This is fiňe. Battlecries will not work, though

A 2-cost minion with +3 stats is akin to a 3-cost minion. Why then, would you play this inconsistent card rather than a good 3-cost minion?
I really hope priest gets some better cards so that it doesn't have to be a one trick pony anymore.
I'm sure there are some high rolls that could be amazing. I'll throw it in my Priest meme deck for the odd chance of awesomeness. I doubt it will make much impact though.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
This card will never find place in a deck.
Decent as generated or Arena card.
Anyone able to do the what's possible to find in the standard with this card?
O, that this too too solid flesh would melt
Thaw and resolve itself into a dew!
once again proving that they are unable to do anything viable with Priest that isn't absolute cancer.
What deck would even run this unironically?
Why is it so hard to just print acceptable midrange cards for Priests and try for a buff theme that doesn't involve OTKing your opponents.
Oh well, guess 3 more months of AFK Priest it is.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
beautiful art, shitty card... sad but is more of the same for priest...
Good to play on curve, but of no much use otherwise.

Absolute garbage, but I have time to kill so looked through the list of current Standard 2 drops and the minions below wouldn't be *terrible*. The only bright spot here is that the text doesn't specify priest minions, so then you'll be able to discover some not-terrible 2-drops from other classes. Still will never be run in anything but the most memey of decks, but here you go if you're a devout believer in RNGesus:
Amani Berserker - extra life means you could get a little more out of him with boosted attack
Bloodmage Thalnos - always a good card, and could be situationally better if you have spells like Penance handy
Booty Bay Bookie - losing the bad battlecry makes it a 3/6 for 3 mana. Not terrible if playing Inner Fire (which you most certainly are if you're playing this terrible card)
Millhouse Manastorm - ditto + even better at 4/7
Injured Tol'vir - the best of these "lose the bad battlecrys" since it's a 2/9 with taunt for only 3 mana.
Evasive Chimaera - extra life means harder to clear so you get at least one hit off it, maybe more
Discover mechanic give you only cards of your current class and neutral
A 0/7 Lorewalker Cho? Nobody tell wowhobbs.
In all seriousness though. Even though this card is very RNG heavy, I can see it working in some Divine Spirit / Inner Fire decks. Just pick the highest health minion you see to get the ball rolling.
See you in the next dimension...
Discover is not the same as purely random. It's not even close.
Calling this an RNGsus card is a bit melodramatic. It's fine.
There's not a lot of good neutral 2 drops and Priest doesn't have good 2 drops in Standard so this might not see any play at all.
Well it's over
Ah I was unaware of this. Thanks for clarifying that this card is, in fact, even worse than originally thought lol
This will only be good for decks that are built around abusing high health minions.

This is a lot better than a 3-drop. It will generally create a 2/5 or a 2/6 ... those are VERY good stats for a 3 drop.
I could see it being decent, seems kind of weird to print what feels more like a tempo card for a class that hasn’t had that many tempo decks throughout its history though
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
Priest are, like shaman, eternally cursed to have cards that are either really really OP or completely garbage tier, and this card is only slightly less terrible than the meme that is Purify and Radiance
But I remain optimistic that somehow, somewhere this card will come back to haunt our memories.
If this drew a 2-cost from your deck it'd absolutely have some applications but b/c it discovers it seems way too unreliable.
This is a very wait-and-see card. We'll need to see how the discovers turn out on average. I think it's actually a solid card to include in a mid rangey deck if Priest could field one. As someone was saying here it's not easy to kill and can be healed. There almost no chance of low rolling but a decent chance of high rolling. Discover is powerful. Hopefully we're moving towards something for Priest that's very different from the current No Fun Police cancer and maybe this card squeezes in as a serviceable 3-drop.
Too many people claim it's a bad card but I don't understand why is it a bad card and doesn't "Fit any deck" also saw some comments "combo priest have no space for such card" wow those comments are really annoying saw such comments about EVIL Quartermaster here if a deck has no space for a card MAKE A NEW DECK.. as simple as that..
Anyway I will gauge the average 2 drop you might get will split it into 5 categories in a combo priest deck where hp or taunt are really important:
high, medium, low, terrible, situational won't state every option but some examples: (disclaimer I did it manually so I might have counted something in 2 categories, or missed some this is an estimation)
High: 4+ drop stats, useful ability, good res target([Hearthstone Card (psychopump) Not Found]).
Millhouse Manastorm, Injured Tol'vir,Booty Bay Bookie,Wild Pyromancer,Amani Berserker
Total: 5
Medium: 3/5s 2/6s, have taunt/stealth/divine shield
Total: 36
low: 1/4 2/4 2/5 or bad effect
Total: 36
terrible: Doomsayer (Cause of [Hearthstone Card (psychopump) Not Found]) total:1
situational:
Faerie Dragon and [Hearthstone Card (evasive chimera) Not Found] good tempo, but you can't divine spirit/inner fire them
Ancient Watcher(if you have silence in hand.. they might want to kill it and you gain tempo).
Bluegill Warrior - for surprise lethals
Bloodmage Thalnos and Loot Hoarder for card draw.
Other 2.
Total: 8
Total: 86 options (the number of 2 drops for priest + neutrals)
now the chances for each category are: 5/86,36/86,36/86,1/86,8/86
Wanted result at least one from high tier or mid tier (41/86 per card) out of 3 options without repeating: 13% - the chance to get less than a 3/5 or 2/5
So all in all it seems the average result is from the mid tier the chance to get a totally bad pick is kind of low, and when you get one from the high tier you are quite pleased..
What I don't understand every reveal season is why people think every single card needs to win you the game on the spot, this card has good value, gives on average a decently stated minion which combo priest can use very well.. people forgot how strong combo priest was in uldum it seem.. not to mention that the 2/7 legendary still exists not sure if you play this and the other card you get a X/7 or a X/10 though..
It all boils down to whether the card is a win condition, or gets you to your win condition. If it does neither than its just pure stats from then on. This one's not really that bad, despite the constant belittling (my hands are held up high for this one), it just doesn't fit in into the most of the current priest archetype of res-ing dead minions. You pointed out some very good minions that you can get off this, if only for Psychopomp to res it back, but if you want to res a good minion, its better to just put it in the deck to begin with.
I appreciate your number crunching though, if nothing else.
I think they are getting really serious about HoFing Divine spirit :(((((

Some deck for which casting lots of spells is important. Right now the only major payoff for that in standard is Grave Horror, but the remaining Priest cards in this adventure set might feature some new synergies/payoffs for Priest that make this specific card more appealing.
Dark Prophecy isn't really that bad - on average it creates a slightly above vanilla 3-drop for 3. That's playable enough that it wouldn't take much to make it good in a Spell Priest deck.
I would bet for the classic discover mechanic, discover a 2 drop neutral/class specific with reduced chance.
What bothers me it's the wording... If High Priest Amet is in play, the minion summoned would first gain +3 health, then be raised/downed to Amet's health.
I mean, I don't have Amet, and hate to play against priest right now (feels like wild is in standard), but the wording makes it look like it's not worth it in a OTK DS/HF deck with Amet.
Papa Nurgle wants to share his gifts.
A DS/IF deck might play this. Indeed, it might be pretty reasonable in that deck.
A discover with an unspecified class always takes from neutrals and the class of the person playing it. So this will offer priest and neutral 2-drops if you put it in a deck, but if a rogue burgles it it will offer from rogue and neutral instead.
The only special cases I know of with unspecified class discovers are with secrets, because there are no neutral secrets so if you play a 'discover a secret' card you either get offers from your own class if it has secrets, or from the class of the card you played otherwise. E.g. rogue playing Secret Plan will be offered hunter secrets in Standard, but rogue secrets in Wild.
I hope this clears it up for this and any future unspecified discover cards.
Nope. People are going to keep asking the same stupid questions over and over XD
Can't exactly say how good or bad this card is. It seems very average - probably decent enough for Arena, but it seems to kind of have no place in Standard if included in your deck. Sure, you could argue Combo Priest would include this, as it gives a pretty high Health minion, but I don't find anything worth replacing in that deck for this card. Maybe as a one-of, and maybe once cards like Bwonsamdi, the Dead rotate.
Of course, I could be wrong. This could be aswell used in a little more mid-range version of Combo Priest where they do not have tons of 1-drops to draw with Bwonsamdi - in such case, I could see this card being more playable.
We have quite an interesting 2-drop collection for Standard right now. You can either snowball so hard with Millhouse Manastorm and Injured Tol'vir, secure the Health bonus with Cloakscale Chemist or make a Deathrattle minion like EVIL Conscripter feel like Carrion Grub. With new 2-drops on the horizon, this could be either better or worse. But I'd say the current pool is fine, just not good enough to make this broken to include in your deck.
3/5

You might discover a doomsayer but you don't have to play it.. As I calculated last page you will get never lucky options only about 13% of the time.

Thanks for the breakdown, really helpful. It seems like the card might be worth playing, but not necessarily in the priest decks that are popular right now. I could see a tempo dragon priest coming back.

I've played with this card a bit this week, and it seems way better than how its being portrayed in this forum...
