Nice meme, but I feel like that's too random to every produce consistent result. A neat Naga generator to keep the chain going I guess, but I doubt that'l be necessary
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Pretty cool card. I like the cheaper Swampqueen Hagatha vibe, and this could do some good things in the right decks. If Naga decks are a thing, I can't imagine why they wouldn't run this (unless Kazakus, Golem Shaper is just straight-up better). I know there's got to be a least one class whose spell pool will be tight enough that they can guarantee getting a good option most of the time. I'll definitely be hoping to open it so I can experiment.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Its just being upended by Venomous Scorpid in many ways, including cost, restrictions, and the fact that scorpid will kill anything barring divine shield while this card and its student can't.
It does has its own niche, in that the student can be bounced for multiple castings of the same spell, so essentially if you get Sinister Strike, you can conceivably just deal 3 damage each time the card goes back to your hand. The fact that the student will likely cost 1 makes that all the more easier.
The other would be the fact that this card is a naga. And the student being a naga as well, means there's plenty of fuel for a naga deck.
Outside of that, there's just very little reason not to just play the better card in scorpid.
Swampqueen Hagatha but neutral. Swampqueen Hagatha didn't see much play, but that was because she was simply too slow. And the horror cost 5 mana. But School Teacher somes out a LOT faster, and 3 and lower cost spells are often pretty good. Also the tokens are 1 mana, which end up with a lot more mana cheat.
This will be a must-include in many naga-based decks, because the 1/1s are naga's, and on top of that cards like these are VERY powerfull when there is a small spell pool. And those spell pools are at their tiniest around the rotation. School Teacher is going to see LOTS of play at the very least during this expansion, but it might fall off quite a bit in future expansions... unless the newly printed 3 and lower cost spells are very powerfull.
One deck that's going to guarantee run this is Naga Priest, because priest loves getting more spells out, and they need nagas for their Serpent Wigs. Also maybe some kind of Naga mage will run this.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
This naga is actually pretty good. Basically a 6/5 for 5 mana with an upside you choose depending on board situation. Very great flavor too for teaching the nagaling the spell. Not sure which class will have the best naga/spell heavy synergies (maybe hunter?) but also remember some classes will have small spell selections to choose from (remember how Deck of Lunacy rekt Forged in the Barrens meta) so School teacher will probably only see play when it's released then be forgotten
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Looks decent and interesting! Not sure where this will fit in ... maybe hunter or priest depending on how much more Naga Synergies we will get.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
I wonder what class this will be best in. That would depend on the pool of 3-mana or less spells for each class, of course, as well as if this isn't terrible in every class. I guess maybe you might discover some cheap spell you wouldn't mind having a third copy of.
She also tutors 3 Piranha Swarmers on her off hours.
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
The Nagaling seems pretty useful for Naga Mage Miracle turns, but other than that, it seems a bit much for a limited discover pool.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Quite a strong card, it might see some play given how it has nice stats for its cost, and is versatile too.
I am highly surprised no one mentioned this but with Death Knights it ignores rune restrictions on spells and draws from the entire Death Knight spell pool. You can be using a 3x Blood rune deck and use School teachers to search for Frost spells for example.
It's all random; but it is worth noting. It adds some spicy splash to an otherwise known equation.
All Death Knight discovers ignore Rune restrictions unless specified by the card.

I'm the only one who stops to see if he's dead.
Hmm. Turns out he's dead.
