Feedback

General

• Your notification bell, private message count, and achievement popups now update the moment something happens, without reloading the page.

  • New notifications and messages pop up as a small toast in the corner. Click it to go straight there.

  • If a few arrive at once they are grouped into one toast, like "5 new notifications".

  • With the site open in several tabs, every tab updates its counts, but only the tab you are looking at shows the toast.

  • Messages never show their contents in a toast, only who it is from and the subject.

• Every achievement now has its own badge. Badges show on your profile's Achievements tab, in achievement popups, and on activity pages. Ladder achievements get bronze through diamond frames, so you can tell how far up a ladder you are at a glance.

• Sharing a member profile on Discord or social media now shows that member's avatar in the preview card.

• Finishing an activity (word searches, trivia, crosswords, word ladders, picross, memory match, and more) now drops a few raw materials into your Sidequest bag, for your first 5 activities each day.

Sidequest

• Sidequest got a huge update: resource node finds on site pages, a new Marketplace selling page, gear comparison tooltips, Favourites, Gear Sets, boss kill rings and trophies, boss countdowns, and big changes to the Sidequest World. Check out the full Sidequest update in the Sidequest realm.

Comments

• Comment sections are live.

  • A line above the comments shows how many people are reading and how many are writing a comment right now.

  • New comments from other members slip into the page as they are posted, without a reload.

• Replies now land in the right place. When you reply to someone, your reply shows up nested under their comment, at the same depth it has after a reload. It used to show up one level too high, and other people watching the page saw it at the bottom of the section.

• Editing a comment now shows your new text straight away, with an "(edited)" marker. It used to show the old version for up to 10 minutes, even after a reload.

Achievements

• There is a new Sidequest achievement category. Shopkeeper, Suited Up, and the shop sales achievements (Open for Business, Regular Customers, and Merchant Prince) moved there from Oozefest, since they are about Sidequest and not just this event.

• The Card Design Competition achievements (Intro to Card Design, Finalist CDC, and CDC Winner) are now Feats of Strength. We do not intend to run more card design competitions at this time.

• Members who opened their shop before the Shopkeeper achievement existed now have it, dated to the day they opened their shop.

News

• Article pages now show the realm header for the game they are about, with the realm's tabs, so you can get to that game's discussion, news, and guides in one click.

  • Articles about one game show that game's realm.

  • Articles about several games (or none) that are tagged Xbox, PlayStation, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, or Nintendo Switch 2 show that platform's realm.

• Tag pages show their articles again, and the Reviews link on the homepage finds every game review.

Hearthstone

• The "You:" dust on a deck is now worked out from your own collection, and it counts your Diamond and Signature cards. It could show the wrong number before.

• Decks are marked Standard or Wild using the current Standard rotation whenever they are saved. We had a lot of out of date decks.

Accounts & Security

• Changing your email address now asks for your current password, and the change only goes through once you confirm it from the new address.

• We fixed a big batch of security issues across comments, private messages, decks, polls, shops, and accounts. Nothing for you to do, the site is just safer.

Bug Fixes

• Avatar borders were missing in the shop and on member profiles, along with some seasonal and TCG artwork. They show again.

General

• Member profiles now show your Sidequest character at the top of the About tab: your gear, level, health, stats, set bonuses, and skills.

• Sidequest items have proper tooltips everywhere they appear on the site, and on phones they open in a drawer from the bottom of the screen that is easy to tap.

Gift Drops

• Every 6 hours during an event, one of the trainers hands out a free gift: a bundle of materials from their workshop, sometimes with some Gold.

  • Every member can claim each gift once, within 24 hours.

  • Gifts show up in a corner of the boss panel on the homepage with a Claim button, in the trainer's thread in the Sidequest realm, in the shoutbox, and on our Discord.

  • 6 hours is the case for Oozefest, this will almost certainly be adjusted in the future for other events.

Oozefest

• The war effort meters, Top Contributors, Fresh Deliveries, and Pass Leaders on the season page now update live while you watch.

• The settlement now has a Militia you can donate spare gear to... and more.

• Trick or Treat: the trainers' Trick or Treat buttons on the season page now take you to their shop, where you knock on their door. They have a lot of wares!

• Trainers start each day with a full bucket of candy, so their houses are always worth knocking on.

• Pranks from a trick (like the flipped page) now last 30 seconds instead of 5 minutes.

• Ooze throw buttons now show a green ooze glob instead of a water droplet.

• The boss page has an Eat button beside Attack, and the Sugar Rush candy shows as icons with tooltips that tell you what each candy does.

• The combat log shows how long ago each hit landed. Hover the time to see the exact time.

Sidequest

• Sidequest got another big update: a full item database, a redesigned inventory, characters on profiles, the settlement's Militia and trebuchets, siege balls, bosses in the Sidequest World, and a new logo. Check out the full Sidequest update in the Sidequest realm.

Shops & Marketplace

• You can now create a new listing every 3 seconds instead of every 30.

• Put items in your shop straight from your bag. Click an item and choose Put in Shop.

• Gear you cancelled from your shop can be listed again, and gear you bought from another member can be resold. Both used to fail.

• Gear you bought from another member's shop can be deleted again. It used to show an error.

Games

• Game pages work again. They were showing an error for a short time after the last update.

• Special editions of a game, like a Director's Cut or a Game of the Year edition, now belong to the main game's page instead of getting a duplicate page of their own. When two pages for the same game are merged, old links to the merged page redirect to the right one.

  • We still have some manual work to do to do the data-side of this fix, but it's coming.

Magic: The Gathering

• Serialized and promo printings with a star in their collector number get their card images now. The image importer was broken because of this.

Bug Fixes

• Some pages could load an outdated stylesheet after an update, which left the gift claim page without its realm header styling.

• Typing in the site search on the Sidequest World page works again.

General

• Site search has been rebuilt from the ground up.

  • Cards from all eight of our card games are searchable in one place, along with the Pokedex, the games catalogue, community threads, and sealed products.

  • Typos and partial names work way more reliably. "chariz" finds Charizard.

  • The results page uses the current site theme (oops) and shows cost, stats, rarity, and set for every game's cards, not just Hearthstone.

  • Results lean towards the realm you are browsing in more reliably (not perfect though).

• Images in articles, guides, and card pages now hold their space while loading so text stops jumping around as a page comes in.

• Many pages got noticeably faster: comment sections, listing pages, embedded cards and decks in posts for every card game, galleries, the shoutbox, and member comment pages.

  • Sealed product pages no longer wait on eBay and Amazon prices before showing you anything, which saves about a second.

• Every page now has a proper description and share image when it shows up in search engines or gets shared on Discord and social media. Page titles no longer repeat the section name.

• A stray ">" marker no longer shows up beside every comment on the site-wide comments page.

• New Today's Challenges that are always open, during events and between them.

  • Say Something: your first comment of the day anywhere on the site pays 5 Gold.

  • Join the Conversation: your first reply on a realm thread each day pays another 5 Gold.

• Every currency in the shop now has a short guide on its page explaining how to earn it and what it is for.

• Blurred background art on card, deck, product, and article pages now fades smoothly into the page instead of ending in a hard line.

Notifications & Email

• There is a "send a test notification" button on the Registered Devices tab in Account Management so you can check a device actually receives push notifications.

• If you have push enabled in several browsers, you now get notifications in all of them instead of just the first one.

• The daily newsletter is now built and sent by our new email system.

  • The deck section is now "Trending Hearthstone Decks" and shows each deck's class crest.

  • Card reveals show two per row, or one per row on phones.

  • Guides can now be featured in emails, not just articles.

  • No newsletter goes out on a day with nothing new to report.

• Email preferences now do what they say.

  • Saving the page without changing anything no longer re-subscribes you after opting out of everything.

  • If you hit "Stop all email" you can switch email back on again.

  • Newsletter unsubscribe links unsubscribe you from the newsletter itself.

• Addresses that bounce or report us as spam stop receiving email automatically.

Oozefest

• Oozefest 2026 is live for the whole month of October!

  • Two new currencies (Ectoplasm and Ooze), new October gathering items (Spider Silk and Mythril), three Halloween fish, eight camp defense meters, a 50 level pass, 62 daily and 6 seasonal challenges, The Ooze Emporium, and an avatar border.

  • Trick-or-treating: knock on member profiles, realms, and articles published during the event for treats, tricks, pranks, and Sugar Rush. The old trick-or-treat achievements were replaced by new Oozefest ones.

  • Community bosses: everyone attacks one shared boss with live HP. You get three attacks a day (four for Premium), loot on every hit, and a storyline across five bosses. This is just the beginning!!

  • Bosses hit back. Your character loses HP on each attack and recovers over time, with an HP bar on the boss page.

  • Eight new Oozefest achievement types covering trick-or-treating, boss fights, crafting, shop listings, and candy donations.

• Oozefest fixes since launch:

  • The Ooze Pouch no longer hands out Ectoplasm.

  • Ore that does not fit in your bag no longer turns into candy, and rewards no longer vanish when your bag is full.

  • Boss kill rewards can no longer pay out twice, and a refused attack no longer blanks the boss page.

  • "Sell from your shop" challenges now credit the seller... oops.

• The homepage shows the boss you can fight, with its live health bar, how long is left, and how many people have joined in. Hits from other players pop up over the boss as they happen.

• A Combat Log on the boss page shows every swing as it happens, with crits, Sugar Rush, the camp bonus, the boss biting back, loot, and kills.

• Trick-or-treat buckets got an overhaul.

  • Every member's bucket now holds real candy. Each treat a visitor gets comes out of your bucket, and an empty bucket means everyone who knocks gets tricked.

  • Buckets under 10 candy get 5 more every night at midnight.

  • You can buy a Bucket of Candy in The Ooze Emporium to top yours up, up to 12 candy a day.

  • Hitting a boss can drop candy straight into your own bucket.

  • Your own bucket now shows on your shop page so you can see how full it is.

• The Ooze Emporium has arrived in the Shop.

  • Oozefest Watcher, an animated avatar border with dripping ooze, popping bubbles, and an eyeball that blinks back at people visiting your profile. 100 Platinum.

• The pass reward at level 15 is the Oozefest Night profile header, made from the pumpkin patch art.

• Throwing Ooze at someone actually shows green ooze flying across a spooky moonlit pumpkin patch now. It used to show the water balloon from Reelfest before we ninja fixed it before going live.

Sidequest

• Sidequest got a huge update of its own, with profession trainers, a new crafting interface, Woodworking, and more. Check out the full Sidequest update in the Sidequest realm.

Shops & Marketplace

• Every member now has a personal shop with listing slots, decorations, themes, and critters. Sell in any currency, barter, or run free daily giveaways.

  • A new Shop tab on member profiles shows your shop to everyone.

  • The Marketplace is now a search page with filters, and each result links into the seller's shop. "My Listings" moved to your shop page.

  • The site shop sells shelf upgrades, a Cozy Cabin theme, shelf decorations, and critters.

• Shop prices are now "price each". Buyers pick a quantity and see a running total, and sellers see what they receive after the fee.

  • Previously a whole stack could sell for one unit's price. The affected sellers have been credited and notified.

• Shop owners can take back part of a stack without removing the whole listing, and a decoration on a shelf can no longer be lost when removing it.

• Every purchase now counts towards the shop sales achievement.

News & Guides

• The news page has been rebuilt.

  • A featured band shows the newest article plus the two most-read articles of the week.

  • The same design covers Opinion, Reviews, and every realm's news list.

• Realm guide listings have been rebuilt too. Full readable titles instead of pixel titles cut off at two lines, category chips with counts, title search, and a featured band.

• New Steam games widget for articles and guides. It shows the game's art, a live Steam price with any discount, a link to the game on Steam, and a link to our review when we have one. We should get to see this in play today when the steam sale starts.

Realms

• The realms page has been rebuilt as a shelf of realm tiles with art, instant search, and pagination.

  • Members get "Your realms" and "More realms" tabs, and searching shows both together.

  • Join or leave a realm straight from the page now. Logged-out visitors get a prompt to sign in and follow realms.

  • Tiles are denser on big screens so a 4K display is no longer a wall of giant cards.

• Realm navigation now sits inside the realm header instead of a separate bar below it.

  • The tab for the section you are in is highlighted.

  • On phones the tabs are a scrollable strip instead of a "Menu" button.

  • More of the banner art shows through.

  • Realms without their own navigation (most of them) now get Discussion, News, Guides, and Game tabs.

• The realm page sidebar has been redesigned.

  • A card with the realm's art, game links, about text, and member, thread, and guide stats.

  • A guides card that switches between Most Read and Newest.

  • The daily challenge and recent activities now actually show up there.

• Realm hubs load faster.

Games

• Games on the games page that had a blank grey tile now have cover art, and any game still missing art gets a placeholder instead of nothing.

• Games now show up in site search.

Hearthstone

• The deck widget on the Hearthstone realm now defaults to Hot this week without requiring a guide, so it is no longer empty most weeks. It also has a Build a Deck button.

• Adventure boss and hero listings work again and only list their own adventure, grouped by chapter.

• Faster pages: cards, decks, deck listings, Tavern Brawl, expansions, Mercenaries, parties, bounties, card galleries by day, deck card history, and patch balance changes.

• Tavern Brawl link previews no longer show literal template text, and Mercenaries pages got proper share titles.

• You can no longer create two top-level deckbuilder folders with the same name.

Marvel Snap

• The card database is back. It went from 265 cards to 779 and now includes series, pool, and season pass info. Please note we're still working on card images in some cases.

• New deck database pages: Hot Decks ranked by how often decks are being shared, archetype pages, and an Infinite leaderboard with the month's player count and the top 100.

• Deck codes work in every format including the game's short code. Copying a deck gives you the short code the game uses, and the deckbuilder imports all of them.

• Card and deck pages got better share descriptions and the deck listing loads faster.

Whiteout Survival

• Gift code announcements on Discord now link to the real redeemer page.

• Redemptions are recorded correctly when the same player and code show up twice.

Kingshot & Lordrush

• Gift Code Redeemers are now live for Kingshot and Lordrush, built on the same system as Whiteout Survival.

  • Link your Player IDs and we redeem new gift codes for you automatically.

  • Submit codes you find and see site-wide stats.

  • Accounts that have not logged into the game for a week are marked inactive so we stop trying.

• Both realms have navigation for the Code Redeemer, Guides, and News.

Legends of Runeterra

• The card database is back up to date with the missing cards from sets 7, 7b, 8, and 9 and the Darkin Saga, and it now checks for updates hourly... not that Riot updates them much at all anymore

• Card pages, keyword pages, and deck listings load faster. Cards no longer show a "None" rarity.

Pokemon

• Cards now import nightly with images so new sets fill in fully. Perfect Order and 30th Celebration were sitting mostly empty before - oversight and a half.

• The Pokedex has its own search category and partial name search works.

Other Games

• Magic card embeds in posts load faster and the nightly card import is running again.

• Mythgard set pages load faster and cards got better share descriptions.

• Path of Exile 2 gem, item, and modifier pages now have share descriptions.

• Yu-Gi-Oh card images in posts load faster.

• Palworld TCG deck codes load faster and card imports work again.

Bug Fixes

• Password reset, email confirmation, and first-time social sign-up pages work again. They were showing an error.

• Pages still on the old theme work again: Mercenaries, member collections, events, tavern brawls, and fan creations. Some of these we don't really link anymore though just for the record.

• A guide for a game with no realm no longer breaks the homepage or the guide page. Hilarious bug.

• Game news feeds work again for games that were imported twice.

General

• Staff now get notifications when we've run out of scheduled daily polls and activities.

  • Our insights for activities specifically were poor, that's now fixed as well so this is just an nice addition to making sure we're staying ahead of the issue.

• We have a new system now that allows us to break cache on articles and guides based on bbcode we're using on them.

  • This is primarily for the Hearthstone card reveal period, but it's so much more. We now track what bbcodes are being used in different places on the site so that we can break cache when those bbcodes would normally have new contents.

  • For Hearthstone, this means as soon as cards enter our database with images, caches break on articles and guides that would include them and we can immediately show you those new cards.

• Refreshed the look of comments.

  • Comments are a bit less heavy feeling and the text is a bit nicer on the eyes.

• The leave a comment box now floats on desktop if you scroll past it to make it easier to actually leave a comment on longer threads.

Notifications

• Added new notifications to account management:

  • Private Messages: This isn't new but it's been reworked so it works more reliably.

  • Staff now have new notification types for reports and previously mentioned scheduled content.

• Added the ability to have Discord Webhooks!

  • One you reach level 5 on the website, you can create up to three webhooks to receive different kinds of content on the website.

  • Premium users do not have a level requirement and you may create up to 10 webhooks.

  • Webhooks for News Articles, Guides, Polls, and Activities all have optional game restrictions that you can enable. Want Hearthstone news articles? No problem!

  • We also have Webhooks available specifically for Whiteout Survival codes if you want to have those sent to channels.

Housekeeping

• Removed a bunch of old code from our codebase from the old version of the site, which also let us remove some old dependencies. Small resource savings woo.

Today's patch notes also includes things pushed during the BlizzCon weekend.

Hearthstone

• Card data during card reveal period syncs again from Blizzard's API.

• Brought back our rating system for Hearthstone cards, which was absent from our major site update.

  • This also adds the same rating stars to the card detail pages.

• Discussion buttons for cards during reveal period now point everyone to discuss cards on their database pages.

  • This is very important for us. It helps add custom content to our database pages which will help them perform better on Google which is why we are doing this instead of discussion threads.

• Fixed an issue with our Battle.net data where tokens were not being associated with the cards they belong to. Hello Mastermind Yogg-Saron.

• Fixed the appearance of our countdown timers for card reveals.

• Removed the Cataclysm box from the bottom of the homepage.

• Fixed an issue with us incorrectly importing Spell Schools and Tribes for cards, resulting in "UNK_" or "Invalid" being displayed.

Articles

• Added a new live blogging feature.

  • If you tuned into any of our live panel coverages articles this weekend, such as at the opening ceremony, you came across a new way we are able to deliver instant updates to articles.

  • We will be using this system going forward for live events!

  • Any feedback you have for it, we're open ears.

GEneral

• Added new functionality to the site which allows us to clear the caches for Articles and Guides based on other events taking place on the website.

  • Right now we are using this specifically for Hearthstone. When we add new cards to the database, any articles or guides where these cards should appear will now have instant updates instead of us having to re-save articles and guides.

• Fixed multiple pages which were using excessive amount of memory to load pages.

  • A crawler took the site down a few times during the weekend and so I found the pages responsible, profiled them, and as it turns out we were doing some dumb stuff with our site maps causing them to use more memory than they needed to. Loading multiple of these in quick succession was causing the site to lock up.

  • As a part of this, I profiled the entire website to look for other moments of high memory usage and fixed those too. There was only one other one.

• The global comments page has been moved to the new site theme.

  • This was the final page that hadn't moved over. Goodbye Out of Games v3.

  • I know most people likely don't even know this exists because we don't link it anywhere. It is primarily used as a moderation tool to help us find spam comments across the site.

Activities

• Hearthdle now includes Violet Hold cards.

• Hearthdle now has working spell schools.

• Fixed issues that prevented daily challenges from going out.

• If for some reason we do not publish a daily challenge, streaks will no longer be reset.

Seasons

• Breaking Ground has begun!

• There are three new actions you can take on pages - Woodcutting, Mining, and Foraging.

  • Fishing will return mid-season.

• We're building towards some big end of year goals... Goals that I wanted to achieve many years ago with our event system but they were too big at the time.

• The season is quite similar to last month's fishing-themed season, so there isn't much new going on, but it's worth the build up to what we have planned.

• Your skills now can earn experience and level up. Level 100 is the current cap.

Games

• Added a new Games section.

• You can see upcoming releases, recent releases, and all the games we have in our database.

• We also show deals! Right now this is limited to games taking part in Humble Bundles but will be expanded upon.

• You can filter by what system the game is for (modern systems only, for now anyway).

• We also have month-by-month breakdowns for upcoming game releases.

• You can now leave a review for any game on the site. Why not give Hearthstone a rating?

  • We ask you to review multiple points with ratings out of 10.

  • You can optionally write a written review as well.

• You can mark games as "Wanted", "Playing", and "Played".

Content

• Articles now have a subtle fancy background near the top before written content.

  • You've seen these faded blurry backgrounds elsewhere, like Hearthstone card pages.

• We can now embed live steam prices in articles.

• All articles with an associated steam game now show a promo block at the end of articles promoting the game.

Misc

• Fixed video embeds not appearing in threads, comments, and guides.

Reelfest

• Fixed an issue with Realm Waters not having fishable fish.

Activities

• Added new activity types!

  • Mini Crossword - A 5x5 grid crossword puzzle.

  • Picture Crossword - Draw a picture given numerical clues.

  • Memory Match - Match the pictures up in pairs to complete the game.

  • Word Ladder - Start with one word and change one letter at a time to end at another word.

• Do note that although we support all of these now, we will be adding new activities with these types over time. We could dump a ton of new activities, but it's better for us to drip them out.

Arcade

• We now have a lobby system to find other people to play multiplayer on-site games with.

• Multiplayer games on Out of Games require you to be logged-in to an account in good standing to play.

• Lobbies have chat, as do our multiplayer games. You don't have to use it, but it can be fun to banter with your opponents.

  • Do note that like everything else on the site, chat is logged. Anyone breaking our rules on the site will have their permissions to participate restricted or will face account bans.

• Added our first multiplayer game: Loot Drop.

  • It's Connect 4.

Hearthstone

• Fixed an issue preventing game data imports due to Hearthstone's updated Unity version.

RPG

• Added more behind the scenes stuff for skills.

  • It's almost like this fishing thing is leading to something grand...

I'll add in, many years ago we had detailed this system for our winter on-site event and it was quite extensive in what we wanted to do. It was ultimately way too much work to make happen and there is a reason we rolled out a leveling system on the site earlier this year.

This year, we're going to be doing something very similar during December and January and over the next few months we will be growing towards it.

Seasons

• Fixed Arcade Hour daily challenge so it now correctly fires upon completing two arcade activities.

• Arcade Hour now can be completed even if you fail to successfully complete dle games.

• Manually fixed Arcade Hour for people who should have already earned it today.

General

Achievements

• Added over 80 new website achievements.

• Added a new Seasons achievement category.

• Added a new Reelfest achievement category.

• Added a new Professions achievement category.

• Achievements now have pretty popups again.

• Achievements can now fire through our websocket connection which means if something earns you an achievement while you're on a page, you'll be told about it.

Listings

• All listings are now more performant due to cache additions in how we build out pagination.

Activities

• Fixed an issue that prevented daily activities from appearing at midnight site time (Eastern US/CAN).

Private Messages

• Fixed the styling error which made replies to private messages centered.

Authentication

• Fixed an issue with Steam logins.

Hearthstone

Pack Opener

• Saved packs without a name no longer cause errors.

Mythgard

Deckbuilder

• Fixed an issue with 404s.

RPG

• Fixed a positional issue with casting your fishing line.

A few updates have been pushed out this morning for our Reelfest seasonal event.

Seasons

• Fixed an issue where fishing icon was on top of the scavenger hunt icon.

• Added a "GO" button to daily challenge prompts to help guide people to the correct location (these are in activities).

• Fixed an issue where water balloon buttons were not appearing on user comments.

• Fixed bad styling on mobile devices for the Tackle Log.

August reels in the first-ever season on Out of Games!

For those of you who were around "back in the day", you'll remember Oozefest and Snowpocalypse, two on-site events that we'd run on a yearly basis around Halloween and Christmas. Reelfest is a new imagining of the events system which we are now calling Seasons.

You can access information about Reelfest directly on the Reelfest page.

Seasons

Seasons are a monthly occurrence which brings something new and fun to Out of Games. The current plan is to bring Reelfest back next August but with additional content so that we can build on these themes every single year to make them truly amazing events. Based on your feedback though, we could always change our thoughts on this.

Season Pass

There is a free season pass available to everyone. Progression takes place by earning seasonal experience in our daily and seasonal challenges.

Inventory (NEW!)

Now that we have a concept of items on Out of Games, we also have an inventory system! Upon finding items in your travels on the site, they will be placed into your inventory. You can access your inventory at any time by clicking on your profile in the top of the website. Mobile users, check the navigation hamburger icon.

The inventory can hold 50 items by default. Each time you gain levels on the website you earn additional slots. Additional slots can also be purchased in the shop.

Marketplace (NEW!)

Many items can be exchanged with other users of the website via the Marketplace. Prices are decided by the community, so trade for what you feel is right. If you want to get back to the marketplace, you can find it on the primary navigation.

What is reelfest?

Reelfest is our first seasonal event. It takes place during August as is themed around fishing. We're all taking place in this on-site RPG and this month fishing is the key.

• Every 15 minutes you can cast your lure to try and catch a fish.

• Different areas of the site have different pools of fish.

  • Work as a community to pool together your findings.

  • Staff members other than myself have no idea about the internal mechanics of this, so they can also have fun with the community figuring out how things work.

• If your inventory is full when you catch a fish, it is automatically sold at the docks for vendor price.

Fishing?

Hell yeah! There are 30 different fish you can catch by casting your lure. Do note that where you are on the website matters as some fish only live in certain types of waters.

There is a location on the site called Headline Harbor. I wonder what pages those could be under...

It should be noted that any fish you catch and keep will stay in your inventory forever. They do stack up to 99, so Reelfest won't be capping out anyone's inventories. There may be use for fish in other events during the year if you hold onto them. There will also be fishing present in other events, it just won't be a main focus.

Tackle Log

Everyone that's been catching fish can see a log of all your catches in the Tackle Log. We also keep track of the highest size you catch for each fish... how large of fish are you catching?

Sand Dollars

Our new currency for Reelfest is Sand Dollars.

On September 2, all Sand Dollars will be convert to gold at a rate of 5 Sand Dollars to 1 Gold. So be sure to spend your currency during the month of August because you can't take it with you.

Snowflakes, our currency from Snowpocalypse will be staying around each year though. That was our promise years ago and we're keeping it at least for this year's run of it in December and January. There may be some other uses for them...

Water Balloons

Another throwable currency? You bet! Water Balloons can be thrown at members during the event so go and get each other soaking wet.

Note that as of launch our buttons for throwing balloons is only up on profile pages. This will be fixed by the afternoon, comments are supposed to have the buttons appear as well.

New Shop Items

You can head on over to the shop to buy Water Balloons and more inventory slots under the Reelfest category. We also have a few pins available featuring some of our harder to get fish. Spend those Sand Dollars!

New Scavenger Hunt

We have a reelfest-themed scavenger hunt now available. Check out Summer Treasure Dive!

This also marks the moment that we have activated daily activities on Out of Games. Each day a new activity will be published and it considered the daily one. Some of them will be focused on our on-site event so be sure to head on over to activities each day.

Path of Exile 2

  • Unique Items is filling in too its just a lot of data.

Whiteout Survival

• Fixed an issue with the code redeemer

  • Century games changed the way code redemptions work

  • Now, you must go back to our tool to input your state number to continue using it

  • I am working on sending out messages to everyone who uses the tool to let you know

Apps

• Added a new page for our Companion App.

• Updated our page for our Hearthstone Deck Tracker plugin.

• Pages for our apps now automatically update when new versions are available for download.

Game Stats Platform

• We have background processing now of game stats.

• The initial rollout of this is purely on our backend and our Companion App (soon Deck Tracker Plugin) submits game stats to the service.

• This week we will begin exposing stats data to the front end of the website.

  • I don't expect it to be very useful right away due to a low population size.

Whiteout Survival

• Fixed an issue where gift codes were unable to be redeemed.

  • We had a small infrastructure issue that was causing redemptions to crash. Everyone should have the redemptions that were queues up now.

Hearthstone

• Made improvements to how we process collections that are uploaded from clients.

  • Includes adding support for Signature and Diamond versions of cards.

The Out of Games Companion Desktop application has been updated. You can find the latest updates at our dedicated companion page.

Companion is Windows only.

https://outof.games/companion/

Why Companion?

As Out of Games branches out into different games, so does the need to start building up data. For Hearthstone, this would come in the form of tracking games that are played so that we can begin to create insights on the website of what the meta looks like, live.

For Hearthstone, there are other tools that do the same thing; Hearthstone Deck Tracker and Firestone. You can run the Out of Games Companion alongside these tools but have your data also upload to our service to help us create a way to build out a free way to deliver the meta.

Out of Games has always been an ad-supported website. We've had a few paid features, like finding decks with your card collection, or being able to earn more experience, but we've never put content behind a paywall.

It's important we keep it that way.

Out of Games is not a premium-focused website. Our mission is to deliver top quality information about games to the audiences and so as a way of helping us do this and to support the endeavour, you can give us your gameplay data.

Companion supports Hearthstone right now, and not very in-depth yet. There are almost certainly problems. On initial release, our in-game overlay is not recommended for anyone being serious about Hearthstone because it isn't reliable yet. But, that's why we're releasing this as a beta test.

Companion is fast. Why? Because we aren't using clunky chromium-based frameworks. Everything is as native to the operating system as we can make it so it stays lean.

Patch Notes

• Added support for Hearthstone Collection uploading.

• Added support for Hearthstone game data uploading.

• You can optionally share your games played to our public feed (interface on Out of Games coming soon) so everyone can see what is being played. You can also decide to share the data anonymously; no username included.

• Added a basic deck tracker to see during matches.

  • It is not recommended for general use yet.

• Added a dedicated spot to see News from Out of Games on the home screen of the app.

• Added filtered News to the Hearthstone spot.

How you Can Help

• Give us your feedback.

• Tell us how this application can help you be a better gamer.

• What other games could we support to help you?

An update has been released for the Out of Games Hearthstone Deck Tracker Plugin, our first public release of the Stable branch.

You can find the latest version of our plugin for Hearthstone Deck Tracker at the following page https://outof.games/realms/hearthstone/decktracker-plugin/

Patch Notes

• Updated to work with the most recent version of Hearthstone Deck Tracker.

• Now supports uploading more than just Normal and Golden cards to your collection.

• Fixed an issue where uploads weren't working at all.

  • Do note that once uploaded, it takes a moment for the website to process your collection data, and many moments in the case where there are lots of users processing collections.

• Added new functionality for automatic updates of the plugin.

  • When a new version is detected, you can use the Plugins menu on Hearthstone Deck Tracker to select "Out of Games" and then hit the "Update Available" menu item.

  • You have to close Hearthstone Deck Tracker after clicking on update once it confirms that the update has been downloaded.

  • I recommend waiting a minute before reopening Hearthstone Deck Tracker just to make sure that everything updated smoothly.

• Added support for beta versions of the plugin.

  • We aren't opting anyone into this by default, nor can you opt-in right now because we don't have any beta versions. We will use the beta channel to test any larger features that could come to the plugin in the future.

Warning

If you are currently using the Out of Games / Out of Cards version of the Plugin (0.0.6 or 0.0.7) you need to delete the "OutOfCards.dll" and "OutOfCards.dll.config" files from your Hearthstone Deck Tracker Plugin directory before starting Hearthstone Deck Tracker with the new plugin. The new files are named OutofGames.dll and so they will not overwrite the old ones.

Nothing bad should happen if you run them side by side, it just will duplicate uploads and if you're on an old enough version, it's broken anyway.

I also recommend deleting the "Out of Cards" directory located at
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\HearthstoneDeckTracker

The reason? It starts you completely fresh with the new plugin version. If you don't, we migrate your settings over to the new build.

Hey all, smaller update today.

General

Accounts

• Fixed an issue where people logging in with BattleNet and Steam were unable to login to their accounts.

Deckbuilders

• The count of an individual card in a deck can not go above 50 in any situation.

  • Realistically this should be much less, but I'm keeping it loose in case some game ends up with a weird detail.

  • Yes, someone added 2 million of a card to a deck.

• All TCGs supported on the site now have their deckbuilders active.

Card Listings

• Added the "decks i can create" functionality to games other than Hearthstone.

Hearthstone

• Fixed an issue with our keyword pages not loading Fabled+ due to a slug collision with Fabled.

Heyo! A new update has gone live on Out of Games. Here are the changes.

General

Backend

• Improved loading times for the site.

  • We had some downtime earlier today, a good problem to have when you're getting extra traffic, and some optimizations were made to keep things running smoother.

Hearthstone

Cards

• Imported a full set of data to catch a few cards that were missing from our database.

  • They were older cards, but still important that we have them. This shouldn't be an issue going forward since our patches are more intelligently handled.

Decks

• Added Hot, New, Top sorts to our deck listings.

  • A long time ago we had these, they caused some problems, we removed them. Now they're back and very performant!

• Made our URLs friendlier and SEO driven for decks.

  • We previously had custom pages for decks for all the classes, now we do the same thing for archetypes and the sorts.

  • This will be applied to other games on the site too as we roll out more updates to their pages. Hearthstone, as always, is our playground first for new features.

• PRO users can now filter decks by cards in their collections.

  • This feature requires a decent chunk of computing power on the backend, so we aren't able to offer it freely, however, we do show all users how much dust decks cost you to make.

  • In addition to this, you can also search for decks you can make but require a certain amount of dust (like 1600 dust so you can find a deck that you might be missing a legendary for).

Happy Hearthstone Violet Hold release day everyone!

Today we're putting out the second largest site update of the year - the first being our major redesign. There is a ton of stuff that is a part of it and I'm sure folks will find something that doesn't work quite right so be sure to let us know what doesn't feel good in the comments.

Some of the things in these patch notes were released over the prior two weeks, so if you've already seen them, don't worry, you aren't going crazy.

Let's jump right into it.

PRO

• Fixed the incorrect price displaying on the PRO page.

  • Previously this was showing some bad math and it made it look way more expensive than it actually was.

• PRO is the Out of Games premium feature. It removes ads when you browse which gives you a way better experience and it opens up more XP earns for your activity, points for our upcoming website cosmetic shop revamp, and is the best way you can support the site. Our cheapest plan is a year of Out of Games PRO for $15 CAD (which is around $11 USD). We don't have a subscription, it's a pay once and we won't charge you again until you decide to renew.

• Note that anyone who has previously been PRO and no longer has an active membership will be receiving an on-site message and email detailing the cheaper price point and how you can reactivate. We will also send you messages when your plan is about to run out as a reminder. Thank you to everyone who has supported Out of Games / Out of Cards / HearthStation in the past. You're seriously awesome for that and it is with your help that we've been able to come as far as we have. To think how little we had when the site first came online all those years ago... wild stuff!

General

Search

• Realms can now be searched

• Added a new feature which allows you to quickly activate site search with your keyboard. By hitting "Ctrl+K" ("CMD+K" on macOS) on your keyboard, the site search will highlight and give you a box in the center of your screen to start looking for things.

• More searchable things are coming in our next deployment. Stay tuned!

Collection Managers

• We have a brand new feature on the site for collection management. Our original collection management feature was... it existed.

• You can see your collection stats, add and remove cards, see your favourite cards, and even create binders (PRO).

• You can make parts of your collection public so that anyone can see the cards you've collected. If you want to show off your golden card collection for mages, you could make a custom binder for that.

• Note that binders are primarily a PRO feature, but everyone can create a binder to play around with it and share a smaller subset of their cards.

TCG Decks

• A large part of Out of Games has been the ability to share decks with other members of the community and the public. What if you don't want something to be public though? We now support three visibility options for your decks:

  • Public: Everyone on the site can see them, they will appear in listings.

  • Private: No one on the site can see them, you can share them with specific members.

  • Unlisted: Anyone that knows the URL can view your deck, does not appear in listings.

• Do note that staff can always see your decks. Anyone trying to do anything funny will get a swift banhammer (like spamming our database with nonsense).

Member Profiles

• Removed the Decks tab and replaced it with Creations.

  • Different types of guides you create will appear here now for others to find. That includes right now decks for various card games and for staff, our literal guides.

  • We only show a specific type of guide when you have created a guide for that thing already. So if you have no Hearthstone Decks, that won't appear in your profile.

Guides

• Comments no longer span the entire width of the website.

RSS

• RSS feeds are now detectable again in our site markup on news feeds if you use an RSS reader.

Advertisements

• Added a new siderail ad that will display on higher desktop resolutions on non-full width pages.

  • Currently testing the slot for the next 2-4 weeks to see how it improves our monetization.

• Fixed an issue where ads were causing layout shifts at the top of the site as they loaded in which was an awful experience. Yes, ads are still an awful experience. You can join Out of Games PRO for a low yearly cost if you want to support us <3

Deckbuilders

• We have a bunch of new deckbuilders. Looking forward to feedback on them to help change the way we integrate with each specific card game. Most builders right now are quite "generic".

Social Media

• We have resumed posting to our social media accounts when new news articles are written, though we will likely be posting other things too! Follow us on X, Bluesky, and Facebook.

Newsletter

• We are starting up our newsletter again, though we are targeting daily instead of weekly digests. You can opt-in via account management.

• I don't expect this to be immediately daily as we tweak things and test stuff out over the next week or two, but afterwards we're going full steam ahead.

Arcade

• You can now rate games on the arcade.

  • This is a rating for the game as a whole, not just that day's unique game (in the case a game has daily games like our "dle" style games.

Hearthstone

Card Pages

• Added a button to add the card to your collection.

• Added a button to favourite cards.

Decks

• Decks with 0 cards will no longer appear in listings.

Deckbuilder

• You can now press "/" on a keyboard to gain focus of the search box within the deckbuilder interface.

• Azalina Soulsever now correctly restricts deckbuilding to 20 cards.

Collection Manager

• Moved over the old collection manager to our new one.

• Do note that we have some work to do for Signature and Diamond cards still. That part of our card database needs some serious work.

• Originally I wanted this to go live with the previous Hearthstone expansion and most of the work was done for it, but my personal life got flipped upside down for a few months and so it got put on the backburner.

• Do note as well that currently our HSDT plugin is still not working. I'm going to be taking a look at that soon because we should be able to have automatic imports of your cards. There is also a dedicated Out of Games desktop application in the works though as well which will have this functionality (and for other games).

Data Importer

• We now automatically import basic Hearthstone patch data without the involvement of humans. Woo automation! This isn't the full picture, but expect very fast updates now when patches hit and there are data changes.

  • Long-term I'm looking to get more automated aspects out of Hearthstone patches so we can be the fastest to update our data.

• Fixed issues that were preventing data imports from non-client sources (battlenet) during card reveal period.

LEgends of Runeterra

Card Pages

• Added a button to add the card to your collection.

• Added a button to favourite cards.

Deckbuilder

• Rebuilt using our new deckbuilding technology so that you can once again create decks for Legends of Runeterra.. not that anyone asked for it.

  • This was one of those things that was never migrated over to the new site, so I'm glad to have it for the sake of history.

Collection Manager

• Moved over the old collection manager to our new one.

Data Importer

• Modernized our data importer.

Marvel Snap

Card Pages

• Added a button to add the card to your collection.

• Added a button to favourite cards.

Deckbuilder

• Rebuilt using our new deckbuilding tech so you can build decks again!

Collection Manager

• Added a new collection manager feature.

Important Notes

• We still need to do a data import for Marvel Snap. We are very out of date with our card data so please bear with us as we add that to our priority list again.

Magic The Gathering

Deckbuilder

• Added a deckbuilder! We support scryfall search terms to help find cards.

• Added a deck listing!

Data Imports

• Our data imports work again and we will be importing cards on a regular basis once more (daily at the very least).

Palworld TCG

• Palworld TCG releases on July 30, 2026. We are preparing! Join the Palworld TCG Realm.

• Added a starter database for Palworld's TCG.

• Added a deckbuilder. Note that we do not have a full idea of what the cards look like, so deckbuilding is not feature complete yet but you can mess around with decks.

• Added collection management.

Yu-Gi-Oh

Card Pages

• Added a button to add the card to your collection.

• Added a button to favourite cards.

Deckbuilder

• Added a very basic deckbuilder; There is still some custom work to be done.

• Also added deck listing!

Data Imports

• Our data imports work again and we will be importing cards on a regular basis once more (daily at the very least).

Path of Exile 2

• Added a new realm for Path of Exile 2.

  • Previously we were sharing the POE realm for 1 and 2 but decided in this case, they needed to be separate due to our tool and database integrations.

• Added listings for gems, items, and uniques. These are all quite early and based on initial datamining so we're still working on improvements to them.

• Our ultimate goal is to add in build guides for Path of Exile 2 and to support imports from Path of Building 2.

That concludes today's site update! Thanks for reading =)
