disappointing honestly, i dont think this would ever be good, unless undatakah also hatches the dragon?
Even with some of the best possible outcomes it seems far worse than other cards like Mechano Egg or Devilsaur Egg. In order for it to be on the same powerlevel as the Devilsaur egg it would need to summon an average of a 7/7, which is obviously not going to be the average, given the high number of lower-cost dragons
I wonder what happens if you trigger the deathrattle with something like Necrium blade. I assume it just summons the dragon you picked and the egg sticks around, but like so many cards in this set, you just can't tell by the wording.
Edit: it also might be helpful to note that the average stats for a random dragon is 13.75, so that means that for all three of your discover options, the average roll is a 7/7. The odds of not hitting an 8/8 or a 4/12 are remarkably low, unless a bunch of tiny dragons get revealed in the upcoming days.
Still a weak card tho.
Discover helps a lot, but there are still only so many Dragons worth the effort. The best Dragons generally have Battlecries, and this won't trigger them. Lastly, a compartmentalized effect means cards like Carnivorous Cube, N'Zoth, the Corruptor, and Da Undatakah cannot synergize with this "egg".
A lot of words to say this card is not great.
Terrible
One of the first truly awful looking cards. Like many eggs, this will have its moments to shine, but this is still a pretty tough sell. Discover is much worse than it used to be, and they haven't revealed any new ways to activate this. I mean it could be fine in Quest Paladin, but IDK why you'd pick randomness over the consistency of Mechano-Egg, though after Boomsday rotates out it could help fill that deck with a good egg. Otherwise I don't see it being good enough to see play.
To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of the women.
I don't see the fact that the deathrattle being a secret really matters. Your opponent should always consider it being the worst outcome possible. I do see it working in a deathrattle rogue deck while using Necrium Blade.
Dragons usually have large stats with dragons like Deathwing, Ysera, Malygos, Alexstrasza, Nozdormu, Onyxia, Waxadred, Evasive Drakonid and Twin Tyrant (while considering you are going for a Rogue deck).
You might get a few bad options such as Twilight Drake, Brightwing, Marsh Drake, Faerie Dragon and Dragonmaw Scorcher, but since you are using discover you should be able to get a good Dragon most of the time.
Either way, I learned to never underestimate egg cards and I do see this having some potential especially if it has the chance of getting a 12/12 as a deathrattle on turn 5.
More dragons? Yes please!
It might be fun to toy around with in a Deathrattle Hunter/Rogue, and it might even occasionally catch the opponent off-guard, but I don't anticipate it doing much better than Mechano-Egg, where Mech synergy was quite prevalent.
Is it just me or this looks like a submission on the Community Creation thread that did not made the cut?
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
At best it's gonna make it in some Meme-Egg-Deck.
And even then I doubt it'll be good.

Small note, the wording is kinda weird, the discover effect is not worded consistently with Fatespinners choose one effect. A more clear way of phrasing this would be "Battlecry: Discover a dragon (secretly), Deathrattle: summon it". Maybe this also isn't correct because then it would imply that the dragon you discovered will go into your hand. my point is, this could be worded a lot cleaner.
About the actual card itself, this is bad. The entire point of eggs is that you can get large bodies out early, or in the case with mechano-egg, you buff it and then just have a sticky minion. but mechano egg isn't a very good card either. At five mana, you want to be doing a lot more then just setting up to summon a (semi)-random dragon on a later turn. This is too slow, and there is very little pay-off.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
The price is steep, but the ability to cheat out a big dragon like Ysera could make this a viable card in a Deathrattle deck.
Love the flavour and looks like it might be best in rogue
would be interesting to see the odds of getting a good dragon via the discover mechanic. Might give it a go. “Ok” stats would have to be 8/8 to be equivalent to the same mana cost Pally Egg.
wont be able to make a judgement on how good it could be until we see all dragons in this set
Makes for good mind games I guess but otherwise very lacking highish cost random effect I guess something had to balance out all the power creep we've been getting
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
Discover a deathwing and use that rogue card that trigger twice .. GG
I'm sorry for my bad english :)
This with Topsy Turvy, EZ 5 mana 12/12.
Kinda bad, especially with most good dragons being battlecry minions. However, the big stats with most dragons also makes this card a little better.
Well it's over
Like the design, hate the mana cost and stats.
All generalizations are false.
Pretty bad as others have said.
Pretty slow at 5 mana. Deathrattle only worth it if you can discover and cheat out a 5+ mana dragon.
Also at the mercy of RNG if you can discover a decent dragon (good stats dragon, preferably with no battlecry)
love the effect and the card might make it in decks like quest paladin but i don't see this card being a huge player in the meta
The pool of dragons has gotten so large now that I don't know that you'll consistently have a good option on discover. However, there will be those moments where you get a Deathwing or Ysera.
But probably dragons will now be not just stats, and your opponent cant know what will hatch
Every Expansion, the best cards are Neutral Epics
Cool theme, bad card. You can discover a small dragon for 5, and has to kill the egg even to summon it...
Never netdeck, craft Whizbang instead!
Most of the dragons that you have battlecry, too much mana, vulnerable to silence if you can’t hatch it on that turn.
A really neat mechanic, Blizzard has impressed me with their creativity in Descent of Dragons, but sadly, this card will hardly see play.
Nice effect but who is going to discover a crap dragon as a scapegoat hit..silence is definitely coming back to the meta to counter these kind of plays..
Flavor is great.
(5) is too much, even considering deathrattle synergy.
Simply because discovery is inconsistent.
meme material
I do what I must, when I must. Know this well.
I don't see this is a very bad card as others. Of course it's not great, but discovering a dragon could be powerful (unless it is a battlecry dragon, then it's a waste).
So you are paying 5-Mana for a 0/3 minion that grants you good value overall, when you hatch it... Best comparison is mechanical egg, obvious. But as other mentioned without the advantage to resurrect it from Undatakah or N'Zoth.
It sure looks slow, but I guess it is too early to tell how good it is, but I guess it will be better than most of you think. At the very least it will be a new toy for Quest paladin, who get another 5-drop that he can copy with his hero power.
Let's hope epic is an indication of rarity and not quality for this one.
The more rarely I will find this in packs, the happier I'll be :D
(unrelated)
Gave this card 3 stars initially. Wanted to change to 2, but found out I could only change upward. So now it's stuck on 4 stars. SAD!
Not good enough. The chance that your get a worse dragon than the Mana cost of this card is huge so, not worth it.
Don't like it. Too expensive for all those cheaper dragons and you want to discover a dragon that cost at least 7 or fore for this to be useable. You also miss out on battlecries. Way worse than Mechano-egg that could be magnetised and always gave you a strong 8/8 mech.
I know I will open at least 3 of these on launch.
Seems a bit weak. There are a lot of Dragons that are too weak for this to be consistently good. Mechano-Egg for example always gives an 8/8 so it's more reliable. I don't think this card will see play.
Max value with Rogue's battlecry (Spirit of the Shark) and deathrattle synergies.
would be interesting to see how the different classes compare to each other.
Hunter for instance wouldn't fare to well because you might run into the two class dragons which are a bit underwhelming, whereas Rogue has a chance of discovering Waxadred, which is a very good result.
Might be a fun gimmick for stuff like Shaman or Rogue, but overall probably a meme
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
In love the secret discover mechanics but 5 mana is a bit too much. Maybe in Standard, where the pool of Dragons is smaller, may vaguely see play.
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the world, and loses his own soul?"
This is way too slow, too inconsistent and too expensive to see play. Really don't like it.
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

i love this cars, but just for fun i´m afraid...
I don't understand the "secretly" except as a lazy attempt to try and get your opponent to burn a Silence on the egg when you had picked a bad minion. But Pascal's Gambit can be applied here: pick a good minion regardless, because if they silence it you're no worse off, but if they don't then you GET the big minion. If you pick a little minion and you get that and then you overpaid for trash.
I would give this 0 stars if I could. Even in meme Egg decks this won't see play because of the cost.
It's not a good egg. But it's an egg. They almost always see play somewhere.
I really like the design of this card so I’m probably rating it higher than it deserves. I hope it gets played.
if you play it with quest shaman, will two dragons hatch from the egg or just one?
Funny card, I really like it. But I dont think it'll play tho. But I really, really like the mechanics and wish that will be more cards like that in future
I don't really know about this one, most of the drakes are Battlecry minions. The only place this is probably going is the Deathrattle Rogue because of Waxadred but the Discover got kinda nerfed anyway so I don't really know. Let's wait for more drakes with on field effects to be released I guess.
I hate everything about this card.
When you play this card you are gambling on discovering a good dragon, when you play against it you don't know what dragon will spawn and can't play around it.
To add salt to the injury, things that random summon a 5 drops now can summon this.
Horrible.
I doubt this will see play, a lot of Dragon are good but there are some stinkers as well. Randomness tend to be avoided in Deckbuilding.
High mana cost and too many "bad" dragons to discover. I doubt it will see play.

EU Legend: S52 (ZooHeal Lock); S76 (Highlander Hunter);
Pretty sure they removed the discover class bonus a while back because of taunt warrior
I am 190% sure that you can change your vote to something lower than it is now.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
oh I know, but you can still disscover class cards and that's my point. Some class options are just better than others, meaning your overall chances at gettting a good result either de- or increase.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Glad that "secretly" makes a return, a super interesting mechanic who deserves more spotlight. Unfortunately I see no reason for it here, as it will no matter what spawn a dragon for your opponent to deal with.
As others have pointed out, this hits problems with N'Zoth, Cube, Undatakah, etc. I want to like it, but I'm not convinced.
When I see this card, I'm thinking it could work in wild as a meaty-eggsy-topsy-wagon midrange/tempo priest. I'll try it for sure. But besides that, meh. Maybe as a standalone in some reno dragon whatever.
Elders Scrolls : Legends / Runeterra
Pray for Deathwing but prepare for garbage.
I think you guys are treating this a bit too harsh . While this card is deffinetly not 5 stars , I don't think it's worth 1 star because :
1 . More than likely the deathrattle will come in play because this will be in a deathrattle deck
2. You discover from 3 dragons , you don't get a random one
3. There are only really like 5 bad dragons while there are probably around 14 good ones so you have like 26% chance to hit only bad dragons
Ok, this is an interesting effect, but it will not see any play. One of the epic cards that you definitely don´t want to open. It can be fun though
Congratulations hero! You got a classical filler for the expansion. Right now i don't see any chanses to see this on ladder. Historically eggs were only played in zoo and aggro decks, but this one is so expensive so there is now way it fits in those archetypes. The 1st 1 star card for me =)
Nice it has low health so its easier to kill off, but I think at 5 mana this thing is simply too slow.
Mechano-Egg only saw play due to magnetic synergy and also Kangor's Endless Army. This will not find a place in Quest Paladin, just too expensive with little synergy. The card also has lots of bad hits, the variation on dragons is pretty high and many of them are powerful battlecries and are not suited well for a card like this. Don't think this will see play.
Gave it 5 stars just because secret mechanics are my favorite. HS needs more cards like this and [Hearthstone Card (Fatespinner) Not Found]
This unfortunately won't see play, still I love the flavor!
I like this card alot, secret deathrattles are insane! While the card seems bad, it will see play for sure!
This sucks. You cant copy this deathrattle since the minion based on the battlecry.seems like a really bad egg
really great flavor but way too slow to run? average dragon is around the statline for the cost, obviously you could highroll/lowroll youe outcome
I can see this in revive prist decks, you can drop it earlier than an 8 mana and can give you an 8 mana. Then you can pop it if needed with global AoE.
5 mana for an slow RNG card can be too much. I think it will not see play
Could be decent in deathrattle rogue, but it seems too slow at 5 mana.
I don't care this will see play or not. Funnier than Fatespinner because it is not so funny when there are 2 options to guess.
This has great pool and so funny mechanic. It is like a randomly gathered pokemon egg. I love the idea of this card. Shame it won't be in high tier decks but I appreciete that this is in the game.
5-star card for the creativity ! 2-star card for the reality...
I hope someone will find a way to abuse this because I can't find one right now.
Unpopular Opinion Incarnate
Cool Egg, but on average I think 5 mana will be too expensive
Looking at Mechano-Egg, this seems underwhelming. There's not enough Deathrattle support for this right now. The only thing that sort of saves it is the secretly part, because if you get a 12/12, your opponent will have no idea. Simple fool.
Because most dragons have battlecries, this egg will sommon an 8/8 or 4/12 most of the time. The mana costs are too high, though. The successful eg decks usually run eggs that cost 2.
I think it would summon an extra copy and keep the egg like you said.
Way too expensive for way too delayed of a payoff. It’s understandable why it is costed the way it is though since the high-roll potential is strong. Occupies that awkward space of “too expensive to be good, but any cheaper and it would be OP”.
Jaina is best waifu. Always.
This card surely have too many immediate noticeable downsides. Cost, silence threat, getting a bad discover pool, etc. I really like the effect and design though and on second thought it is better than any other egg card - because its a discover, dragons with deathrattle and dragons with continued effect. Not sure it will be powerfull enough, but I have a feeling this might see play. I would like to see what quest paladin could do with this! (or any other egg deck)
Cost is too high, and given that discovery is now completely random, it is hard to guarantee value.
Interesting concept. It can find it's place in a lot of decks, the obvious choice being Deathrattle Rogue. But there are better choices. Maybe for Warlock?
Way too expensive to be useful, although like the idea.
Fun and interactive game.
What's this? Something that doesn't give a random dragon?!?!
