Out of Cards Changelog - 2019-07-22

New Features

  • Comments now sort by new by default.
    • Developer Note: Sorry this took so long! Next comment update will let you choose how you want to sort them. No ETA.
  • Notifications can now be accessed via the navigation.
    • Developer Note: This is an initial implementation for notifications. We don't currently let you choose stuff you can subscribe to, that's a future thing.
      • You'll get notifications when someone responds to something you've created. Deck authors, expect a notification for every deck comment!
      • People replying or quoting you will trigger a notification.
      • You'll also get notifications for achievements earned. Don't worry about these for right now =)
      • We'll eventually let you see the latest 3-5 notifications via a dropdown on any page, for easy access.

Changes

  • Expansion pages now display 2 cards per line for most mobile devices. Save those fingers!

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the navigation would fail to load correctly on some pages.
  • Fixed an issue where comments were causing issues loading some pages due to a bad deploy.
  • Fixed an issue preventing comment jumping from going to the correct comment.

Notifications are almost there. We've got a few things to tweak with them and we'll let you have access to them.
Achievements are backlogged a bit further -- card reveals have been disturbing development zen.

    Did you also change something about the message box? I have a conversation going there and now it's completely topsy-turvy, all the replies in random order. Couldn't find a way to sort them by new or something...

      I think the order there is the following one:

      The original comment is located at the top, as if it's a sticky post, while the rest of them are sorted by the most recent ones being first. Though I must say, that it is also kinda inconvinient for me.

  • Was not intentional that they got sorted by new first - direct messages should be oldest->newest like forums.

    One thing though that is different about direct messages compared to other types of content is that we'll always display the original post at the top of pages of replies, as a reminder to the subject of the message, so that part won't change - at least not yet.

    Will have a deploy out before next reveal to fix that issue (ETA <15mins).

    Edit: I lied, we're gonna deploy AFTER the card reveal.

  • this is great! these two things were the things I was looking forward too the most so I am very excited that they are finally here!

  • That issue I was having with items on the navbar wrapping to two lines is back again since you added the bell. I suppose if you don't want to just increase the width, you could chop long usernames, and replace the end with an ellipsis.

      Damn, you're one character too long. Guess we'll have to rename you.

      I'll find a fix for it, I'm sorry for not checking with your name exactly. It'll all be so much better once we get the site name out of the nav, giving us some extra space.

  • Semi related to topic card search needs alot of work 

    first there should be basic dropdown for std, wild or all  its pretty impossible to search stuff

    second pretty much no one searches for race(blood elf, tauren vs..) it should be replaced with tribe(like beast, mech, vs)

    third remove unrelated stuff like family

    cost attack needs less than, equal to vs (i dont remember the card thats why im searching)

    last there should be a card image view option

      Yes, we know. All of that an more already on to-do list. But reveal period took a lot of time from the backend, so we had to prioritize. All of this is coming tho ;-)
