I'm surprised by Smokestack's similarity to Mortal Coil, given powercreep over the years.
Is it that this new card is terrible by modern standards or that the old one still holds up this day?
Doesn't matter if it's good or not, if you're playing Excavate you're playing as much Excavate as you can. I mean, look at Praise Galakrond!. That actually saw play.
Far as I know Mortal Coil is that card you put in your deck because you dont have other cards to put in.
Its not that great these days. You'd be better off playing Tour Guide 90% of the time.
