Someone on the team's DEFINITELY an Even Secret Hunter sympathizer.
The secret package this time around is SO MUCH better than anything Hunter has ever had before, and Secret Hunter has already worked in the past. There is reason to be optimistic about it.
Fckn 'Ring Toss' for Hunter? Are you serious.
Insane card. A tutor and a damaging spell
Flanking Strike
The premise for this card is surely to replicate the success seen by Phase Stalker, but without the ability to hit face, its unlikely to find a home into most hunter decks unless hunter gets a really aggressive secret somewhere down the line.
Its fine on its own, but I think Dun Baldar Bunker is a better card, and there's only so many secrets you can put into your deck.
That’s largely true, but if you have enough cards that pull the secrets out for you, then you can handle having a lot more than normal. And while only a couple Hunter secrets are meta, most of them are still good. Definitely good enough to support a deck that cheats them out cheaply and thins itself in the process.
I’m looking forward to trying this out. And while I’m not sure about the viability of the deck NOW, I’m sure this and Dun Baldar Bunker will be part of a T1 deck sometime in the next year.
I mostly play Reno Secret Hunter in Wild (FWIW - on HSReplays, Hunter is the 3rd-best Reno class, with a 53.9% win-rate.) My own deck plays 10 Secrets, so there won't be a problem giving any of the new Secret-synergy cards a test-run. Secret Hunter won't be viable in Wild, and although Even Hunter (62.6%) remains one of the top decks in the format, neither of the new cards is fast enough for the deck to run.
In Standard, the deck will only see play if it's better than simply going face, though a possible alternative is a hybrid deck - Aggro Secret Hunter. It's certainly possible if there are enough ways for the deck to play free-ish Secrets.
I'm assuming the Hero card has something to do with Secrets or else this whole thing seems entirely pointless.
Awesome card, but there are only two decent Hunter secrets in standard atm (Explosive Trap and Pack Tactics). One more good secret and you will be seeing this for the rest of the year I bet.
Edit: Forgot to mention that this adds progress to Defend the Dwarven District.
