaik, but it makes sense that we will be able to choose all of the skins during the period of ten seasons, because otherwise people would be pissed if they like more than one skin and would miss out on the others. It wouldn´t also make sense for Blizz to do a new set of 10 heroes every season/4months.

We have until the next full expansion. When exactly that will be, nobody knows. Historically, it has been the first week of April, so that should leave us with 12 more weeks. But the Darkmoon was released earlier than expected, so it may be that the next expansion will also be a bit earlier. However, we will still get a second wave of Darkmoon and a new game mode has also been promised before the next expansion, so lots of stuff still waiting for us. Again, nobody knows for sure, but all considered, I would be very surprised if it would be less than 10 weeks.
Okay, I haven't played much Rogue in a while. But I picked the Valeera portrait so I wanted to play some today. Just picked a Stealth Rogue list and went a quick 7-0!
Guys... I think that the Rogue Nightslayer armor set that Valeera has in her new portrait might be OP! :)
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
Actually I like the Sylvanas portrait so Imma stick with her for a while.

I started playing Warrior this Expansion, so I'm gonna go with the Garrosh one.
Don't know what I'll get next though. Priest is my main class, but that Skin is the worst one imo. Hunter and Shaman are kinda alright. Rogue is cool, but I'll never let go off Maiev.
Guess I'll just roll a Dice or something!

Got valeera cause it one of only ones i like at all of the lvl 50portaits and rogue is my fav class.
None of them really stand out to me aesthetically. It's gonna come down to Rogue, most likely, in-part because Maiev is simply alright and there aren't many other options available. My thoughts on the classes:
So…yeah. I guess Rogue it is.
Yea that makes sense, would be an easy recycle and would give users another chance to earn these portraits. Appreciate the response
I chose Earthfury Thrall as my reward just now as I didn't have an alt for Shaman & I really don't like the Mage alt. Paladin will be my very last pick because I love Liadrin & Arthas so much more than Uther.
I chose Anduin, but rather out of opportunism than preference:
So that left priest to 'enjoy' a new portrait for the next 150 games or so. If I haven't achieved 1k wins with Rogue for the next track, Valeera will be next - otherwise I guess Illidan will get an upgrade :D
EDIT: And I figured Anduin's skin would be the rarest one ^^ #unicornpriest
I forgot that she'll get a book of heroes. Thats the only one I'm excited for and will probably buy.
Level 50 portraits: weirdly, I kinda like all of them but don't want any. They all seem too busy for thumbnail portraits. Full art probably awesome. I'll pick Nightslayer Valeera.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
My prediction is that the biggest difference between Valeera's BoH skin and her basic one will be the absence of those glorious and utterly ridiculous shoulder spikes. There's a small chance of white hair and demonic runes (she better at least have those in one of the Tavern Pass skins!), but her clothing has never really changed much beyond the shoulders.
Her story itself should be a nice little detour from the main Warcraft storyline that all the others tell, though it does link up with quite a few of the HS heroes (there's one event where Valeera, Anduin, Jaina, Thrall and Garrosh are all on the same side in a fight, and I assume Valeera will be the one to tell us about it). I'm most interested to see how they handle some of the stuff which involves Med'an, and is therefore in a weird quantum state of being both canon and non-canon.
Fun fact: the first two volumes of the comic that tells most of her story credit a certain Ben Brode for 'additional development'. So that might be a hint about who first suggested using her as the basic rogue hero.
