20 hp might be too little
Felt games ended way more quickly than they should've the hp pool seems really low, every attack to nexus is much stronger than in hs, been playing an aggressive discard deck (draven + jinx) and almost gone undefeated also augmented experimenter is a card that I am not sure how it even left the planning table that card not only is a jinx activator and a refill he deals 3 damage on top of that? also not restricted to followers?
I will explain it's effect: 6 mana: 3/3 (the stat value are slightly higher than in hs so it's 3.5 drop stats) discard your whole hand and draw 3 cards then deal 3 damage.
the only counter to it is deny(from ionia, 3 cost burst spell) or to recall it's target, ye this card does too much.
I mean sure the game isn't even in beta but I already got a feeling that such aggressive decks are way too good, also most people say "there's an advantage to the defender" well.. there is no advantage if the defenders get killed by burst spells and quick attack followers/champions.
I think aggro might be too good, but that being said I didn't face any actual control deck yet, maybe, I am not sure what is a control deck.. freljord?
All that being said probably played mostly against people who never played card games before, and I am probably too hung on this deck that is easy to build/pilot and is probably just beating unexperienced players rather than being strong, except the 6 drop that is stupid strong.

May i ask how you got your hands on a key to the game?
Go to toast's stream, link your riot account and afk there (no need to type silly stuff) eventually you will get your key.
there also might be other streamers that do that, not sure which.
I played it for the last 2 days and it is a blast !
As a Legend hearthstone player since 2014, I can tell you that this game is amazing and I will definitely will be playing it more then Hearthstone - unless
Blizzard will make a BIG overhaul to the game cause it is boring as hell and becoming old very fast now.
Just look at he 1000 portrait with this kids graphics - no real effort put in to the game.
But blizzard wont surrender without a fight - good for us
Cheers
The new kiddie graphics in hearthstone suck.
god I wish I could play it but for some reason I keep getting errors when trying to link my Twitch to my Riot account.
That being said, I think the reason behind the 20 HP nexus is to make games not drag on too long, given how each round already takes a while to complete with all the mechanics and steps.
additionally it's also much easier to defend yourself, courtesy of the combat system.
At the end of the day they can always just increase NExus HP if aggresssive strategies become too strong.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
I don't think 20 hp is low because there is not a way to go face all the time with blocking mechanic.
I had hard times against some Hecarim decks while playing combo or Control decks but I saw that they can be counterable with some additions to the decks.
There is not a life gain more than 20 like MTG:Arena or Hearthstone's Armor mechanic but if aggro goes problematic, They can always add life gain or a mechanic like Armor in HS to the game.
I saw some control tools are more problematic. [Hearthstone Card (She who Wanders) Not Found] nuts with 10/10 body for example. There are no actual answer to this card. She doesn't only remove all little followers in play. She also destroys any 4 or less costed followers in hand. It is huge with 10/10 body which has regeneration. It makes her insta-include in all control decks.
Also I've found [Hearthstone Card (Yasuo) Not Found] a bit overpowered. Mechanic is so cool ok but he destroys anything which is stunned or recalled. I mean, Recall and Stun are already great punishments. Punishing the opponent with destroying anything that get stunned or recalled is ridiculous at some point. It leads people to play buff decks most of the time.
We'll see how it willl go after closed beta launch but I can see that [Hearthstone Card (She who Wanders) Not Found] decks and [Hearthstone Card (Yasuo) Not Found] decks will be top tier. I personally think that Yasuo's leveled up effect should be written as "When you stun or recall an enemy, I deal 4 to it. " instead of "strike it".

I haven't played the game so correct me if I'm wrong but the way attacking works is one player says 'i'm attacking you with minions A and B' then the defender says 'I am blocking minion A with X, and minion B with Y'.
This is the same way it works in Magic, you cannot attack with a 2/2 as long as your opponent has a 2/3. it is a lot easier to protect yourself when the attacker doesn't choose the blockers.
Again, I haven't played the game yet, so I won't pretend to be an expert, but from what I know of MTG (which to me seems like the best game to compare it to) 20 health should be good as long as the game designers don't mess it up.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
You got it right, but at the same time I think aggro might be a little too overwhelming at times and I feel like the games I played ended up too quickly, it might be that some people played the starter decks though (Which are terrible as far as I played them) so I might be biased vs the wrong opponents.. we will see once there is ranked in the game and we can actually know how well players do.. (cause some players might be new to card games and such..)
I don't think that the starter decks are that bad. So much player did not know how to play well with Fast and Burst spells for example so they misplayed so much against me with starter decks.
I have tested starter decks like playing 10 games with them. I got two 7/3 and 6/4 with them which is not bad in my opinion.
Players will be better in time tho. I might be biased too because of that.

I think the 20 HP makes more sense in a "defensive CCG" like MTG or Runeterra, but the biggest reason I'm not worried about this is that Riot Games says they're going to patch as frequently as once a month, and that seems like the kind of thing that will get sorted out pretty early on in the game if it needs patching.
