Reputation points?

Hey Flux and awesome OOC crew, I had an idea for a longer time and so I though it might be worth asking. We have up and down voting for posts, if we like/dislike the comments, and so I thought, maybe we could have some sort of "reputation" points for members too, as I´ve seen on some other forums. What if I like a member and want to appreciate his opinions/attitude/helpfulness, other than upvoting all of his comments? Maybe there could be some + reputation button (not - ofc, cause it could backfire badly) next to members avatars? You couldn´t vote twice for the same member, it could be anonymous (so people don´t feel forced to pay it back) and maybe it could be helpful in threads like trading a friend quests - you can upvote trusty member who traded with you, or you can check his reputation before trading, to know he is least likely to scam you, if he gained some reputation points.

Anyway, just an idea, what do you guys think? :)

  • A sort of site reputation was conceptualized long before Out of Cards was even built! There are many bits and pieces that I'd like to see in such a system to make it really rock solid so it's a project that has been on the back burner.

    There are also additional ways I think we could better promote each other and showcase our appreciation - another core community feature that we could use. Think Snowballs, but not pelting each other in the face :D

      One of the things that needs to be figured out, before anything like that would be implemented, ofc.

      Just as I´ve said, it would be used only to upvote, not downvote, because that could be exploited.

  • I still think about making a permanent list of blacklisted user as one of the main feature in Hearthstone part. rather than giving an upvote to a friendly member. That way, everyone can look at the list if they need to check their counterpart for completing 'Play a Friend' quest.

    But hey, everyone have their own ideas.

    EDIT. I mean real Battlenet IDs. Coz it will be impossible to track his real Battlenet ID from his OoC username.
    I support friendly communities, but if there's toxic player/user out there, there must be some kind of repercussion for them. Kinda make it like a Wall of Shame.

  • The original goal was to create a system on the site that would require a Battle.net account, authenticated through the Blizzard API, attached to your profile so that there'd be no chance anyone on an internal blacklist could trade quests at all. There was a lot more to it though and it just never got done because it simply wasn't a priority.
