To Craft, or not to Craft...

With my dust I got from the recent nerfs I was able to also dust my Bloodreaver Gul'dan and make it golden.  Now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place as I am trying to determine what else I am going to craft. Here's my situation.  I am trying to get the last 100 wins with Hunter, which I loathe playing but I want my golden hero, and the last 40 wins with Warrior to get that golden hero.

With that in mind, I am wondering if crafting either of their recent quests is worth it.  I have seen people playing Wild Warrior with Hack the System and it looks wicked fun... but I am not sure if I want to spend the 1600 to do it.  Then there is Hunter, which to be fair, the only deck that I can play with that class is the Deathrattle Hunter.  I'm a combo player and occasionally dabble with aggro.  I have the Mech Hunter, but I hate playing it.  Anyone that plays these classes and/or the quests, please let me know if they are worth crafting or if there are other cards that work better

  • I played a lot of Quest Warrior in Standard in preparation for an article we put up on the site - it was not great. Decks with Dr. Boom, Mad Genius were just objectively better.

Having said that, when you got the Quest off and started getting value, it was a lot of fun to run people over. It might be possible to make a consistent enough deck in Wild to at least have that fun, even if it can't stand up to the sheer value other decks can produce.

  • Warrior quest, as things are right now, is absolutely terrible: the payoff is considerable but you have to shape your game plan so much that the new Hero Power won't make all your efforts worth it. Do you want something different for the last 40 wins with Warrior? Think big, play bigger: Big Warrior.

I suppose you hate Hunter for all the SMOrc shenanigans, right? Then the new quest isn't something you'd like to play for sure.

  • Well, i personaly think the Warrior Quest Deck is awful. Not that strong and not that fun to play. Like Avalon said you could try Big Warrior - that is a lot of fun :) - Or if you simply wanna make the last 40 wins fast try somekind of Aggro Build.

But i would not recommend to Craft the Quest.

For Hunter .... well there are lot`s of different Builds you could try - truly depending on what you wanna play... If you wanna have Fun you could try some sort of OTK Hunter using the Crocodile or King Krush :) - otherwise Deathrattle or Mech would be the way to go i think.

  • Why do you want to force yourself into playing Hunter, when you dont like the class? What is the point of golden Hero, if you are not going to play with it afterwards? Better spend your dust and energy on class you do like to play, so you can enjoy the game ;-)

Btw as Shadows said, warror quest is not very good right now.

  • ^ True that.. though, as people mentioned,  combo hunter is a thing!

Subject 9 , Master's Call and Scarlet Webweaver allows for some creative stuff.

Emeriss is fun and Jepetto Joybuzz enables some Vereesa Windrunner / Malygos plays.

  • Bloodreaver Guldan is just amazing and I would craft it first.

You reminded me of how Kibler got completely stomped out of nowhere in one turn (the fun starts at 5:00):

So my point is that Hunter could get interesting... but I still hate it to play with it.

LOL great video, I have had the same reaction as this dude a few times ha ha. Many times I have imagined I have done this to others....well at least in my mind they did..

Please read the very first sentence of his original post, thanks.

@OP: Both quests are bad, both in standard and in wild. If you like combo decks then you can try either Dead Man's Hand warrior or Patron warrior. For hunter, egg/deathrattle hunter is probably your best bet. Especially now that priests are at an all time low.

Honestly, it's just something I want to do. Having all the heroes in gold sounds like a fun goal

It is indeed a fun goal, and as there isn't that many milestones or achievements in-game, you gotta make the most of the one we have :
      -9 class x 500 ranked wins
      -Heroic mode for all Adventures
      -12 wins Arena run
.. and the legend card back

Am I forgetting anything or is the list that short?

  • You could try playing Aggro Warrior in standard.

It's not super expensive (allthough a bit heavy on the epics) and also rather flexible (a lot of cards work, but aren't necessary or even optimal)

IN terms of Hunter, I'm playing Oblivitron Hunter in Standard right now, and despite it not showing up in statistics it's still just as decent as it was last expansion. It just hasn't really changed....like at all.

Hey! I'd love to see your list? I was playing it end of last expansion but was probably ~50% with it. Didn't think it would be great this expansion
