leaked 0.9.4 patch!

Well some changes at least.. source:

Frenzied Skitterer 3/3 -> 3/2

Brightsteel Formation - doesn't have barrier itself anymore by default but grant it to itself via it's effect (no change)

Katarina added effect to base form : play: create a fleeting Blade's Edge (not known if to upgraded as well.. seems like not). not changing too much I think..

Yasuo 4/3-> 4/4 HUGE buff, rip meme status for yasuo.

Vanguard Bannerman - no longer buff itself (stays a 3/3 instead of being a 4/4 when it's effect tirggers)

 

Edit: forgot Kalista: level up 4->3 dead allies

  • Well the Frenzied Skitterer nerf seems not impactful to me (power is way more important than toughness in fearsome decks and this just makes it die to avalance or mystic shot)

     The Brightsteel Formation nerf is small but meaningful since p&z can now kill it with their big creature burn spell as response and that it triggers 1 less barrier for shen

    The Katarina buff is interesting but i doubt it will make her much better on her own but i could see Ezreal decks now considering to play her

    The Yasuo buff actually does not change too much since he was above 3 health when he leveled anyways and thats what matters (for Brittle Steel)

    However it is sad to see that Riot wants to keep Iceborn Legacy as it is. It only finds a home in that scribe meme deck that you cant call consistant or ranked viable imo

      Those are part of the patch notes they mostly have more changes for the game.. so it's not all the patch.

      also the formation is no nerf it's neutral

      Katarina buff is actually really good, she now can level up  against Riposte and Prismatic Barrier or any +1/+1 buff.
      Yasuo now survives Get Excited! and Grasp of the Undying, so for me this is a big buff.

  • You missed the fact that Kalista now only requires three allies to die to level up.

    Also that katarina buff now basically makes her a 4/2 quick attack but flexible. A way more interesting buff than just a stat increase or a mana cost reduction in my opinion. Looks pretty good.

      So you unleash the souls once and she is leveled? That makes no sense and really is just to push her into the meta that she should not be a part of...

       

  • Isnt Brightsteel Formation just a design clean-up rather than a nerf? I believe "give all allies" includes itself, so it will come with a Barrier regardless. You can tell by the new text on Vanguard Bannerman that will say "grant other allies" to exclude itself.

      By no change I mean it doesn't actually got changed I think I mentioned it.

      @leglock I don't think she is countered by barrier anyway.. it doesn't fix her weakness to frostbite and mystic shots.

      it helps her kill such targets and grants her synergy with sejuani a bit... it's also really thematic since it's her passive in league.

        Brightsteel Formation had changed actually. No longer have Barrier if you summon him from other effects, such as The Harrowing and Spectral Matron for example. I know, in practice, you also play those on your attack turns and he still gives Barrier when it attacks but still a change if you ask me and in new expansion, there might be some summon effects that makes this change is needed maybe.

        • Yes, if there is a "barrier recruiter" or a barrier tutor it matters, and yes it's worse when summoned and not played you are right, it's a slight nerf.. not that people were playing it with the harrowing anyway.

  • I love the Yasuo buff!

    Normaly when Yasuo appears on the board it is instantly removed. It is very hard to protect him because there are so many ways to deal 3 damage.

    Now my Yasuo deck will play out so much more effective!

      Really?  I'm afraid its too much.  4/4 Quick Attack for 4 mana would be good enough to see some play on its own, but then you add on L2 Yasuo's potential synergies with Minotaur, Roar, Yone, etc...  If you're going to have that potential for insane upside, then IMHO you need to also give your opponent opportunities to remove Yasuo, and for most decks that means 3 HP.  I'm predicting they are actually going to ultimately revert this buff.

      • Riot rarely reverts buffs/nerfs/reworks.. they prefer to try other approaches I think he could be 5 mana 4/4 quick attack if he turns out to be too toxic... well seeing as it's Yasuo it's already toxic by existing :D.
