  • Can't wait to see the Hero Power that comes with it.
    The Battlecry is hilariously OP!

... Yogg-tastic news everyone ; Hero power been disclosed

Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :

    4
  • This is great!! We will have 4 non-Galakrond hero cards!!

    -=alfi=-

    3
  • im suspecting that every explorer becomes a hero card for their respective class (i.e. elise for druid, brann for hunter, and finley for paladin) considering that its 35 cards in total so its easily a possibility. also imagine being one of the 3 classes getting cucked by not getting a hero in an expansion where all other 5 did.

    2
  • I'm giving it 5 stars just because it is a hero card. I really am interested in the hero power. Maybe 2x random damage among all enemies? Love the battlecry.

Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.

    1
  • I think this might be something along the lines of some custom designs we've seen beforefor "save the baord state", ie "remove all minions from play ... bla bla, put the minions back in play". Maybe the hero power will summon one of the minions removed at random or something.

  • Anyone know if this means it affects only minions in play on the board or does it include any minion anywhere (hand, board, & deck)?

O, that this too too solid flesh would melt
Thaw and resolve itself into a dew!

  • I don't get it, but it sounds like obliterating removal, aka remove from the game entirely, even the graveyard.

Or maybe it's just a meme version of Plague of Death, who knows.

    I tried having fun once.

    It was awful.

Unless it specifies otherwise, it's always implied to be on the board

amem to that brother! hope you are right (and team 5 don't f*ck everything with a shitty hero power)!!!

  • Unless the HP is dumb (unlikely), this card is going to be played in Standard for sure.

Not sure about Wild, where DK Jaina can carry the game.

    0
  • Maybe poof is a new keyword, lol.

    15
  • Maybe the HP could be related to the Minions that „disappeared"? Something like : „Summon a random Minion that got FLEXED ON!!!"

But no matter what HP, I think a Hero-Card is something that could make Highlander-Mage a Top-Tier Deck.

Its a Reno card, with how they decided to evolve his character over the year, you can bet this will be some goofy shit :D

  • Effect: All minions gain stealth. xD

  • If this removes minions from both players' hands and decks then this is going to be the most insane board clear/discard card printed

    Well it's over

    -3
  • I hope the hero power is Arcane Craftiness. I love that one!

    -1
  • Hero Power might be one he got in Uldum.

    0
  • so, you can now play [Hearthstone Card (Reno Jackson) Not Found] with [Hearthstone Card (Reno the Relicologist) Not Found] as The Amazing Reno

    4
  • Seems like it’d be really good for a control deck, can’t wait to see the hero power too

Who needs consistency when you could have fun?

  • Looking forward to hear the emotes of this one:)

I do what I must, when I must. Know this well.

  • That battlecry makes galakrond priest cry.

    By The Holy Light!

    2
  • I am very excited to hear the emotes!

  • Kinda exciting to see some new playable heroes. Scary too though. I'm not a fan of the art on this one. Goofy is fine but this is a bit too goofy for me.

    0
  • I place my bet on a gattling wand - like HP.

Something like: Deal (2) damage randomly split among all enemies. Increases after every use by (1).

A scaling HP is somewhat scary but the game is probably fast enough to give room for counters.

  • Now Reno can randomly deal 10 damage to the whole board, followed by Reno flex-sploding the whole board, and when things go south, look, here comes Reno again, healin you back to full!

This ain't no place for a hero

    1
  • Can't really rate this card before I know what it really do (is it Plague of Death?) and what the hero power is..

    1
  • Hero Power will be: "Summon a 1-2 Flamewaker"

    -3
  • Gave it 5 stars just for the memes. But I am really interesting to see the hp - and i hope it won't be "Add random spell in your hand. It costs X less".

  • I don't think the HP would be too game changing, I mean the Galakronds aren't really that game changing, so neither should the League's.

If the battlecry erase every minion in the game (board-graveyard[don't even think such a thing can be done in HS]-deck-hand), then it's the perfect Spell Mage card, and should be accompanied by a HP much like the quest one.

If not, even the normal HP "Deal 1", would be fine considering all the ways mage has to clear/stall the board state.

Casino Mage just got a new toy. All praise Yogg and Reno!

  • bad hero power sadly

    -2
  • Hmn... do I always remain specitcal? Maybe, but I remain slightly optimistic for Reno. I think Mage decks might run him mainly for his mass removal, be it either functioning like Vanish or Plague of Death, but probably the latter, as the usual balance for Hero cards is 2 mana for the Hero Power, 1 mana for 5 Armor and the rest for the Battlecry - this one mentions a Passive HP, so it could account 9 Mana for Plague and 1 for 5 Armor.

Now onto his Hero Power, which amuses me. I understand that having a random spell every turn feels bad, but I'd stll take it, as it provides constant value - arguably better than from Raid the Sky Temple. You just can't underestimate that while RNG will not always bestow hope upon you, you have so many chances to get good rolls and gain an advantage over your opponent.

I'd say this is a pretty good Hero Card who can definitely buy you time and maybe sometimes screw you up, but should be usually a rather good hero throughout the game.

  • Well, a Control deck focused around spells, or a Combo deck can afford losing their own board, AND the risk of a random spell each turn.

In any other case (ie. Dragon and probably Highlander too), this card sounds just not worth the risk.

    0
  • So.....a random spell at the sstart of your turn.

So I just spendd time to actually look through all the mage spells to determine which ones are actually bad...

only to realize that it casts ANY spell and not just Mage ones.

    Well, it's shit then.

Like, even if we assume that your own board will usually be cleared at the start of your turn, leaving you with mostly positive effects on minion-targetting spells, there's still so many ways to shoot your own face, heal your opponent, overdraw or just buff an opponent's minion (or just do nothing at all)

It's just too great a risk and even if on average you don't get fucked over it's terrible game design because every turn your opponent will have to hope that they don't just suddenly lose the game to random Bullshit.

    I tried having fun once.

    It was awful.

It can't be that, that's what the quest does

Edit: it has been revealed.. Yeah it seems none competitive.. Just for fun..

im wondering this myself. How are deathrattles affected on board?

edit: I might have my answer HERE

  • Urgh the hero power completely destroyed the card for me.

Not because is bad, the card is actually good: the battlecry is amazing, and the random spell every turn is in general good.

I hate the fact that this card is pure RNG after is played and that being good will probably see play (exact same problem i have with dq Alexstrasza, the card is so good that obviously see play, but the outcomes are too many and too different). I don't think that hearthstone needs any more random effects so big, have you tried for example to play a control deck versus highlander (more highroller) rogues? Is impossible, you can't play around anything, because some cards will cost zero and you will not be able to tell which ones until is too late, they generate random lackey that generates random things themselves, they even generate random cards from other classes as well, when you lose you feel bad because what you did didn't matter at all, if you win is because your opponent didn't highroll.

Too bad, i was hyped for this one card.

    1
  • It's a meme card with high roll potencial. At least the amazing Reno is better than Galakrond the unspeakable. :D
    0
  • I hate relying on randomness, so the Hero Power has really soured my opinion of the card :(

    0
  • The Hero Power is called "What Does This Do?" (should update picture).

    1
  • Hehehe... Sounds stupid. Hell yeah!

I don't play Mage, but that Card would be a reason for me to give that Class a try! Can't wait to get salty after losing to this or laughing my socks off when it casts Myra's Unstable Element or Cataclysm.

And for all those who hate it, look at it this way: it's not another Burn for Tempo-Mage ;)

    0
  • It is not stupid. Deck of Wonders was/is a very good card. The majority of spells you get are good for you, say 80% or something, they are free and can be amazing. Occasionely you get a bad one. On average, this will be a very good HP. I love it and I do not understand all the people who are complaining and saying it makes the card "unplayable". It's not only unpredictable for you but more for you opponent. He is facing a possible free Flamestrike every turn. Consider that. The quest result is much worse since you are not getting the mana reduced of your random spell.

Sure you are not having a reliable 1-dmg ping anymore. But this HP is not so effective late game anyway.

Finally we have a solid answer to the "Christmas Tree and presents" result of Hunter's Zul'jin, will at least remove all the summoned minions.

But I am still hoping we will one day get a hero power where you can create your own spell, just like hunter could create his own beast with Rexxar.

    3
  • And I want frost lich Jaina back...elementals with life steal...hell yeah.

    0
  • You can just override the hero power with the quest... which is the first thing i plan on trying. arcane breathe, magic trick, ray of frost and conj already provide you with 8 spells (or more) for the slots of 4. combined with board clear, you can easily come close to completing the quest, just before you use the hero to wipe the board.- since you don't really care about completing the quest early.  Most people tend to fill up the board just before you complete the quest out of fear of losing a value game so it's also a perfect bait.

Plot twist - Battlecry gives all minions stealth instead killing them :P

What's the most powerful card in Hearthstone?

    A credit card.

  • Rogue Galakrond

Shaman Galakrond (at least pre- nerfs)

    Warrior Galakrond

    This garbage.

Here's hoping the other hero classes get hero cards that are actually useful.

    -2
  • I think the value of this card will largely depend on exactly what the Battlecry does. Is it basically Plague of Death, but doesn't add them to the res pool? That's pretty good. Or do they come back at some point, like that card he plays in the Adventure mode?

"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted

    0
  • @Pezman: they are not added to any res pool. They are just removed from the game as if they never were in your deck. So they can not be resurrected. Which is a pretty solid answer to  a Priest board or a deathrattle/reborn board. Against any board in fact :). Also useful to clean up your own minions before your Mecha'thun turn.

  • So...he is live! You have any nice stories to tell? Some epic spells that came out of his hat?

Destroyed a Rez Priest with that at Rank 3 Wild. Looking forward to the Warlock matchup as well. But I'm not sure that I'll stick with him for too long because I removed Arcane Intellect for him ;(

    1
  • Are the minions unressurectable after him?

    -=alfi=-

  • Yes they are not in the res pool. It is as if the cards were not put in your deck.

  • I removed Malygos in a reno deck which was kinda greedy anyway.
