Full Release = Emoting Douchebags

Like the title says.  Beta people were polite (bran wave at game start, shen emote at game end).

Now every other player is spamming

Jinx/Thresh on lethal,

heimer/gryphon thinking emote if you take more than 5 seconds to play

Thumbs up emote/brann on pivotal/counter plays.

Not sure I expected any different.  I miss the respectful beta community.

  • Can't say I have/had the same experience, now or before. Rarely do I see anyone use emotes at all.

  • I like to use the emotes, but I’m a respectful way. Never spamming, but to communicate my reactions to their moves, and usually Shen when I think I’ve won. It seems like most players I run in to do the same

Shen when I think I’ve won.

And thats a BM right there.

One thing I really like about the visual emotes is that they convey feelings a lot better than text-based emotes.

I could simply type a message "well played" and you could never know if I meant it in a sarcastic way and it was super easy to win, or if I actually had a good time and wanted to say GG. But there isn't really a way to misinterpret the Shen emote as being sarcastic or rude.

In Hearthstone, I never emote when I win unless my opponent emotes "well played" first, because then I know they are cool with it. But in Runeterra, I don't think people would get as trigger with the Shen emote as people in Hearthstone do with the "well played" emote.

I don’t think so. My Shen isn’t “haha I won”, it’s a respectful “thank you for playing”

Then consider emoting AFTER the lethal play, not before, and definitely not when he is still thinking.
This way no one will mistake your intentions.

Why not emote Shen when you are about to lose?
          Food for thought.

I usually Shen when I lose. When I’m beaten I pay my respects.

Game ends faster since it skips animations, some champions even level up after the nexus drops bellow 0.
But more often then not is butthurt, myself included
