As Dyatlov would say, "Not great, not terrible."
As much as I love cards that give off another type: minions, spells, etc. This card, like Lyra, the Sunshard, will not last on the board. In fact, it's what I like to call One-Trick Card, unless one can buff this card with health (+2, etc.). It will not last on the board. Cause one's opponent will kill it the following turn, or even worse, silence it. Good card, but only for a turn. So one shouldn't get their hopes up to running this. 2 Stars
This is a minion that I woyldnt run but would be nice to pull off of invoke hero power possibly? I know galk priest sucks rn but maybe just the hero power will be worth it with this expansion. Maybe
Trolden: "Power word: Shield" > "Power word: Shield" > "Power word: Shield" > "Power word: Shield" > ...
Pretty nice card to discover in burgle rogue
he's got vanilla stats for a 2 drop with a beneficial effect he will absolutely see home somewhere
Cool Budget Version of Lyra! And you can run 2 of these, nice!
Wild Yogg Saron priest deck with this and Lyra the Sunshard and Seances!
Sethekk Veilweaver makes the upcoming Power Word: Shield nerf feel a lot less bad. Priest also has access to Silence and Lazul's Scheme for some easy ways to generate some spells and impact the game immediately with this, not to mention the myriad 1 and 2 drop spells to follow up with on your next turn.
Can I have this for my Galvadon Paladin in Wild please? :S
A much needed card for priest, to generate more value.
But its viability is seriously challenged by the fact that its either too slow, or you just get arsed up by RNG. Imagine Power Word: Shield into Plague of Death into "well that's that train stop a wee bit too early".
It also suffers from the fact that the only good spells targeting minions worth including into the deck that works with this card currently is Power Infusion, Shadow Word: Pain and death. So its susceptible to both RNG and it forces you to put useless cards into your deck, and it potentially giving you useless cards as well.
Maybe there's a way to cheapen spells, or maybe there's better spells yet to be revealed. For this cards' sake there better be or its yet another wonderful situational card nobody ever uses.
EDIT: Okay, I've gone round to thinking a bit and there is a sizable amount of minion targeting spells in priest's arsenal at the moment. But its in my opinion, just not good enough. Its hard to build around this card, to be honest. I just cant see anyone playing Embalming Ritual, Lazul's Scheme, just so this can work.
So least this card doesn't have the restriction of "friendly minions" so you can still target enemy minions and get the benefit. Very strong on turn 2 and I'm sure your opponent will try to remove it on their turn.
This card will give those new buffed classic/basic cards a chance to shine
Didn't I see this guy in 'The Dark Crystal'?
HMMMMMMM
Damn, you're right he sure looks like a Skeksis
ILLUMIMATE!
More conditional than Lyra the Sunshard, but way easier to combo with.
When i see this card, I feel bad for Lyra the Sunshard. I don't need to cast spells on minions for her to work, but this epic is a solid 2-drop. It costs way less mana, so it has way more combo potential.
Overall it's a really cool card, but I don't like the fact, that Blizzard make other legendaries look so bad compared to other non-legendary cards.
Fact is Lyra should cost (4), especially as a Wild-only.
This one at least seems like a situation where it’d still make sense to run both, unlike something like Soggoth where the newer cards are pretty much just better than the old one
