Because Winnie the Pooh is banned in China.
It's a dig at Chinese President Xi Jinping - he was compared to Winnie in a meme and he took offense, so Pooh has been banned in China for the last few years. So naturally it's now re-surging as a protest symbol against him/the Chinese government.

It's a response to Blizzard banning Blitzchung and sacking two casters for coming out in support of the Hong Kong protests, essentially. Blizzard is sucking up to the chinese government so Flash put up a symbol of defiance and derision.
Personality-wise, I consider it the highest complement to be compared to Pooh. Xi is a fool for not finding a way to turn it to his advantage somehow. On the flip side, I'm glad he didn't do that and corrupt the image of Pooh in the possess by associating it with his government.
Never thought I'd see one of my favourite childhood cartoon characters being used as a protest symbol 15 years later.
In my opinion, that's awesome. Winnie the Pooh symbolizing the fight for human rights and freedom is the kind of thing you could previously only read about (and probably not believe)
I didn't know this meaning of this, but I sure agree with this.
However, for me, Pooh is more an old music group than a bear :P
Haha I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for posting this question!
Petition to change the unicorn logo of the website to Winnie the Pooh for a while, because I did not notice this until you brought it to attention.
I had briefly considered it, but not sure if copyright holders would be excited about that :P
The other consideration was to dress up Derpcorn as Pooh, but that would have taken more time than available.
And here i was wondering what everyone was talking about because i almost never scroll completely down :)
I also did not know that Pooh was/is banned in China!
