New Stats Analysis

Submitted 3 years, 3 months ago by

Frankly the numbers are super early and I don't think there's very much firm Intel to gain, but we can have some fun for sure.

https://lor.mobalytics.gg/stats/archetypes

1. Ziggs as it's being built right now is doing badly its somewhere between 40%

2. Darkness control is very good 56%

3. Fizz has a 51% winrate

4. Temo Catalyn has a 41% winrate

5. Burst meta decks are strong, Sivir, Zed, Akshan, Lu Lu, Azir Irelia

6. Draven Sion is probably worse than Draven Jinx, but they are both good

7.  Poppy and Tristana are good at 56%

8. Pirate Aggro still does aggro things

So based on my previous predictions I was wrong there are solid control, aggro, midrange and combo lists so overall things feel healthy.

We're never gonna have a state in this game where all champions and decks are equal, but as long as there are valid archetypes that represent each playstyle that's good enough.

Honestly, I'm surprised how well Darkness Control is doing right now. I knew that it won't be terrible, but I'm still surprised that it has a dominant winrate over other newer decks. I've played against it quite a bit but I've stomped it every time so I guess I just faced bad players.

Fizz Nami elusives feels like the new TF/Fizz. A lot of burst damage coming out of nowhere but a lot more unit based than burn. Deck feels like a hard deck to play so I'm actually not that surprised by a lower winrate. Also it loses pretty hard to removals and pings. Probably going to be tier 2 in the end.

Draven Sion is good but don't run it in SI that's kinda meme. PnZ discard with Poro Cannons and Get Excited!. The deck has a lot of grindy tools while having enough pressure early that it feels pretty good. Sion levels insanely quick as well, I've never seen it played as level 1.

Teemo Caitlyn is RNG-reliant but it can definitely steamroll if you don't have removal for their engines.

Poppy seems to be the most versatile champion and I dig it. A lot of ways to play it and they're similar in playstyle yet not too similar. MF/Poppy Scout Suppressor, Poppy Teemo Allegiance, Poppy Lulu, Poppy Zed, Poppy Taric (personally the strongest one). Poppy's pretty good.

Xerath is crying in a corner. Ziggs is being tested out a lot but yeah no solid decks thus far. I wonder if it's best to not run either and go for Taliyah/X again.

I know a lot of people build BC Allegiance using The Bandle Tree, but has anyone tried using Yordles in Arms? I've like smashed most matchups using a more aggressive swarm gameplan and slotting in Bandle Tree only as a secondary wincon. I'm... going for a huge prediction and I'm calling this deck tier 1. Just don't run Tristana lmao.

Take my words with a grain of salt. I'm unranked and only play casuals lmao.

I think thah Sion Draven sooner or later will drop Sion in favour of an more aggressive curve. It turns out that a Darius, that is arguably harder to level for 1 extra mana but with a Backup wincondition is not carrying well... which could explain why nobody played Darius before.

In general however nexus got great additions and will rule quite well.

Poppy is strong no matter how you play her it seems which isn't too surprising given here repeated bannerman effect that doesn't require alligiance and therefore doesn't need more than a vaguely wide going strategy to do it's thing.

My Poppy Taric deck looks quite busted but I think most Poppy decks just work because her lvl 1 is far too strong.

Fizz Nami is... annoying and I think it will end up being one of the better archetypes if one figures the best spell spamming shell for it(which proably won't be pranks).

And about multiregion nonsens. It's.... doing it's thing I guess and refined versions will proably be an agressive midrange deck with a lategame wincondition. Is it tier 1 material ? I doubt that but tier 2 maybe.

Darkness will proably also be a central deck in the meta simply because it has pretty cheap removal for days and is hard to disrupt.

In general it is way too early to give actually accurate predictions on the meta so i will stop doing so now :).

    Oh and better buff Darius

Poppy Taric looks strong but I think it feels awkward to play two champs that both come down on 4) (makes combo-ing them a bit awkward).  Fizz/Nami makes sense as a combo for obvious reasons.   Sion will probably get buffed slightly in some way (lower mana cost or more stats possibly?) to make him different from Draven.  Xerath needs buffs.  I don't know how.  I'm a little peeved cause I was so excited for Xerath too.  His only relevant form his level 3, which means you need to run Sun Disc, which means you either run landmark advancement cards (in addition to the other landmark synergy stuff) or you need to run mono shurmia...

...which I haven't tried yet, but I don't see miraculously working out of the blue.

The curve of Taric Poppy is not really awkward considering that Taric + Golden Aegis is a round 5 play anyways so you play Poppy on round 4 and follow up with taric + Golden Aegis the following round . (4 unit mana + 4 unit mana + 4 mana (1 unit mana +3 spell mana))

Taric Golden Aegis is such a fun combo, but it's honestly broken if we are being honest with ourselves.

They really need to do something about that interaction, or increase the cost so it can't happen so early at the very least.

Lot of good stuff coming out of this set.

Build flexibility is through the roof, and while auto build lists like darkness and discard are very good, Ziggs and Xerath have yet to find perfect homes despite being great cards.

We can say the same thing about Catalyn.

Tristana was thought to be bad but is already in a 56 % winrate list along with Poppy.

And elusive decks are doing elusive things.

So thats 6 out of 9 Champs already putting in the work and the other 3 are likely being built wrong at the moment.

I think for my next trick I will try to combine Ziggs with Swain. The amount of stuns + burn triggers will proably be a Nightmare for opponent once you have a level 2 Swain on board.

I've been playing solely Fizz Nami and Bandle City allegiance but I can't imagine Tristana being good. Sure the deck does well but Tristana is just a more expensive Fae Bladetwirler most of the times.

Also yeah Poppy Taric is pretty strong but I don't think it's tier 1 material since it relies so hard on the champs that the gameplan falls off pretty hard if you don't hit then. It's also not impossible to beat as well since they have a huge moment of vulnerability that it could just auto lose to a lot of removals.

Take my words with a grain of salt. I'm unranked and only play casuals lmao.

Sure the deck wasn't good if it would completely rely on the combo but I think the support package is on it's own quite strong and espeicially the likes of Mountain Sojourners Sparkleflyand Frightened Ibex can create strong lines of play even without the stars of the show.

A better comparison for Tristana might be that vanilla 3 mana Demacia epic the buffs your board every time a card dies, only all you have to do is play your followers for the effect, and the card itself gets bigger.

Could you give me the code for the deck that uses yordle in arms

I'm currently making it as full Mono but obviously you can cut down and add whatever you like to it. I suggest you can cut 1 Stress Defense because I only put them in against decks like Lee Sin, but it's hard to find its uses often. You could also try cutting 1 Poro Sled because it's not as good as I thought it'd be. 1 Fizz was added just for a faster The Bandle Tree wincon and I didn't want to get too heavy on 4 drops.

Regardless, this is the list I am currently running even if it's not fully effective and this has been doing pretty well. I've beaten most Darkness decks, most Nami Fizz, most Sion. Deck should only realistically lose to decks that A) out tempo it like Poppy decks or B) decks that can clear the board more than once reliably or C) Deny Yordles in Arms.

Tenor of Terror, Bandle City Mayor, Gruff Grenadier, and Bandle Commando are the definite standouts of the deck.

Take my words with a grain of salt. I'm unranked and only play casuals lmao.
