The moment I saw Gran Turismo 7 up, I'm immediately hooked onto it.

As a PC gamer it doesn't excite me too much (I am not saying "PC master race" or something just that I never had a console), I guess it means more games are gonna come out with better quality when they are multiplatform, which is nice.

or who knows maybe one day I will buy a console, but as of now.. it's not for PC, so not much hype for me.

The design is cool but I don't really see what makes it better than the last generation in that mind-blowing way they're promoting it. Of the games I liked Project Athia the most. I'm curious about the price and if there will be a VR set right from the start...

I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

Alright, that was an amazing show. I was disappointed Kojima never showed up, but to expect an announcement of anything new with Death Stranding releasing less than a year ago was incredible optimism lol.

The design of the new console is incredible. Console design has gotten quite boring over the past couple of generations and seeing the curves on the PS5 makes me think fun instead of boring lines. That's not to say I hate console design that is simple, there is a special elegance with it and I certainly enjoy the look of the Xbox Series X, but this is something special.

The optical drive version is a little bit on the chonky side, but damn do I love it. Plus, a necessary evil for me since any game I can buy physically is always on a disk.

    The games.

    Horizon Forbidden West

I still haven't played the first game despite purchasing it on an Amazon Prime Day sale last year. I know its good I just haven't found the time to commit to it. Holy damn does the second look amazing. A theme throughout the panel is me asking why they don't put text in the bottom of the corner of the stream indicating what is in-game an what isn't because it is seriously hard to believe this tech is possible on a console now. I think it is crazy that some people are going to have a console that blows their gaming PC out of the water this year.

Very pretty looking game though and as long as the mechanics are similar, I'm sure it's going to be an amazing time.

    Ghostwire: Tokyo

This looks like it'll be an interesting horror/psychological game. Graphically speaking A++, and the Tokyo theme will always be a favourite of mine. Tough to say much more though... I guess that's a common theme here since we haven't really had a chance to see much gameplay of anything shown today.

    Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Okay, what the hell. Seriously, how are we rendering these games on consoles?! I'm very intrigued by their trailer (linked below) as this looks like it'll be a fun fast-paced adventure. The lighting is absolutely amazing, the little black puffy things are adorable, and I look forward to hitting stuff with magic and that sexy bow.

    Sackboy

I've never really gotten into Little Big Planet much, though this looks like this will be fun. A lot of co-op gameplay which will be great if anyone else ends up getting this though I wonder if we're getting an editor. Graphics yaaaaasssss.

    Returnal & Deathloop

Seriously? Two games with the same time loop mechanic? I'll pass on them.

    Stray

    RIP Humans =(

I'll play cat simulator though. I'd love to know a lot more about it.

    Ratchet & Clank

Was never big on the series but there is no way I'm ignoring this one. The action looks like a ton of fun though it was a little painful to watch the gameplay since it is so obviously on a console with the slow turning LUL. Excellent use of the ray-tracing as far as I can tell!

    Spiderman Miles Morales

I still haven't played Spider Man on PS4... yet I own it much like I own Horizon Zero Dawn >.>

Should be dope af! REALLY want to see more of the game.

    Gran Turismo 7

The game clearly looks better than Forza Horizons 4 with the car interiors, tracks, and of course the sexy beasts the cars themselves, though I don't think I can get into GT again. After playing sim racing in virtual reality,  there just isn't any desire to play super sim on the TV anymore. Forza let's me play arcade racing with as much sim as I want to add on to it, and I know GT lets you do that to a degree as well, but the game is too serious imo.

The trailer today really makes me look forward to the next Horizons on Xbox Series X and PC, so thanks Polyphony!

    Project Athia

Square Enix displays, you're already going crazy in your mind wondering what tricks they have up their sleeve today. No signs of a release date means this is at least a couple of years out but daaaaamn that dragon looks INSANE.

It sucks that we didn't get more of a look of a lot of these games but at the same time, that wasn't really what today was about. There's some really cool stuff to look forward to though so that's awesome! I'm really curious to see what the launch lineup is going to look like since that still seems to be in the air, as it the price of the console. I'm hoping its a $100 discount for no disk drive so they can get pumping out those units to get people onto new hardware asap and studios can start to use these consoles as a solid baseline that will only further improve what we have available on PC.

I'll always be a PC person at heart, but damn the PS5 is ballin'! These graphics are just so incredible and honestly, that's the summary of this post. I just really wanted to be able to link these trailers since I think they're the highlights.

Although i wasn't blown away like the first trailer for the first horizon, this one looks like my personal system seller. Horizon 1 for me was one of the best games for the last years; the second one looks  a bit like "more of the same", but that isn't a bad sign. That elefant though... INSANE! (in a good way!)

Project Athia (seems to be a working title) looks absolutly fantastic. i agree with you, flux, that dragon.... amazing!

Remake of demon souls! It was rumored before, but see it, i dig it.

And last, Kena. This looks like the Zelda, PS never had. Unbeleavable cute and beatuiful.

    Honorable mention: godfall. Seems fun.

As for the other introduced games: let's wait and see.

But overall very nice event! The design is strange at first glance, but the more often i look on it, the better i like it.

For me honestly, the best part of the PS5 unveiling was that Demon's Souls will be on the console.  I still remember cracking into that game 10 or so years ago.  SOOOOOOOO many game review sites stated that it was the hardest game for anyone and that the rewards weren't the good.  Little did those naysayers know is that one game would be the catalyst for other games like it:  Dark Souls, Nioh, BloodBorne....

Wow Flux just casually ignored GOTY contender Bugsnax...

All jokes aside, while I really enjoyed Horizon: Zero Dawn (bought and played it a few months ago) the sequel does indeed look like just 'more of the same'.  Which isn't bad per se, but probably not something I'll be picking up the second it gets released.

That new Ratchet and Clank game though... I absolutely loved the series, back when I was a kid, and just as much now that I'm older. Definitely one of the games on top of my priority list to get once I eventually fork over and buy a PS5.

Hahaha. For real though, I do want to know more about it because some of those bugs looked absolutely delicious.

Wait, we're not supposed to want to eat bugs...

Maybe I'm just an old curmudgeon but an awful lot of this looks like style over substance. I completely skipped last generation just one game on any platform grabbed me. I realised this when the only game that grabbed my attention was the Rare Collection on Xbox One.  I damn near bought a second hand Xbox One just for that.

I'll stick with my PS3 for now. Unless something comes along that I can get my teeth into I'll skip the PS5 as well.

Cocked, locked and ready to rock...

Na, I've already spent aprox $3K building a new PC this year. My PS days are behind me. The first console I ever owned was a PS1, so PlayStation is dear and close to me, I just have no reason for it anymore. I have a PS4 (that a friend bought for me trying to get me to play Star Wars Battlefield with him) and it's only use for me is to be an over-glorified BluRay player in my living room.

Looks like Amazon France has leaked the price and the release date. 499€, starting November 20th. Sounds like a good deal to me!

The one thing, the only thing that prevented me from being interested in the PlayStation 3 and onward that Sony has yet to catch on to? One of the things that made the PlayStation 2 what it was and such a roaring success?

    Backwards compatibility.

Seriously, it isn't hard to just program stable emulators onto new hardware that can interact with physical discs :\

Well, that will be possible this time, at least partially

Probably the most disappointing to me was that bloodborne pc remastered wasn't a confirmed thing.

Oh, and the other games shown were alright I guess. No real gameplay seen though, so as usual take it with a huge pinch of salt. Im actually surprised to have seen strayed, considering that after seeing it for the first time 2 years ago I thought it would never see the light of day. Looking forward to it, and hope they take the simulation to a whole new level.

And lets also mention that the price tag for this warmachine is around $700, which I believe is enough to get a midrange pc that will still probably be more powerful than ps5 ever can be and fully upgradable to boot.

Really, the only reason at this point to get a ps5 is the exclusives. I waited 5 freaking years for bloodborne, and even if the rumoured pc remastered actually turned out false I would still consider my decision to avoid pricey consoles the right decision.

I don't get, why people always demand backward compability.

If you are interested in old games, you probably have the old consoles still. if not, you don't need it. so why the fuzz?

because like most things, consoles dont tend to age very well.

My old ps1 served me for like 20 odd years and now wouldn't run even if I hooked it up on life support and gentle massages. Would be nice if, well, the latest ps unit would be able to run my old ps1 games, which I paid not an insignificant amount of money for.

I mean, its like if steam had that bs microsoft thing where you can only install your games on specific pcs. We'd all be rightly ditching that shit for even the likes of epic if it didnt do that.

Yeah, so backwards compatibility is, if nothing else, important so you dont have to buy a second copy of a game in case your old unit just cant cut it anymore from old age.
